She acts like she absolutely loves Christmas but every year her obsession seems fake to me? She never puts any effort into Christmas Day for her family, it’s all for her. She never goes out during vlogmas to any Christmas events or markets. All she does is watch Christmas movies that SHE likes.

What does she do for the family in that house? Lee works full time, cleans the house, does the food shop, baths and looks after milo, does the ironing, buys and wraps the presents and walks the dog
She is in charge of the DIY and rearranging the furniture!
I can't imagine, even if Lee bought the gifts, not having a conversation with your hubby about what gifts you were planning to get?! It's a bizarre to me.
Mind you, I didn't liaise with mine for our sons last birthday and we both bought the same thing

Then the reality sets in and she realises she isn’t Elle Fowler in her swanky LA apartment buying seasonal candles, looking at the fake snow in The Grove like Lauren Conrad in The Hills circa 2005 and drinking eggnog.
She lands with a thud in Donny to a grey world where buying everything seasonally is really new and mostly sneered upon.
She doesn’t like a Christmas, she craves commercialism and spending.

She should do a quick stop at Home Bargains/Superdrug and buy the boy a new toothbrush.

i think that’s it really - it’s just another excuse for her to spend money predominately on herself. Any excuse will do and that.. it’s horrible to watch especially as it will just breed more materialism and well, it would be a shame for her to ruin her kids understanding and appreciation of money at their ages. More Miks?! No thanks..god she’s already tried to make a go of milo hasn’t she? Poor lad. Why?? It’s not fair. Let kids be kids. And well, parents be parents!

I feel sorry for her, she's missed out on all the fun bits of parenting, she's done barely anything child orientated for her kids over the years, it's all about her. The sad part is she's totally oblivious/disinterested in what she's missing out on. She'll be in for a shock if milo gets married, she's definitely the narcissistic, over bearing drama queen mother in law you'd feel no guilt about shutting out of your lives.

Oh my god chartreuse, spot on. Sometimes when I make comments about what sort of mum she is, I think my god I sound preachy and hippy, and I am totally not that type of mum. It’s hard, it’s challenging, it’s testing, but you hot nail on the head, it’s fun, amusing, ever changing, wacky.. so many feelings you feel. And you’d be mad to miss it all.. it’s all part of parenting.

Very reminiscent of my own I suspect - a now lonely, but selfish one, whose glory days have long gone and now her own family only see her out of duty… sad really. But totally self imposed. god I just re read your last two lines - that’s me and my MIL!! Down to a T! I had to shut that book. Don’t need the drama when I have little kids to look after and my own life to run!
I think Milo is quite young for his age. The latest vlog shows him walking through Meadowhall holding Lee's hand. I don't think you'd find many almost 11 year olds who'd be happy to hold their dad's hand in public.
I agree, she likes the Christmas aesthetic. Any of the things that actually make Christmas magical such as watching your kids open their gifts, spending time with family or taking time out is not what she places significance on. She is interested in what stuff she can but to make a good Insta post or vlog.
I did laugh when she was in TK Maxx saying “ah you can’t get this brand in the UK, it’s anAmerican blogger brand” Mik, you’re stood in TK Maxx in Donny, you obviously can get it in the UK

The party set up looks as tragic as I thought. The sign she made is terrible. And the ‘photo booth’ in the utility room? Nice.
Collecting more furniture again. Sideboard that doesn’t go in the living room, discoloured old sofa and a cupboard she’s ruined with poorly put on tiles.
I always think after filming in there for years, she’s always very brief when in the living room since painting and buying ‘that’ chair. I don’t know, awkward about filming in there? Or bored now it’s ‘finished’?

I noticed the 6 cookies and looked at the cookie website , it’s £28 for 6 but I imagine Mik got them as a freebie or discounted? She’s tagged that cookie company before. They do look well made but they are pricey. However if they were free how tight is Mik - 6 looked a bit pathetic for a ‘party’.
It's so obvious there was hardly anyone at the party - barely any of that cake had been eaten. It's so embarrassing.
She's uploaded a video about discontinued make up because that's all she owns. You couldn't make it up!
