I am so sorry for her familys loss but hopefully now they can get some closure. The next question are obviously the how and whys, and I hope they find those quickly.


As someone in HRT for the past 10 years since I was 24, I cant attest to what Nicola was going through, but I can speak about my experience. If i forgot to take my tablets for a few days I would notice my mood switch, I would become upset over nothing, i would get snappy at my husband and kids, then my mind would start to fog and I would forget things (like taking my hrt! Which obviously then got worse) And I would struggle to sleep and stay asleep. And thats just the physical side of things - i know menopause effects people differntly. The psychological side of saying goodbye to your youth, the idea of never being pregnant again, the creeping up of age on your body. And she was young to be going through that too with 2 young girls and a job.

I've kept it really open so it's not overriding any of the amazing specific threads that are already out there. I felt it was important as there have been a few cries for help in this thread and a few have shown interest.

Fab, thank you so much for this. Although I'm absolutely devastated for Nicola and her family, and there are no positives to be taken from the whole situation, I'm glad it's raised awareness of women struggling with mental health and that so many have been able to share what they've been through or are currently going through. I know it's a stupid phrase and I'm not one for using them but the "lifting each other up" on here has truly been something so great to see. A lot of us try to get through each day, feeling many different things but not saying a word about it because we don't want to burden those around us. We deserve to be able to share whatever we feel we want to, with no fear of shame or embarrassment.

I've been suffering immensely with similar issues to Nicola was reported to have had regarding menopause. But someone here linked a website to speak to a specialist so I'm going to save up a bit to do it as my GPs have completely fobbed me off for 3 or 4 years now. We deserve better. I hope with all my heart that Nicolas death (however it may have occured) will not have been in vain, and lots of women will now be able to both ask for, and receive the support they need, be that either via friends, online places like here, or healthcare professionals.

Someone hacked his account…sad people don’t have anything better to do!

I don’t know if you are joking, but the account was not hacked. It was found and he had been adding photos of boobies for 6 years! Unless someone hacked his account 6 years ago and periodically logged back in to like the odd boob pic every so often then we can be pretty sure Paul just likes boobs.

I hope, whatever happens to this thread - that anyone who is struggling with their mental or physical health, their lives, or marriages, can find the strength from the love and support on here to go and get some professional health.

Personally, I've been seriously considering ending my own life. I'm up to my eyeballs in debt, I've bailiffs threatening me.

But the thought of leaving my children I can't do it to them.

Can you ring one of the helplines? There's really good people working in them who can listen, help you and direct you to local mental health services. Have you been to your GP? Do you have a friend that could maybe make the phone call with you if you're nervous about ringing them yourself?

There will be a brighter day ahead for you, no matter how bleak things look now, I promise.

I hope this won't now influence how people think when a woman goes missing. Was she menopausal? Was she a drinke? Etc

And that's the exact reason why her personal details should have never been shared.
It comes to something when a bunch of 'trolls' from tattle have advocated for her more than the police, or Paul, who should have been protecting her privacy!

I will bet my last pound that at some point a misogynistic man, or even an uneducated witch of a woman will throw Nicola's medical history or outcome in the face of a woman who is struggling

I had assumed once his page was circulated someone has hacked in and added stuff recently to make it look like he was still uploading stuff while Nicola was missing. I just find it beyond low people would go to them lengths. It’s crazy times we live in !

Absolutely - everyone involved will have been touched by this. Even the local community, walking down that way (not)knowing what happened, but dealing with the aftermath of what is a beautiful area tainted by such tragedy now

That hasn't come from here. It was theories elsewhere.
Here people spoke about Emma's eye make up, nothing more, some made reference to her go fund me and presence in the media.

Some alleged locals have said things about him such as allegations of affairs, coke and wetting the bed (bizarrely)

His tiktok account followed over 400 people, most of which were teenage girls who were very scantily clad.

Add to that the Pinterest account with BOOBS and some people have come to the conclusion that he may not quite be the loving supportive partner he is portrayed to be.

However, nobody knows the ins and outs of their relationship and a lot of these rumours about his life have come from unconfirmed and somewhat batty corners of the internet.
