No it was because Melanie's line of work isn't seen as stable and she's shite at saving and he's in mountains of dept.
Love how they are blaming a pandemic for the fact the refuse to look outside of their town at something within their budget.
I'm guessing the article didn't cover the fact that while they were living in the attic they ;
1) Got a brand new eco car on finance
2) Thomas got a cosmetic hair transplant
3) they are redoing their wedding instead of putting the money towards a house
4) planned a baby while living in the attic.

Maybe if you both stop spending 7 euro a pop on a jar of lentils you might have a house by now.

I think them going on about how hard they have it is really doing duck all for the aviation campaign. Don't centre it around how difficult it is for you to manage if you want people to care. Many would jump for joy to be in their situation.
And let's not forget that Thomas worked for 12 months with regular pay and in those 12 months he made it a priority to buy a "proper" engagement ring and they prioritised a wedding over a mortgage or paying back a big chunk of the student debt. Plus Melanie pointed out more than once and made sure to emphasise that she didn't suffer any loss whatsoever last year financially. Where does all the money go? Not to clothes I would think. As every new item she shows is either drabletics or gifted in some way.
They should stick to the phrase: count your blessings! They must not have friends for they would give them a reality check guaranteed. Unless they are all equally as entitled.
