He would have got a hefty advance but it’s split into 3 - a third on signing the deal, another on actually delivering the book, then the rest on pub.
If the book doesn’t earn more than the advance the author gets nothing else.

I work in the industry and when his book came in on acquisitions (around 2/3 years ago ) I went out of my way to discourage it and we didn’t offer on it. I remember him being quoted as saying he wanted to sell more books than Clemmie, oops didn’t happen

We also had Budget Clemmies book “proposal” ( a few lists scrawled on the back of a fag packet) and I don’t think ANYONE offered her a deal. I live in fear of it making a reappearance.

She always looked a bit dead behind the eyes to me, and I'm not surprised. Looking through her home I was thinking it’s clear family wealth is behind this, and then see this unnecessary and racist post? I don’t get why ppl outside of London (guessing so from her voice) come here to be snooty racist cunts? A pair of white AF1s cost under £80. Entirely because I’ve had an utterly tit day our painter and decorator has bleeping trashed our hall carpet that didn’t *need* replacing (but we were going to as it is a bit glam gran) and now I’m pregnant with stairs I don’t feel safe with! £600 down the shitter to get that fixed when we’re paid next week.
