Were there more initial rounds of newbies this time? I'm not sure but they seemed to go on forever.

Nobody is really seeming head and shoulders above the rest. In fact, nobody seems really brilliant compared to other series.
They are getting better with each round, I like Matt but was disappointed that Kirsty went.
Otherwise [and I know it’s irrational] want to boo and hiss when Daniel comes on the screen, definitely ‘something of the night’ about him .. and reading Daniel “is an Actor, writer and vintage car builder” only serves to confirm how I feel.

I found Anna really irritating when she stood in for Monica on Professionals so, I was really disheartened to hear she had the job for amateur MC. I hoped she might have improved with time but, nope. Still as irritating. It's a shame Matt, who stood in on the last professionals series didn't get the job, I thought he was good.

Jhané is my favourite. I know Kristen hasn’t really put a foot wrong but I just can’t warm to her dishes.

I didn’t warm to her at first but these last few episodes she’s really started to shine. She’s focused, creative and funny

Giorgio Locatelli is going to be joint presenter with Grace Dent on the Celeb version.

I'm not a fan of Anna and Grace as a presenting duo. I thought Anna was fine when she filled in for Gregg last year, but as a main presenter she is very intense and quite emotional and it's a lot. I've always liked Grace Dent, but she started annoying me as the series progressed as she only ever seemed to repeat the same things over and over: love it/could eat a vat of that/could eat it out of the pot/reminds me of what my gran used to make.
Overall, this series was a bit of a miss for me and I found myself zoning out and skipping segments here and there. I enjoyed the last series, so not really sure what happened: could be that the last series had a vegan cook in the final and as a vegetarian I guess that type of food is more appealing to me.
Also, the pizza challenge in this featured some of the most unappetising pizzas I ever did see. And I love pizza!

I quite agree about Grace. I loved her when she was with Jonty Rhodes - but she started getting on my nerves in this too.
So keen to emphasise she loves vast amounts of good normal food - 'Mm my favourite dessert is a sticky toffee pudding. I just spoon vatloads down my throat when I'm at home on the sofa'.
It just got too irritating, and frankly unbelievable, for me.
