You could also look at it as if he has no memory of doing it, it’s a racial comment that means absolutely nothing to him and thinks is completely normal, said it like it’s nothing. but is actually really offensive.There seems to be more detail emerging that he said ‘the worst racial slur’ in 2018/19 - to be honest I’d suggest all racial slurs are equal… Richard Osman has said on a podcast that Torode was offered the option of stepping back for a series, going on training and coming back apologetic but he refused saying he wasn’t willing to admit responsibility for something he has no memory of doing - I admire him for standing firm on that.
Given they are so sure it took place perhaps they have a recording of it or more than one witness? It would seem out of character for him from what we witness on TV, but who knows?
I think the fact he didn’t go on training speaks a lot aswell. I think (in my opinion) everybody should try and should want to educate themselves a bit more where they can.
