I don't think she'd venture up into the attic and they don't seem to come downstairs unless his parents are out ..so god knows ,she must just let them get on with it .

That is so strange. Like I understand that they don't want to have to be entertaining Melanie and Thomas and enjoy their own life but I'd be soooo offended if my son and his wife were living in MY house, in MY attic and barely coming downstairs to contribute to the household in a social way. Do they eat dinner together? The arrangement is strange. I understand multi-generational and living with his rents but wouldn't you want to be a part of his family? So creepy.

I mean..... who eats dinner in bed? I get she's just had a baby and can't move around a lot but I have never seen Melanie eat anything downstairs... I'm sure there's times where Thomas' family cooks for them and Melanie and Thomas just go off and eat upstairs...... In my household this wouldn't fly.... They don't even have a dining area or just simple table to eat at..... Creeps.

They probably let them stay because what's the alternative? We know they're not going to rent somewhere. The alternative is staying at Melanie's dad's and although she'd be more likely to socialise with her dad, Thomas's parents probably wouldn't get to see the baby at all then.

EXACTLY! Sure, there'd be moments where you'd just want some time with your child and your husband but cmon! It's her grand kid?!!! What a psycho. What's even more odd is that Melanie never discusses her mother and if her mum has met the child. I understand her mum is private and doesn't want to be discussed but I assume thomas' mum is the same but Melanie seems to talk about her a lot more..... Weirdos....

Yeah it's odd and quite frankly I have no explanation other than that they don't get along that well? But Thomas is their son so they just kind of put up with it maybe!?

I mean sure crack on but like you said it’s odd that she acts as if they’re living alone... she never mentions regulars things like: “Pan is with his grandmother” or “having lunch with thomas’ family” it’s just odd. Sorry. It’s off.

How long before the baby makes an appearance on her YouTube channel? For someone with over 600,000 subscribers she doesn't get many views. Her pregnancy videos did already view-wise but that video she uploaded two days ago hasn't even reached 20,000 views yet.

well she constantly say's the baby is glued to her and that he's feeding non stop ,so maybe she doesn't give the MIL much time with him and they might feel awkward asking ,although on her stories a couple of nights ago Thomas had the baby downstairs and had brought him up because he was sick over himself so maybe the family spend time with him then when she's not around .

I had an ex when I was younger and his mother was soooooooo annoying that we would quite literally hide from her where possible. We were teens and she would always be telling us what to do/ how to do it/where not to go.... nagging mom at teens.

As an adult you stop behaving that way, even if you don't like someone's advice, you understand it's your partners mother and you grin and bear it... Melanie can't handle critique as an adult woman, hence hiding in the attic. Hence the second restrictions were lifted she was back filming at her dads.

Melanie is doing what I did at 16, hiding from MIL because she doesn't want to listen to her advice and opinions- that behaviour, melanie never grew out of.

Also a huge sign of a narc is isolating them from family members and friends, that way he will only come to rely on her as his source of validation and happiness. As @emmauptheduffy said he's an enabler. Hes Melanies yesman.

Agreed, agreed. Sure, they might be pains but they can’t be that bad...they’re allowing Melanie and thomas to live in their household rent free when Melanie and thomas could very move in with her dad or just move out ..... It’s just an odd set up. Melanie makes it odd.

I think it’s because she pays rent towards her dads house so he can live there and she doesn’t want to pay rent twice, which is fair enough. But then her dad needs to find somewhere he can afford to live on his own.
