Have no idea! Think I read that on here some where...
same same, but how would another hun know it’s not like Alice had separate feeds from other people and exposed dirty laundry. She just had a bit of a witch. Controversial but I don’t think the CB stuff was overtly or covertly racist, I think that Alice didn’t like CB at all (neither do I - CB’s madam past is horrific and so much worse than anything Alice ever did or said)

But not liking CB doesn’t make Alice racist (or me) it’s disliking one person and there’s no other comments or actions that suggests that it’s any bigger than disliking one individual and I think it’s wide of the mark to make her out to be a racist

I think she (or her management) thought if you own it and apologise it’ll blow over... obviously not

A lot of the huns were saying at the time that people didn't know what was going on "behind the scenes". The suspicion that Clemmie was Alice had been raised here, then sort of confirmed by the St Lucia thing. It went away for a bit, then it all started being talked about again on here, and then all of a sudden MOD had confessed!! We all know the huns read here- so presumably they read the comments about Alice/MOD and someone put 2 and 2 together. But it's always been my opinion that the "behind the scenes" stuff referred to Clem's real life behaviour. Theres no way she was found out purely because of this site, if she really was as lovely and #womensupportingwomen irl as she liked to make out, then she probably could have bluffed her way out of it. I think she's not particularly pleasant irl, so it wasnt a huge stretch for them to believe she WAS Alice, confront her, and then turn on her at the speed of light.

you’re totally right.

we need someone to expose it all. Not just the Alice tattle stuff. Someone to tell us what really goes on.

clemmie could have done the expose.

It actually infuriates me that some of her fans, on the back of her (lame af) apology, believe she came here to "defend her and her family"!!! She came here to slag off CC, and her little fingers carried on tapping. She should right a book "Queen Bee to Tattle Troll: an influencers story".

I agree, it’s pathetic. I think she would have jumped at the chance to do a big expose on it all only that would have meant telling the whole story and then droves and droves of her followers would have come here expecting to see a few posts defending her family but would have actually found reams of bitchy comments about her so-called friends. I think that’s why her apology was so brief; she would not have wanted to direct her followers here to see the ugly details of it all... we know she’s arrogant and I think she thought she was so elevated within the barfsome IG community that laying low for a while would let it blow over and she could return, perhaps with the #reno content and that would be that. But it’s done for her, Alice was a massive story - lots of the press ran it, didn’t one of the broadsheets do a pardody of what life in the Hooper household would be like at Christmas? People who had no idea who she was now know about her, she chased fame and ended up with infamy and to a degree, she will always be known as ‘disgraced instamum Clemmie Hooper’ now. This kind of thing just sticks doesn’t it. I’m not sure where I stand on her ?racist comments about CB (who is a truly vile woman) but the R word will follow Clemmie around and most people won’t bother to educate themselves on exactly what was said and make up their own minds.
Didn’t someone say that the Pukka’s had a hand in exposing Alice? And didn’t GP post something about the importance of always telling the truth on her IG a few days before the story ‘broke’? Maybe there were suspicions within the ‘mama gang’ for a while and perhaps Clemmie had been denying it? It’s all so cringe!

I have a feeling that Clemmie-Alice's thoughts weren't restricted to Tattle. I think she probably admitted to some of the instashams that she was Alice but then went on to really piss someone off which triggered the expose.

Re racism...

I think the important thing is the context, the fact that CH was employed by the NHS and invited CB onto her podcast to share about her traumatic birth story. Black women are however many times more likely than white women to die in labour or have a worse labour experience and sociologists etc attribute that to racial prejudices. Now that’s not saying that every midwife and doctor etc is an outright racist, but we are all socialised in a way and hold inherent beliefs about different groups of people/races. So if a midwife believes black women to be loud/hysterical/dramatic (these are old tropes btw not my beliefs!) you can see why a black woman in distress wouldn’t get the immediate help that a white woman (who midwife doesn’t believe to be any of these things) does. Ergo complications ensue etc etc, and the midwife probably doesn’t even realise that her unconscious bias led to her holding off an intervention etc? Like it’s that subtle but it’s 100% there.

Knowing this is a “thing” it was particularly stupid for Clem, NHS employee and birth advocate or whatever the duck she marketed herself as, to comment on anything to do with CB and race. It clearly overstepped a line and showed a lack of understanding of/compassion for the issue.

It really showed her up to be ruthlessly fake & nasty and is really damaging for the #brand. I also think CB is ghastly and I don’t like a lot about her, I think her content is weak tbh. I haven’t seen the madam video has anyone got it? She’s lucky Twitter is full of middle class priv school girls who say all work is sex work forgetting that their kids will be marketing managers like them, not the care leavers / immigrants / sexual abuse victims disproportionately represented in sex worker groups. But that’s another essay !

Totally agree! Context is everything in this situation and it’s astounding that under the guise of Alice she felt she could make such an ill thought and dubious comment. I don’t think I really believe MoD is racist per se but that comment was so incredibly inappropriate on all of the levels you have described. Thank you!

I think that anyone who’s grown up white in Britain has some degree of racial prejudice in them, tbh. Even if you’ve grown up not white in Britain, I had an Asian friend who was really colourist to our black mate which was pretty bleak but that was the result of the caste system she had been taught by her parents and she had to get into RL tit to realise it’s not ok? It is up to us to unlearn it and challenge it when we hear our mates saying things they’ve clearly not fully considered? Or when thoughts pop up in your head challenge yourself as to why you’ve been led to believe that to be true.

I think class intersects w it cos if you’ve grown up minted chances are you grew up in white suburbia and haven’t had exposure to a diverse group of friends at school or down your street etc, so nothing suggests to the contrary of what your parents / the papers / colleagues etc say. Even worse is I think a lot of white MC women are really attracted to care giving roles as they have saviour complexes about helping the poors and minorities (some of the things I’ve heard I truly despair at) as they believe white rationality to be the peak of development and a gift for them to bestow?? Tbh keen not to doxx myself but I was fostered and my foster parents are very much in this camp and it’s super uncomfortable to be around.

Edit: I’m talking from a super London centric POV sorry I have no idea what growing up poor or wealthy is like anywhere else in the UK I’ve barely been about

Yep 👆 perfectly put @heretoreaditall2019 - also the thing about racism/sexism/disability discrimination is not how everyone perceives it, but how it makes that person or class of people feel. So as a white woman I can’t say wether it is or isn’t racist but neither can Clemmie. Women of colour are the only people that can determine how that made them feel. That’s why you don’t bring things like race into a throw away comment on a public forum, you certainly don’t do that when you’ve used that person on your podcast to highlight the plight of that particular race in relation to your “specialised subject” and you absolutely DON’T do that when you are pretending to be that persons friend irl!
I write stuff on here and I’m a nobody, I’m not trying to build a brand and I’m not a celebrity (well except for in my wildest dreams), but even some of the stuff I write is pretty raw and on the edge and I sometimes look and think...duck that’s a bit naughty/rude/insulting af...but tomorrow if I’m outed as me nobody loses anything. Clemmie came on here, knowing her position as a midwife, as an influencer, as a wife, as a friend and went Fuxking bonkers slaying people...she didn’t think for one minute of the consequences and that, I think, is her MO...as witnessed on the reality TV show. She does what she wants “in the moment” and duck everything...it’s very self destructive and you can forgive that of a 19/20 year old student but not a thirty something professional, who has used that profession to build her Instagram business, a mother of 4 girls and an “influencer” with massive reach. No, Clemmie has no filter and no moral compass so she can’t come back because her history shows she can’t control her inner twit so she’s always gonna offend someone.
