I don’t remember her being this manic on the professionals, it’s giving slightly unhinged 😂

We’ve seen the first episode. Can’t help but love Grace.
Me neither! I love Grace, I feel like she would make a ridiculously good Miss Hannigan!!

Sorry ( not sorry) but that was my reaction too.🤭. Sam was a nice woman but there’s been so many contestants who seemed to have entered because their family have told them they’re such good cooks they should enter the competition.
Otherwise, can’t remember names as yet but the two women who got the first aprons were both very good, both of them beautiful too, the one who made the Thai green curry has a great smile 😊

Agree with the comments about Anna’s facial expressions…always seems to have wide eyed shocked face! Sorry but i cant take to Grace, her voice changes all the time, its likes she is trying to be all sultry and posh and then forgets and her proper accents comes out

Grace isn’t posh, she’s from Carlisle! 🙈 I like her because she’s a foodie.
Anna’s eyes are definitely a bit much, but chefs are dramatic!
I do like that it’s two females though like Strictly was.

I'm not fussed either way on Anna, love Grace though. I wish they had kept John on as him and Grace were great together. Fancy going on Masterchef and serving raw chicken and who the very heck puts flour in mashed potato?

Makes me laugh every time they say of chocolate fondants - 'ooh very risky - so many go wrong on Masterchef' - when I've seen so many being done over the years and never seen one go wrong 😂
I imagine a couple didn't work years ago and it's sort of become MC lore.

I think nearly all the chocolate fondants in the last 4-5 years have worked. I reckon it’s something like the Mandela effect where maybe one didn’t work 10 years ago and now it’s somehow become the Masterchef nemesis 😂

Has Anna always done that popeyed expression? I don't remember her doing it so much in the episodes she filled in for Gregg last year, but now it's all I see. I watched three episodes in a row last weekend and found it a bit much! She's overdoing it! 😄

The answer is she has …. but because it’s mentioned in practically every other post it’s all I see when I look at her. Thing is it’s not put on, she’s not conscious she’s doing it. If she actually thought about her facial expressions before she spoke it would probably come across worse. In the end we had to get used to Gregg Wallace’s gurning (not saying that like it’s a good thing) so eventually we’ll learn to phase it out. Whilst writing I’m gonna say the lovely Monica can gurn for England, especially during that first test the Professionals do .. so in the end it’s part and parcel of the show 🤔

Wowsers, the Italian man’s mashed potato and the SAHD’s black pudding foam and cinnamon on scallops. I think someone serving a pot noodle would get through in this group 😂

I don't know why but Grace is getting on my nerves this series. And I really liked her before.
It's the way she goes on and on about loving 'dirty' food eg 'big chips' or sticky toffee pudding. I don't know if I entirely believe it.

It doesn't look like this series is lighting many people's fires (even with the plethora of burnt pizzas in the most recent ep), but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the uncanny resemblance of Welsh contestant Daniel to presenter Gethin Jones? He looks (& sounds) uncannily like him. It had me wondering if they might be related...

It just feels a bit… flat? This year!
