The irony is Tattle is always mentioned on there as being a ‘nasty’ website full of nasty people, but everyone on here seems far less vicious than the #be kind crew on Mumsnet…

i think it’s because here we have a collective understanding and are united in critiquing class A twats. On there its all about ego, humble brags and trying to BE the biggest twat. You know where you stand here. On there it’s a vipers nest.

Also have you seen the thread about worst behaved adult at Christmas. Soon descended into a misery contest about all kinds of abuse.

That was awful- a misery fest of who had been the worst abused. Any thread that could be light hearted gets mobbed like that.

Same as the can you tell if someone is wealthy thread, potential to be funny but no, the po faced crew turn up and spread their glumness around.

Plus the posters who profess not ever to notice class or care but be sure to always rush to post on class/wealth topics and shoehorn in that their offspring are at a ‘prestigious’ prep school.

The double standards on there annoy me. If a man does something wrong then he's 100% unreasonable but if the woman does something then she's totally in the right.

I think AIBU attitude has spread to many of the other boards on Mumsnet. A relative told me she no longer posts on the parenting board or Mumsnet in general as she got jumped on for asking for advice from other mums and she said it's not worth it anymore.

It works the other way round as well. Step mums are the literal devil. If you love the kids like they’re yours, you’re overstepping the mark and if you’re nice to them but keep your distance, you’re not doing enough and should love them like they’re yours Again, it’s one extreme to the other

Apparently the husband was out of work at the time they started claiming but when he found another job, she didn’t inform the tax credits, she just carried on claiming. None of it added up tbh. Posters were saying he should be giving here more than £600 a month as he was a high earner, but why couldn’t she go and get a job?!

Bluntness’s online persona is cringey, they’re wilfully obtuse and outright rude. The type that probably wouldn’t say boo to a goose in real life though! Although the fact they’re on almost every thread spouting crap means they’re probably a troll living in their mums dank basement, that MN are overlooking because the ensuing arguments after they post drive their website hits or something

My theory is that Bluntness and possibly some of the other well known posters who get away with murder, work for MN / are mods on another account.

That's the only reason I can think of why such awfulness is tolerated meanwhile other posters are kicked off and banned for the most ridiculous of things.

I’m on a “what are you wearing today” thread just now and I’m half howling with laughter and half sickened by a feeling of utter cringe at what I am witnessing.

So many trying to project something as well with their outfit choices. The vanity and vacuity is almost unfathomable.

I just had a look at some of the threads from this year. There isn't a well dressed one among them. It's a selection of the most blandly dressed women I've ever seen.

Tattle is one of the friendliest places on the Internet, people can disagree here without descending into chaos and name calling. It's literally the only place I participate because I really can't be fucked arguing with strangers on the Internet, I have a life

It’s the only online community (other than the MSE forums?) that I can think of that aren’t centred around commerce & pushing you to buy something / anything.

I know there are ads on tattle but it’s the same sort of ads you get on newspaper articles, and you know they are ads so can ignore them. It’s not a Gordon’s gin brand partnership with the sex and the city thread or an undeclared ad with one of ur fav posters. It’s hugely refreshing tbh and has formed a big part of my deprogramming with social media and consumption!

I remember reading a thread about a misbehaving child in a charity shop who got told off by a volunteer on there and the amount of posters who said the assistant shouldn’t have done that, she wasn’t a paid staff member and just a lowly volunteer.

It made me to be honest. People look down at volunteers as if they’re on the end of someone’s shoe.

I was banned and asked for all my posts to be deleted. It’s all our right under the ‘right to be forgotten legislation’
They grumbled amount the information for new mums etc being compromised but it’s the law. I just said I feared that my information was identifying so it all had to come off especially as I had no longer the right to reply.
if all the tattlers did the same it might be fun - it is your right especially if you think there ‘might be identifying info on there’

Has anyone heard that Mumsnet have bought Mush which is a meet up app for mum's to meet up with similar aged children.

It just seems shocking considering they were sending out begging emails to people to sign up to Premium and keeping the lights on at a time when most posters were either being made redundant or furloughed. Justine made out that Mumsnet was struggling and she'd had to take a payment holiday and now this.

Eating is a weird one for me. I don't get pleasure from stuffing my face. I do from looking in the mirror and liking what I see. And people who pig out on bad food and then moan they're fat and can't lose weight do get on my nerves a bit. But if you wanna eat whatever and be happy with it then good for you.

And tbh hearing people hear call women who don't eat loads joyless, to me feels as bad as the competitive under eaters on MN. We're all different and some of us care more about being thin than food. A lot of us don't actually like all the bad stuff either.

Fyi I don't serve or eat garlic bread, it's not worth the calories.

The women on Mumsnet are judgemental and competetive with it though. Nobody would give a fuck if they weren't going, "Oh, I couldn't possibly eat 1200 calories a day!" implying that others have no self restraint, when that's literally what you'd feed a toddler. I'm not saying people who don't eat because they're not hungry are joyless.

The whole world is judgemental of fat people. People can like what they like, but I think competitive self-deprivation and one-upmanship when life is so short is the very definition of joyless.

Its classic mn. There are already judgy comments about sun tan lotion and squash, which was not the point in the thread. An accusation of racism over sucking snot out of a babies nose. And people crying mental health over weird behaviour. Not everything is down to mental health, some people are just weird.
