It’s unfair and foolish to live with a new partner before you truly ‘know’ them
I agree with this, but can any of us ever truly know our partners or predict that they’ll turn abusive? There are women who’ve been happily and safely married decades that suddenly find themselves victims of domestic abuse because xyz has changed and partner is now a very different person, it feels like criticism more easily thrown at women who aren’t married as part of the whole anti single mum schtick. Not saying you’re doing that here but it’s not just strangers who can turn around and do horrible things.

The only thread I miss is the MLM thread which is great fun and like here (slightly gentler perhaps)
Code names for the Top bots and poking fun at their Network marketing shite. They know their stuff and it stopped a predatory hun getting their claws into me.

I asked a friend about this and, once she finished laughing, said she hadn't seen a job advertised with LWA in *years*. I was quite shocked as I remembered it being the thing when looking at London jobs, starting out myself about a decade ago.
Well all the public service jobs include london weighting, they have informed all DOH, NHS I X E and DHSC staff if they do not return to the office they will remove it. Staff elsewhere in the country doing the same job do not get the same rate, hence the distance that many staff travel into London

I kind of like seeing how outraged the ones with chips on their shoulders are though.

Very sneery about any class threads but there they are, posting on every single class thread about how awful other people are to care about class.

I had plenty of those quinoa kids around for play dates. They demolished our pantry. They’re usually the ones at birthday parties gorging on as much junk as possible as they’re so deprived then end up sugar crashing!
I was one of them. Was never allowed chocolate or sweets as a child so now I have no self control 😂 I did the Boston marathon and ate 3 packs of haribo and 12 (yes 12!) Mars bars over 42km while passing everyone munching on their bananas and energy gels 😋 🍫
I had a couple of these kids in my scout group and I remember one Christmas family night they kept coming over to the tea and coffee stall and helping themselves to handfuls of biscuits. They must have eaten about two dozen between them in the space of about 10 minutes. They just kept coming back for more, despite being told to leave some for other people. Their parents were both scout leaders so I think they thought they could get away with it and they wouldn't stop them or make a scene!

There's a thread on there at the moment, very strange woman. She doesnt want her husband to pick their daughter up from uni to come home for Christmas because a) she doesnt like the daughter much and b) she'd have to look after 3 younger kids, 2 with special needs for a whole 7 hours. I cant fathom it out at all. Of course there's a lot of competitive 4 Yorkshiremen style tales of epic journeys home from uni. Anyway the OP replies in very short sentences or just an emoji, doesnt want to elaborate or anything.
I sort of agree with her though, if the DD is becoming a spoilt stuck up madam it's time to start saying No and make her stand on her own two feet more. When I was a student I'd hate to have spent hours locked up in a car with family, I'd much rather have taken the train and I certainly wouldn't have asked or expected my parents to anyway

I ventured on to the Autumn What Are You Wearing thread and it was a good thing that I can't post there. There a right couple of clown garments but they were good brands.

There were a lot of "I really want an X with Y in [colour] Z" and I would just have said, well make your own then! (Looking at the sale pure wool for two jerseys to make for the winter, loads of sock yarn, and the basket full of dress patterns... 😁.)

They just think it makes them sound so superior to judge people in that way.

Just read another couple of mumsnet sayings;
“Bonus points for..”
“..makes my teeth itch”
Why can’t they just talk in normal human terms 🤔
"Raging for you" is one I particularly hate.

So funny as the one person I know who works in cyber security for the Australian government is the one person I know who has had his bank account hacked three times just in 2021. And has multiple daily pictures of his children posted online almost daily! So probably not the greatest example 😆

There is no sense of community there, its too serious for me.
It doesn't do much for women really.

It saddens me in some respects because the posts I've seen sound like there are kiddos who desperately need a mum who'll just give them cuddles and time and carbs 🙄🤣

When I used to do kids parties for my teenagers, I'd buy vegan/gluten/everything free versions as well as a generic cake because it would crush me having a kid left out due to dietary. The idea of leaving the actual child out is evil and knocks my stomach sick, no need.
I accidentally hit the laugh reaction on your post, quickly changed it though. Yes it really is awful to other them. And to what end?

Interesting but slightly disturbing thread about a mum who is sad about her daughter not wanting to come back from a visit to her neighbours. There’s something really off about the thread, and the neighbours sound really sus, but the op is having none of it!
After that comment I went on AIBU and found that. I know it’s a horrible state of affairs when you have to be suspicious of *everyone* but we as a society know far more now than we ever did before when children were told to be seen & not heard and advocacy for SA victims was low? I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and something they repeat is if an adult wants to spend time with your child voluntarily then 🚨🚨🚨. I love my neighbours, once my LO is awake we’re going over there for Sunday lunch, but there’s no way in god’s earth I’d be sat at home having a cup of tea if she was over there alone?!!! Especially that young where they can’t advocate for themselves?!

There was a thread earlier where the Op’s daughter does dancing and was told off by her friend for dancing instead of walking normally. She deliberately goaded her pal and ended up on the ground with a hurt arm. The OP is more bothered that her mum friend bitched about her daughter than the fact that her daughter was rude to her friend.
I read this one “you’re too ugly to dance” like someone’s face has any correlation to their ability to dance.
