Oh my word, that’s awful that they cut your babies cheek!! Is that when they had to cut the amniotic sack? Poor baby, must be horrendous for you to see it.
I’m in Norfolk and it has a pretty bad name when it comes to mental health services so we will see.
Do you know what happens during a debrief? Do they have access to your notes?
I had a HUGE bleed after I had my son, to which they had to reopen my wound and find the source of the bleed, I lost 2 pints in total. It was in my uterus, so they inserted a balloon catheter & gauze to stem the bleed. The gauze placement wasn’t written in my notes and I wasn’t aware that it was used, I guess due to the emergency situation therefore 3 weeks pp,
I began to feel abit heavy, achey and abit smelly down below, they only left the bastard gauze inside me, it’s only meant to be used for 12 hours max then removed, so basically during surgery and then removed before being stitched up. It started to make its way through my cervix, which was fully closed of course so that’s why I was feeling the pain, and my midwife had a look down below and saw it just sitting there in my vagina. It was absolutely gross, there was so much of it they couldn’t get a speculum up there to ease it out..few minutes later, 4 YARDS of gauze was pulled out! Sorry to be gross here but it just looked like a black snake, dried up blood
I haven’t made a complaint but my hospital are doing a serious incident investigation as it shouldn’t of happened. I’m lucky not have had sepsis..
