Right. Husband has now gone for the week and I’m solo parenting. Is it cheating that I’ve made a big spag bol and just plan on reheating it for the next few days?! Toddler Runner is happy to eat the same thing for days on end, and I fancy the easy life…

Goshhh guys having the most stressful week, turns out whipping your tonsils/adenoids out isn’t a straightforward process for kids who have other issues! My middles op tomorrow has been last minute cancelled and he’s being referred to a specialist team in London Anxiety is currently sky high!

Aside from that, my baby sailor is nearly 4m. Can anyone advise on naps? I get him to sleep fairly easily but every time I put him down he wakes up within about 15 mins and then needs a lot of help to resettle or is totally wired… This happened 3x today, managed to put him down at about 1 and he’s still asleep now but pretty sure it’s because he’s worn himself out! He sleeps all night (praise the lord) but I’m worried about his day sleep, he had 6 small ish naps yesterday I don’t remember this happening with my eldest! (I don’t count my middle one for naps because he just screamed all day until he was…well still does now actually )

It certainly is not! Exactly what we're doing here! Tomorrow something new will be going in the slow cooker for us to live off for the next 3 days then on Friday I'll reload the slow cooker with something else

I’m still having to do contact naps if we’re not out in the car, carrier or pushchair! luckily he can now amuse himself for longer when he’s awake so I have to get bits done while he’s in his bouncer and just watch tv when he’s sleeping on me lol

I am channeling my inner Thankyou this week. Honestly I have no idea how you do such long stretches with twins and don’t go totally insane! I have already warned my husband that with a baby who will only contact sleep (both for naps and at night) plus a toddler, he can expect to come home to a pig sty of a house

Is it normal for a 5 week old to refuse to sleep. He’s not slept for longer than 10 minutes since 10:15 this morning. I can tell he’s overtired but he just won’t sleep anywhere even in my arms. I just want a wee without him screaming for me

also is the wonder weeks app worth it?

It helps I was insane to begin with
I just live life like you do in the newborn days, and literally wing my days and hope for the best
Don't forget to add in a cheat meal of McDonald's or Pizza because you deserve it (and it saves on the washing up)

Massage was insane. Rest painful at first because I had that much knots and tension in my back and shoulders but in the end I was in heaven back to reality now.

Had the worst day
T Bean needed a wee before we left for the school run. I didn’t make sure his Willy was pointing down so he weed all in his pants/trousers/socks/shoes
Cat had to get her injections
Work has been manic
Left baby on the playmat while I took a phone call in the kitchen. He’d rolled and got himself in a right state on his tummy. Picked him up and his face was bright red and his lips were blue took him ages to calm down and now I just want to curl into a ball and cry

Oh snap!!!! Do you have to work hard to get him to sleep?

I have a 9 week old, he needs loads of help to get to sleep. He naps easily in the car or pram but won’t sleep in his next2me in the day any more. Infuriating isn’t it

I honestly don’t know how you’re juggling all that and work! You might not feel like it but you’re an absolute wonderwoman!

Lots of people swear by the wonder weeks. Personally, I think it’s a timetable of misery…

The only way he’ll sleep is if I feed him but it’s not for long, I know they say you can’t overfed a breastfed baby but I feel like I am just to get some peace
He’s the same, i had a health visit today so I couldn’t stay out all day walking him

It’s so hard not knowing what will work for them isn’t it!

Do you have a sling and if so, does he sleeo in there?
Kitten had a few weeks of horror when she would only settle when she was touching either me or MrCat. The sling was a lifesaver. I even mastered peeing with a baby in the sling! I did mourn my privacy though

Poor Kitten threw up all her food at daycare today They had given her potato and spinach puree and there was some spinach left in her nostrills, so she must've puked through her nose again. Poor baby.
She's incredibly tired and sad as well.
Her cheeks are a bit red, so I'm wondering if it's teething time :/

I haven’t I’ve got a baby bjorn carrier but it’s a bit more structured and I’m not 100% comfortable with it. I need to get a sling really but I’ve had my first pay of SMP and I can just about stay in the black if I pay for nothing but my bills, so I kind of begrudge paying for a sling even if I need it

Have you got a sling library near by? Your HV may be able to point you in the direction to one

Oh, smug me of three hours ago. I have no idea how it happened, but while I was dishing up one handed, baby in the other hand… she somehow managed to be sick. Into the pan we may be getting McDonald’s tomorrow instead!
