Well looks like I’ve finally been banned from mumsnet for starting a thread saying that the teacher who was caught on camera kicking her horse during a hunt should be sacked and not allowed anywhere near children. Even though most of the replies agreed with me, there was one interesting post from someone presumably in the ‘mumsnet hierarchy’ who said they ‘disliketrial by media‘.I can only assume they reported me and the thread because that’s vanished as well. Trial be media?! The woman was filmed slapping and kicking her horse! Animal abuse is clearly acceptable on MN if the perpetrators as female and teachers by the looks of things

Part of the teacher standards is to uphold a good moral and ethical standard at all time. She is filmed slapping a horse. What more evidence is needed.

They are so woke, until anything to do with trans issues rears it’s head and they show their true colours. They are so disgustingly transphobic. I have my own issues with gender identity and people identifying as either male or female without going through proper transitioning, but trans people are still human beings and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. This all stems from the hatred of men that’s is so prevalent on there, and trans women on account of them having been born male are a soft target for their bile.

It saddens me in some respects because the posts I've seen sound like there are kiddos who desperately need a mum who'll just give them cuddles and time and carbs



When I used to do kids parties for my teenagers, I'd buy vegan/gluten/everything free versions as well as a generic cake because it would crush me having a kid left out due to dietary. The idea of leaving the actual child out is evil and knocks my stomach sick, no need.

When I worked in a day centre with LD adults, there was one who couldn’t have gluten/dairy and he nearly always had to miss out on others’ birthdays because hardly anyone could remember or be bothered to bring something he could eat. I used to always look for something for him (usually something in the free from aisle at Tesco) and he was so grateful. I think I became his favourite staff member after that.

I’d do the same for a child too. It’s so mean and cruel.

The same arseholes appear on threads where children have had a falling out and encourage the OP to get a solicitor's letter drawn up quoting the Human Rights Act and discussing the age of criminal responsibility. The Dunning-Kruger effect is strong

Thing is, the only way a massive salad is in the least bit interesting is if you douse it with a really nice dressing, which probably contains oil, and maybe egg yolks if you are going fancy, and chuck in a few croutons... and some lardons...

There’s a ‘hilarious’ thread on there this morning entitled ‘How many times do you force a banana into you’ where the OP is asking for advice about how often she should eat them because eat doesn’t like them much, but is obviously trying to be funny and clever and now the huns are saying it should be put in the classic. I wonder if I started a thread entitled ‘How many times do you force a sausage info you’ would it get the same response?

Mumsnet are very strange when it comes to deleting threads - they’re quick to delete ones about influencers/Instagrammers and yet keep others running.

They love the creative writing threads even though they know it's fake as it sucks people in and encourages all the fantasists to keep writing.

They hate the influencers ones because they are all interwoven with influencers and the brand's they do deals with.

I can't stand any posters that are so obviously making up crap for attention. It's deceitful presenting all this made up crap as if it's genuine and letting it carry on. They can't be expected to validate posters, but they know so much is made up.

Yeah OP, my husband earns £500k plus bonuses a year and still finds the time to pick up his socks, cook dinner, do the dishes, sort out the laundry, mow the lawn, sort out the weeds in the garden and run me a bath. Every night. Don't settle for less

But is £500k plus enough to live on each week? Curious to see how others manage it? Will DH be able to continue his EXPENSIVE HOBBY?

This is what I've noticed. There's barely anyone that say they're on a normal salary of say £30k and just comfortable and living within their means. Everyone's either on six figures or trying to scrape two beans together to make a meal (or both at the same time)

Ohh totally. If you went and said you earn £32k and privately rent, half of them would act like you're a millionaire because you're not earning 6p an hour and on housing benefit and the other half would tell you how they couldn't possibly survive without their husbands £150k plus bonus in his senior exec role and the profit from their seven buy to let properties and villa in the South of France. Fucking dickheads the lot of them (especially the latter).

The thing I really like about here compared to there is that conversation seems to be much more flowing, there's no piling onto someone for an unpopular opinion, more a dissection of ideas and agreement to agree to disagree without having to flame the person.

There’s currently a thread running on there about M&S Cafe now serving a macaroni cheese toastie with a side of chips and how disgustingly unhealthy this is because its ‘carbs, carbs and more carbs’, they then go onto say it’s no wonder there’s an obesity crisis, like people don’t have free will and shouldn’t be allowed an unhealthy treat once in a while. Whoever said on the previous thread that MN is effectively a pro Anna site isn’t far wrong.

The petty revenge thread is awful. Some of them border on harassment and it won’t be the posters egging the OP on who will be in trouble if the OP takes their stupid advice.

There was a neighbour dispute that ended in a stabbing last week in my hometown which ended with one man losing his life.

One of the petty revenge acts still upsets me now - where a poster kidnapped his neighbours barking dog and drove it 20 miles away and abandoned the poor thing.

I’ve heard busking as a way of raising money. Also heard become a childminder - that one annoys me because it isn’t that straightforward, I think you have to register with Ofsted and complete DBS forms etc.

Also the threads where a poster complains that they are single, lonely and fed up. The poster gets this range of advice:

1. Have you done OD?
2. Join a walking club.
3. You need to love yourself more
4. You’ll find a man when you’re not looking.
5. I’ve never had this problem, I married my hubby at 21 and if he died, I’d be happy to stay single.
6. You’re too fussy.

That was my thread!

I was 9 months pregnant and very unwell at the time, on medication that gave me a horrendous stomach. My other half went to pick up his kids from school and bring them here for tea - he didn't bother to take his keys despite knowing I ALWAYS lock the door regardless of what I'm doing or where I am in the flat because I'm in S.E London in a bad area and have been burgled during the day before. Anyway he was gone an hour and they just so happened to arrive back when I was on the toilet. I couldn't exactly leave the bathroom given the urgency of why I was in there so he had to wait 10 mins with his kids until I was out of the loo.

I got absolutely slaughtered on there by people telling me I needed to change my attitude toward my step children and that I was ridiculous for locking my door.

The snobbery towards tradesmen really grinds my goat. They are actually the new middle class. Have you ever met a poor plumber or electrician? I haven’t. Most of the men in my family are in trade so this really fucks me off actually.
