Her watch is obviously in the bin. I said something similar earlier. The writing just feels lazy.
The whole show since it returned feels a bit weird. I don't really care about the JJ paternity storyline because he comes from a new family and there hasn't been enough time to build an interest.

Reece staying in the hotel for weeks on end to keep an eye on how things are going just feels unrealistic. I know it's a plot device to explain the introduction of an American character, but it's so contrived.

It feels like they're starting with the outcome of a storyline then working backwards to get to that point without really thinking about the backwards part. An example being where Wendy was hunting through the bin was daft and then it was clear it was only introduced as a plot device to get JJ the keys to her house.

I mean, I get it's a soap, and I wouldn't mind if it was one storyline, but it's multiple.

I agree with those saying Mike is probably going to get killed off in a bike accident. I thought it as soon as Jane insisted on Mike going on his bike tour. As others have said, it was good of Guy Pearce to come back. He could have refused which would have left the writers with developing a reason for him to get written out, but it seems he returned to give Mike a proper send off, which shows he has a lot of affection for the show.

Some thoughts from me… Not watched all of the new episodes yet but it’s very confusing. I’m sorry they swapped Jane’s son for someone else as I don’t feel the new ones fits the character very well.
Has the actress who plays Jane been through some bad health stuff? I didn’t recognise her when I began watching at the 2022 episodes after not seeing for years, but I thought it was someone much older than she is meant to be.
So glad to see Mike back! I always liked him. I’m surprised by how small the cast is and how few people are back.
The Toadie-Mel thing is baffling me. He and Therese is not a natural fit at all.
I’m surprised to say I miss that Amy and Zara as I wasn’t keen on them at first. Now I hate Holly instead 😂

I prefer the new actor playing Byron, he's nice to look at

I don’t know if I’ve remembered the show as being better than it was, or if the cast are out of practice, but the acting is awful in the new episodes. So wooden and unnatural - even the characters I always loved!
Is it just me?!

Not throwing shade on his looks at all, I just don’t buy him as an ex escort but I did the other one, it’s a personality thing. The new one seems too squeaky clean and innocent!

I'm not keen on new Byron either and agree he doesn't seem to suit the character. I may be slightly biased by the fact I found old Byron quite attractive though 😆.

Funkily enough I nearly called him Birkin when I was trying to think what his name was 🤣

I’m viewing it for the first time in years. I quite like it so far. I’m dying to know how they are gonna end the Jane/Mike story.

yeah easiest way would have been a simple they split up in the 2 Years. Now though I think only end might be a sad one :(
Love that Guy returned though what a lovely Man he must be.

Although I wasn’t even born when they were first on the show I really enjoyed their reunion in the finale. I guess it’s a downside of the show coming back that they won’t get a happy ending.

Yeah I missed them the first time around. My first Neighbours memories are from 91 so Glen & Lucy, Phoebe & Todd

my era is Karl and Susan. I loved it as a 90s kid. I stopped watching probably around 2001

I feel so old now, I remember when Charlene turned up, I was around 8/9. I loved the 90’s era, especially when Toadie, Amy and Billy, etc were teenagers as I’m the same group.

I’m still gutted that we didn’t have a scene between Rebekah and Guy, it would have been a nice nudge to their time together on h&a.

Apart from killing him off, I think the only other hope is getting him to work away to somehow get funding for the school or something, but I’m not hopeful. ☹

These are the first titles I remember. So I guess I got into Neighbours when I was 8 😂

I started watching when it they added it to the teatime show and Billy, Anna and toadie were around my age. I loved that period. 90s neighbours was great.
I'm happy with the new neighbours, feel like everyone has slotted back in. I think they will build the cast up slowly and I think they will keep toadie and Therese together for a while because toadie has nowhere to live if they split.

I can’t see them adding to the cast until they’re confident they’ve got a consistently high-enough audience figure, to warrant the extra cost. I also wonder if the actors are on a fixed-term contract, in case it didn’t work out…

Toadie and family are walking towards his old house in the opening titles, not number 22
