The farting thread is hilarious. The amount of them who claim they say ‘break wind’ instead of fart or trump is pathetic.

The drinking thing is incredible. Nobody drinks. Well, maybe a shared bottle of wine with “DH”
once a month, but no more than that. Can this really be true? All these middle class mums? I just don’t believe it, but why would you lie on an anonymous forum?

I have a large glass of red wine every night, which firmly places me in the “problem drinker” category according to MN. Oh well.

I’m always tempted to put ‘ have a tidy round before you start posting pictures, your house is a tip’ 😂. The Huns would be all over me like a rash.
When they are in shoes and/or coats in the bedroom to take a picture in the mirror…so they have actually got totally ready to step out the door, but then gone back upstairs just to take a picture for a mumsnet thread! They are all so vain, makes me cringe 🥴

I used to laugh at the can I leave the kids in the car while I pay for petrol threads. Some of the posters were nuts. Cars blowing up was given as a reason and you getting knocked down returning to the car after paying for petrol (ignoring the fact that if you were carrying a child they would be also knocked down.

I wonder how many 112 calls start with ‘someone on mumsnet advised me to ring’ 🤪
Tsssk don‘t you know that cars blow up in petrol stations all the time..😉😂

Theres a thread on there at the moment from someone asking for meals you can make for a family when you are broke and While there are some very helpful suggestions some are obviously clueless about being poor. One suggests using ham hock and another a pasta recipe with Parmesan! I mean ffs when you are on the bones of your arse you’d be lucky to be able to afford a packet of Walls wafer thin ham and a block of Cathedral City! Parmesan and Ham Hock are luxury items IMO. They really do piss me off.

I'm planning a wedding at the moment and this annoys me. I don't care if you got married in your lunch break, wearing your overalls from work, had a quick McDonald's and back to the job. If that's your dream wedding, great! But others are free to spend their money on whatever they want
Yep . Horses for courses . Ive been to top notch 25k+ weddings and bog standard islington register office . Both very fond memories. And ones in between I can't remember
Ive been with Mr Duck 26 years . Never married , 3 children and a grandbaby. I want 2 randoms to come witness it and a piss up in the ' VIP ' area of my local ' spoons because I like it , I work there and get a discount. We like the prawns £10.95 for 3 plates , if I drink in there Mr Duck insists I bring home prawns . I like , he likes , what's not to like.. paying silly amount for family I dont even see from one year to the next and to get pissed at my expense can do one ..

But I AM the only person in the whole of the UK doing my work, if I told you I'd probably have to kill you?! It's not top secret or involving people's lives, but there is only ME doing it. If Mr Jeaver had a hobby (apart from red wine and watching F1 and sometimes being incredibly irritating) I couldnt tell you that either :ROFLMAO:

I was just thinking about the nutters over there when I used a rotisserie chicken in a curry. They would get through to New Years with it where as I ate some and put the rest in my curry. Didnt even make 70 gallons of soup with the bones.
Like it’s a chicken not Jesus’s banquet of fish and bread. There’s only so much you can do with it.

Idk how little portions they actually give if they’re getting more than 2 meals out of an ordinary chicken

I kind of agree that it’s not good for kids to have loads of different men passing through. Not saying don’t do it, but just make sure the kids aren’t there or likely to see it.

Wait, are you not suppose to wear black with colours? So I can't wear black jeans with a pink top? Or black tights and a coloured dress. I've never heard anything so stupid, no wonder they all look so dowdy.

What do I wear under my rainbow cardi then?

Possibly controversial so I’m sorry if I offend anyone but I’m absolutely staggered by how many times I see “LTB”. I know some people will absolutely leave a relationship if they feel a line has been crossed and they have every single right to do so but sometimes couples try to work things out first especially if they have children and they should be completely supported in their choice if both parties are capable of moving on and living a good life together. I know couples who have a had things happen in their relationship that would definitely get a LTB on MN but they’ve really worked at their relationship and made it work. Obviously this doesn’t work in every scenario but life is very rarely black and white.
Exactly this! Obviously if a man is genuinely abusive and the woman is in danger then leaving is the sensible option, but like you say it’s not always black and white and when children and joint finances are involved it’s not always that easy.

After lurking for months on the celeb forum, I've just made a tattle account to reply here. 😄

I've been on mumsnet for a good eight years now, and I am convinced that a huge number of posters are a) not female, b) not mums, and c) either shills, trolls or commissioned content providers.

Some of the responses on childcare threads, not that there are many of those around anymore, are frankly batshit. Some posts on certain current affairs threads are quite obviously from male political activists. The nastiness in some posts over really mundane stuff is just bizarre. I was reading a thread last night where there was a horrifically venomous post over a comment someone had made about public health in third world countries.

But the bit that really makes me suspicious is that mumsnet posts, in general, are just too well-written to be real. I've been an editor for twenty years, and the quality of linguistic expression across that site is strange. No bunch of self-selecting people consistently write that well, even academics. It's almost as though specialist writers have been commissioned to provide post content.
I very much agree. I’ve suspected for a while there’s a lot of men and activists on there. The posts are too long to be written on a mobile, and if you’re a mum whose got time to draft war and peace on the merits of brexit?!
Wouldn’t surprise me if mumsnet add their own content in as well. What drives more traffic than click bait thread titles and arguing? Funny how they criticise the daily Mail but MN is the same playbook.

Agree referring to yourself as a HCP is a bit weird cos you’d just say your specialism, but I’ve been in hospital a fair bit and I always say HCP as a catch all cos I know there’s SO many different specialities and training levels within them that it feels more respectful than potentially getting it wrong, I hope no one would think I was either pretentious or snobby as a patient 😬😬😬
They probably think saying they're a mental health professional will out them, same as when they think saying their DH's mystery hobby is cycling will out them. Sad cows.

A lot of mass contradictions on Mumsnet with the petrol shortage. One minute they're saying everyone's too dependent on cars and how everyone should walk more or use public transport.

Then they're saying they can't do that for all the reasons mentioned above and a lot of excuses about not being able to walk in the rain so back to using their cars again 🤷‍♀️

Tattle also has an edit button and the website is much more modern than Mumsnet. The emojis are better and I love the fact you can add gifs too. Mumsnet's website is too clunky and like people have said stuck in the mid 90s to 2000.

I meant to add in my other post that posters demanding proof to back up their opinion reminds me of being at school.

The Centre Parcs thing goes over my head. I used to think it was a holiday camp under a gigantic perplex bubble (bit like the Eden Project) so that if it rains all the activities can carry on. I thought that was it’s USP. But recently found out that isn’t the case. Never understood the “kudos” given to it by MN, even less so now I know it is a holiday camp with nothing extra to define it from other camps. And then the clique alludes to sexual activity- I don’t know what all that is about.
