Somebody commented re the pandemic, and Mark read out: "... you can't trust the Irish." He read it out and his face betrayed that he thought... something, I don't know what. But he said nothing. He read it aloud and let it stand. I'm Irish, though living overseas. And I'm sick of that BS.
He's a xenophone imo just to add another unpleasant attitude to the ever increasing list. The joke is that he pretends he is cosmopolitan and enlightened but really he's just a smug little englander with a superior attitude to boot. The way they both trot out racial stereotypes without giving it a moments thought is really quite digusting.
Their broad assumptions about knowing everything they think gives them carte blanche to make assumptions (generalisations) about everybody else the chinese the russains arab people irish and those are just the ones i remember..
Of course they are both woke enough to not offend the liberal elite (heaven forbid) no what they do is even worse they are derogatory or snide about countries that are either getting a bad press unpopular or they think are (or have been) subjugated by england. There is more than a hint of colonialism (someone who can't let go of the past) in marks attitude and frankly it stinks.

I don't think there's anything wrong with starting a youtube channel to make an income. That's what it is for most youtubers - once they have enough followers, it's their job.

I follow a number who have grown their channels and make their income this way. They also have sponsors, whose products they flog openly, and "patreons" who choose to support them monthly and who sometimes get extra content. I do think N&M may have overestimated the views they would get, and the ease with which they would grow an audience. I think they probably assumed they would have a few viral videos by now. Their answer to lower numbers than necessary for their lifestyle has been more content and more live content.

To address the pandemic, N&M did more "lives". Lives are, for obvious reasons, the easiest to produce, and I don't blame them for churning them out. Their hook for the pandemic has been the "lives". Some other youtubers I watch have had different strategies.

I follow a lot of youtubers travelling the world in vans who, after broadcasting some exciting videos trying to get themselves and their vehicle homes out of various countries during the beginning of the pandemic, have chosen other new narratives while still living in their vans and RVs but unable to travel - one couple is building a house in the mountains, another is converting a tumbledown stone barn in Portugal into a home, an Italian couple renovated/repaired a simple and inexpensive house and garden in the Italian countryside, another totally rebuilt their tiny-house bus to travel the UK, and another just bought a cabin in the woods in Canada to winterize and live in as they do it. The episodes have a storyline, and there's a lot of drama in stories of couples learning how to build a house as they build a house!

I think the best strategy for N&M would have been to do something as a family during lockdown. Something that would have allowed us to see them grow. All the couples I've mentioned above have grown through the experiences they have documented. They have all been challenged, and they have all grown. So has their viewership.

N&M might have used the lockdown to address the clutter/hoarding issue in a real way. It would have been interesting to see them show us the problem, and then actually get up on the non-LW days and fix it. Day by day, argument by sensible argument, struggle by struggle, but all moving forward, even if with difficulty. There would then be a story arc. There would be a reason to watch. They would actually be overcoming their difficulties in a way that might comfort and inspire others. And they would actually improve their lives and the lives of their children. They could work, via distance technology, with an organizer and coach, who could keep them focused and moving forward.

I'd watch that, and I'd cheer them on.
I think you're right. I follow possibly the same Italian couple who had to get home from Argentina, moved into his small house up the mountains, renovated a small van, and are now touring Italy. Great vloggers, fab drone shots, music and great editing.
What you said on the last thread about Nadia's ADHD it so true. I watch an American vlogger, she's about 41 and was only diagnosed at 38, and takes meds now. The difference it has made to her life, she says, is incredible. She explains in detail how it used to affect her, and it sounds so like Nadia. But I guess you have to want to change, Nadia has mentioned ADHD but never in a very serious way.
Anyway, if definitely explains some of her behaviours, but not all. By a long shot!

Yes, I'm afraid that's all quite true. You don't miss a thing, Misbehaving!

PS: I adore your precise use of "cosmopolitan"!

Yes, that's them! And you sometimes get an authentic Italian cooking lesson that you might actually want to use, and an Italian language lesson! All wrapped up in some excellent videography and editing.

I guess no one thing explains everything of who each of us is, but I think ADD/ADHD is a key piece of Nadia.

Unless mistaken, the entire exchange has now been deleted ... 😡😡 such a sad sad despote... get a real life Manky 👋👋 ... and a real job ..
But thanks to Misbehaving there's a back up here on tattle as proof that all is not cosy and rosy in their 'family'.
It's certainly emoji, though :sneaky: 🌈🌈🌈🌈(y)(y)(y)(y)

I agree 💯 Misbehaving M is a complete xenophobe and N is beyond ignorant - I can't believe her 70s 'foreign accents' are allowed on TV. Everyone of her age grew up on Love Thy Neighbour - they now appreciate it wasn't funny.

I will not forget this 👇 spectacular display of ignorance where they decided all black people were victims, especially as they regularly laugh about stereotypes of black people on memes - they truly are offensive.

I couldn't find any of the referenced topics when I followed that link, but I did see a clip from an episode of LW, in June, where they were talking about pornography and protecting their kids online. Stacie was talking about how closely she monitors her 12 year old in his What's App group. Nadia said she didn't, but that Stacie's child was younger, and maybe she would if hers were not teenagers. Didn't Kiki just turn 13? Are they not just a year apart? She also said: "Maybe I've just given up."

Just a few weeks ago, Lisa was all over Mark in Nadia's house in a blatant breach of covid restrictions.

Now that London's in lockdown tier 2 (where indoor meetings are banned...), she's outdone herself in record time. Nadia's got her 87 year old, diabetic, overweight father pictured sitting at her kitchen table. What could go wrong?

If you're going to break lockdown rules, at least do it in a way that isn't going to kill someone.

Oh i love that post it sums up in a nutshell why i find them so troubling this narrative of victimisation that seeps into their personal life and contaminates everything it touches.
Its not empathy!!! Its patronising and dehumanising and deeply offensive as it objectifies yet claims to be kind.
It literally makes me sick they have virtue signalling down to a fine art and you know they believe their own bullshit they pass it on they expect praise for it.I know self knowledge is a bitter pill to swallow for daydreamers and people who think they mean well but i'm sorry its lies and lies again. You can't just bloody traipse through life going tra la la living in some dystopian fantasy world where you live as a king and cast a glance or spare a crumb for the little people (subjects subs!) sighing and fretting over what should be done.. oh gimme a break as if they have the solutions to the worlds problems! As a final point its been my personal experience that those that talk about victims (accompanied as it is with hand wringing theatrics and the rest) are actually if truth be known closet predators.

I'd watch that, and I'd cheer them on.
1) They'd already made a head start with The Vanishings:
x2 trailers and a 'series announcement' no less, set in their own home, performed solely by N and Maddie, filmed and edited by M. What was the barrier to continuing with the project?

Episodes dropping from the 1st March 2019! (M's promise, not mine.)

2) They'd already done a photo shoot for their vow renewal:

They could have planned that. :ROFLMAO:

3) One day they started a film project in the lounge where M play a pilot or something and the girls made sound effects. It was tit.
4) One day M started rewriting the lyrics to something for N to 'perform'. They gave up. It was tit.

Sorry but I can't be bothered to search for the evidence of 3 and 4 - It's all tit.

It's impossible to cheer on (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)YTubers who can't be bothered.
The YTubers you've mentioned NotJustMeThen sound inspirational. M has a panic attack at the mention of putting up a shelf.
