One of the threads that made me chuckle was when a woman said was it bad to pretend her child was under 2 or 3 to get into a theme park for free? I thought everyone did it but not on MN obviously, queue 1000 holier than thou Mumsnetters saying how dishonest it is and the businesses could go under. 🙄🙄

I think it’s probably damaging to families and people’s home lives. My wife is a very smart and very clever person but even she was taken in by it at first, as she now acknowledges as she laughs at the state of it.

but here’s the rub. She arrived on that site when she was vulnerable. Trying for a baby. Being pregnant. Having PND etc.

not long after she started using mumsnet she was railing with a mad zeal against porn, which she had enjoyed previously. And if I disagreed with her about anything, like how long a chicken had been in the oven or whether we had agreed to do something then suddenly I was “gaslighting” and it was “potentially abusive”.

I was actually really worried. If it could get under the skin of someone like her then what might it do to others?

we joke about it now, but I have no doubt it causes damage in family life all over the place. It’s an insidious cultural poison.

I knew Mumsnet was going to the dogs when people started putting 'lighthearted' in the title. I mean WTAF?

Mumsnetters are the *worst*. It's good sense to lock the door, surely? Also from an insurance point of view if you were burgled and the door was unlocked you'd be pretty screwed

Ah, the MN food threads. Has anyone mentioned the MN chicken on it? They allow two slivers of chickens with a roast dinner that’s so thin you can see through them so they can eke it out over 3 years in curries and sandwiches and stock. When questioned, they’ll say that they also have 7 sorts of potatoes with it and a greengrocers worth of veg. And I just think, sure you do. If you’re that stingy with the meat, it’s more likely that it’s one roast potato between 4 people and a pea each.
Food threads are always divided between the competitive under eaters who are aghast that anyone can eat more than two crisps a month and the ones who can trough an entire pig for breakfast (I’m with the latter).
Nice to see we’re onto Christmas dinners though and we’ve moved on from ‘massive salad’ summer.
Yeah I have noticed regarding the chicken. They can make several meals out a chicken. A roast dinner, sandwiches for lunch, a curry out of it and then a soup from the carcass.

Like how little do you eat if a normal sized chicken is able to feed you, your partner and your little angels for more than 2 days?

I am convinced half of the competitive under-eaters are scoffing their face the second the hubby and kids are gone out or gone to bed. Or just outright lying.

I don't post on mumsnet any more but I do read it for entertainment purposes. When I did post I found that I ended up moderating my posts to be the most bland, inoffensive ever because they would literally jump on every little thing that you said.
It’s my last go to on the internet now when I am so bored that I would read the back of a toothpaste packet to pass the time. Way below tattle, the sidebar of shame etc. It’s so boring
All of it, the trolls, troll hunters, virtue signallers, show offs. Nothing changes.

There is a thread on the style board about eyebrows.

the poster has stated she has uneven brows (very obvious)

a poster who is a ‘beautician’ says they are fine, jeez would hate to see the state of her clients after a treatment if she thinks they look fine 🤣

Yeah their kids are now going to have a guilt attachment to certain foods instead of a healthy one which is that a bit of cake is no big deal in moderation

They probably think saying they're a mental health professional will out them, same as when they think saying their DH's mystery hobby is cycling will out them. Sad cows.
It’s bizarre when you consider the NHS is the country’s biggest employer so it’ll be near on impossible to track you down! But I don’t think many of them have much wider world knowledge, if it’s not happening down their street they’ve got no interest 😬

Is she under the same username? When I was new to MN, I think I might have had an argument with her about school nativities/performances. I thought all the kids should get a go, but she said it was right that only the most talented should get to perform (like her daughter, who had a natural stage presence, apparently). We were talking about infants/nursery.
No, look on any thread about money, range rovers, tummy tucks or grammar schools. Peaceandlove

OMG I saw this thread earlier, not surprised it’s been deleted 😂😂
Did the stuff actually arrive? Things like this always happen on mn where they share the glitches/errors but the stuff never arrives!
Some people on the thread said their stuff had already arrived! It was carnage when they all started turning on each other 😂

It's pathetic isn't it. The way they try and control the conversation. Like no one is ever allowed to talk about Madeline Macann.

I thought Karl was arrested after the incident as well. If it wasn't him have they said who it was?

Sorry to lower the tone, but it always amazes me how many of them claim to never fart in front of their ‘DH’. There are some who’ve been married for 20 plus years and have never farted in front of them. Do they have corks stuck up their backsides or something?

I mean if you can’t trump in your own home when can you? Everyone farts, it’s natural and normal.
Surely the majority if not all of them have birthed in front of their partners…? Have they not once been unwell either? We’ve had a whole 18+ month period of confinement too?!

They always sneer at Primark, B & M and shops like that and say how bad they are for the environment but like other people, I've got lots of Primark items from at least 8 years ago and they still look great whereas I bought a Top from M & S and it looked wrecked after just one wear. Plus I love Primark PJs.

The how old am I selfie threads are always a hoot and nearly always deleted.

Not to mention the nativity on the village green where all the teenagers participate and don’t act bored or slope off
Probably the same teenagers who eat nothing but lentils for each meal and wait at the stairs each night waiting for mummy to give them their goodnight kiss before bed time.

Teenagers would rather be smoking in a field pissed on cider

I imagine them all to be like Emma Thompson’s character in Love Actually. Middle aged women (no shade there, as I’m one myself) who have a very privileged lifestyle and say they vote Labour but are secret Tories. They have farty arse part time jobs like knitting consultant, while their husbands work in the city and earn ‘six figures’ and they say they have a very happy marriage but the ‘DH’ is shagging his PA. Subconsciously they know this, but on the ‘He’s Cheated!’ threads, they’ll come on and give it Billy Big Bollocks about if their partner ever did that, they’d string him up by his arse cheeks and use his testicles for earrings. They wouldn’t.

Weird how you can get all that from a necklace 🤣
This is perfection. Literally everyone on Mumsnet 😂👌🏻

I don't lock my door if I'm in during daylight hours but then I'm in a farm cottage with a pack of dogs that let me know if anyone is even thinking of approaching the gate. When I lived in a city, of course I bloody locked my door at all times.
