Honestly i think it’s pure jealousy. I can’t wait for a child free holiday one day

Smug parents that think theyre better than you because they don't want a night out.
Not ever wanting a night out and preferring to sit at home watching TV just makes you sound boring.
Most parents like spending time with their kids. But theres nothing wrong with wanting to have some adult time. But I actually like my husband, where as most mumsnetters hate theirs, so that's probably the real reason they don't want adult time.

Tattle is much nicer than Mumsnet. The atmosphere is far nicer and it’s less as someone said “Mean girls”

I think any threads that talk about tattle get deleted.

The last one I read was dripping with superiority and calling tattlers idiots as they themselves knew Instagram was full of undisclosed adverts and it was so obvious for anyone with a brain . As if all tattle boils down to "omg I can't believe someone is posting an ad"

What really annoys me on MN is they are just sooo close minded or so in their own bubble they have no idea On anything to do with different cultures and religions.


for example someone who is asian will post about issues when living with in-laws (which is very common) and it could be simple like MIL drank my mil and no matter what the situation someone will always be like move out, I wouldn’t put up with it etc..your husband needs to stand up for you blah blah

Easy to say stuff like that but asian/middle eastern cultures it doesn’t work like that, even for someone like myself who was born and raised here, there are some cultural things we have ingrained in us

Yes, they are. They‘ll put up a photo of themselves, usually looking like a frumpy dinner lady on a day trip to the seaside and everyone wilo tell them how pretty they are.

I have two aunties who work in the NHS and as far as I know never mention work on Facebook/Social Media, I think they have to be careful about what they say on social media.

I think if I’d just worked a 12 hour shift as an ITU nurse, I’d want to sleep/chill out not argue with random people on Mumsnet.

There's a thread in active called "Argument at Christmas meal" where the OP's Dad got absolutely blinding drunk and went off on one about something. There are nearly half a dozen posts on the first page alone stating he probably has dementia

Just saw this comment on a thread about little Arthur Labinjo-Hughes. Why do so many of them struggle to accept that some women are deeply unpleasant and psychopathic and can be abusers as well? It’s a very strange place. They’re either earning a 6 figure income, or claiming every benefit under the sun (nothing wrong with that btw). There are no average wage earners who are getting by ‘just ok’. It goes from one extreme to the other depending on the topic. For example, if someone starts a thread saying anyone over 80 should have to have to retake their driving test or have a medical exam, you’ll get lots of people who apparently know 101 year olds who are single handedly building drystone walls as a hobby then go to nightclubs til 6 in the morning, 4 days a week and still have 20/20 vision. But if anyone suggests state pension age should rise by a couple of years, the thread will be full of 45 year olds who are already starting with arthritis and need help getting to the toilet because they feel elderly.
(Note: I don’t hold strong views on those topics as they’re just examples but there’s no chance of any kind of calm, nuanced debate on there)

The majority of them are liars, they want to seem like such great parents and posh. So when they’re faffing on about feeding their kids the best of the best and feeding them tiny portions yet their children are all tall, toned and sporty. Just assume they’re talking out of their arse.

All of my brothers are over 6’2, and my mam and dad would have to buy 3 chickens if they were doing a roast cause they ate so much growing up.

I think they are liars too. They all love to tell other parents how fabulous they are all the time. As someone who lives outside London, they are all very London centric too. It's ridiculous. They pretend to be so sophisticated and cosmopolitan, yet they think anywhere outside the M25 is the equivalent of living in the Middle ages, or that there are no Black or Brown people outside London! I don't know if that is just Londoners in general, or just people on Mumsnet!

Mumsnet is just awful in so many ways. The dreadful 90s interface, the fact that they tried to charge a premium membership to be able to 'edit' posts (something which is possible here), the fact that you'll be reading a thread and there's tonnes of deleted posts, the ultra competitive soccer mom keyboard warriors. Even if Mumsnet was full of the loveliest, funniest posters known to mankind I wouldn't be able to stick it due to the interface. Time for an update, Justine!

I can't get over a current post about winter coats and posters coolly replying they spend hundreds on a goose parka or whatever. And another poster basically saying how disgusting it is that other people shop in Primark buying crap that will fall apart in a year and it's bad for the environment or whatever. Err, not everyone has a fucking choice. I certainly can't afford to drop hundreds on a coat, and there are tonnes of people worse off than me.

MNers are the most crashing snobs when it comes to things like clothing brands. But conversely, you also get the anti-snobs who get a fit of the vapours during a thread about expensive bags: “I bought a rucksack 25 years ago and use it daily! I can’t imagine having a fancy bag! What a waste of money!”

Surely no one gives their cleaner a Christmas gift, they're all thieves so they've had plenty of 'gifts' anyway. And the few who aren't thieves are thick or *gag* working class, so why bother getting them a gift.
