I thought Chris had won it until they tried Brin's food. Then it was obvious Brin had won. His food always looked really elegant.
Louise didn't stand a chance in the final really.

I’m so glad he won. He seems like a thoroughly nice man as well
He was very humble! I was never tempted to eat Chris’s food. It never looked appealing to me and was too fancy

Sometimes people are sad when a long standing presenter leaves a TV programme. I can’t imagine anyone - including John Torode (Jonty Road) - will be sad to see the back of him. The gurning, “oh mate!”, looking annoyed when the professional judges (Marcus and Monica) disagree with him, and banal and repetitive comments about the food will be gone.
I wonder who they’ll use to replace him? Maybe Matt Tebbutt from Saturday Kitchen?

Gutted to read that John Torode has been sacked from Masterchef. I don’t understand how a complaint could be upheld if they could not provide him with detail on it. I’ll miss him on this. Wonder who they’ll get in now…
Feel really bad for the contestants on the un-aired series. It could have been life-changing for the winner and finalists.

I’ve only just seen the news about this. Gutted as I love Masterchef and I think this could be the end now unless they pick new hosts very wisely. And also, would anyone who is any good want it?
I am hoping he will get some support but people are too afraid to publically speak out these days.

I could see them either totally rebooting it (with maybe two female hosts) or just pulling the plug entirely, as it will be associated too strongly now with two sacked hosts.

There seems to be more detail emerging that he said ‘the worst racial slur’ in 2018/19 - to be honest I’d suggest all racial slurs are equal… Richard Osman has said on a podcast that Torode was offered the option of stepping back for a series, going on training and coming back apologetic but he refused saying he wasn’t willing to admit responsibility for something he has no memory of doing - I admire him for standing firm on that.
Given they are so sure it took place perhaps they have a recording of it or more than one witness? It would seem out of character for him from what we witness on TV, but who knows?
I stood next to JT once on a train platform and smiled at him and he gave me the filthiest look. I’m still not sure what provoked it. I’m not equating this to potentially making a racist remark, nor am I saying that the one tiny snapshot I saw of him is indicative of his entire character, however it’s always left me wondering how close celebs are to their public personas.
Marina also quite blatantly (IMO) dropped a hint that other complaints in the same racial slur ballpark "may" have been made but not upheld.
Maybe that's just my interpretation, but I felt she confirmed that in her tone of voice without explicitly saying it.
