I’m really sad Haddy left, she should have stuck to her Gambian food!
I do tend to get annoyed when someone wins by showing no variety in the food they cook, but it does tend to be when people try and do ‘classic French’ cookery that they trip themselves up.

I have to say I did find Hope’s downfall quite amusing. She’d clearly come with the plan of what she’d make in the invention test and couldn’t deviate from it even when it wasn’t working.

Disappointed that they don't appear to be doing the mass catering task this series. Swear it's normally done by now

I really like Haddy and Lee this week. Lee’s meals all looked delicious. I’d try that butter chicken pie in a heartbeat.
I would like to see more Gambian cuisine so o hope that Haddy cooks some other Gambian dishes.

I've been catching up on this week's episodes and came here to see if anyone had commented on Oliva's resting bitch face and sulky behaviour. But I guess nobody is watching?

Also for some reason I thought Gregg was going to disappear halfway through the series, but he's still there going into finals week.
OMG I loved Olivia and her pissy face! I'm a bit of a resting bitch face myself and it's just strew etc. I loved her!

I find Louise really annoying.
She’s my favourite and I hope she wins. Anyone who has to battle cancer with a young child is a hero to me.

I want the toothy doctor to go, he is smugness personified. Did you see him patting the professional chef on the shoulder and winking at him?!

There seems to be more detail emerging that he said ‘the worst racial slur’ in 2018/19 - to be honest I’d suggest all racial slurs are equal… Richard Osman has said on a podcast that Torode was offered the option of stepping back for a series, going on training and coming back apologetic but he refused saying he wasn’t willing to admit responsibility for something he has no memory of doing - I admire him for standing firm on that.

Given they are so sure it took place perhaps they have a recording of it or more than one witness? It would seem out of character for him from what we witness on TV, but who knows?
You could also look at it as if he has no memory of doing it, it’s a racial comment that means absolutely nothing to him and thinks is completely normal, said it like it’s nothing. but is actually really offensive.

I think the fact he didn’t go on training speaks a lot aswell. I think (in my opinion) everybody should try and should want to educate themselves a bit more where they can.

You’re not that at all, Facebook are calling her ‘hopeless’ and to put it kindly are pleased as punch. Contestants like Hope should practice not only their cooking skills but they need to learn how to mask their ruthless ambition. It was things like the way she said stuff like “my chances” implying they were better than anyone else’s.
I bet shes got those feckin plates on Ebay by now.

Yes, face like thunder. And same, I keep wondering when he’ll fuck off! 😂
Last night (Friday 19 September) was Gregg’s last appearance. In finals week John does the Wednesday episode solo and is joined by Anna Haugh for the final two episodes.

Thoughts on Vanessa? I just can’t settle on her, something insincere?
It really annoyed me when she did a biryani for the “layers” challenge! They even said it wasn’t really applicable to the task. Totally get that vibe from her; insincere.

Also Myles last night looked like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle when he was told he was leaving. He thought he’d breeze through didn’t he.

She was splendid wasn't she? So beautiful and angry all the time.

There was a fascinating episode where it was obvious they'd had to cut the person that didn't want to be in it - no long shots at all, no mentioning of numbers of people. Amazing how they did it.

Should be a good final week - I'm afraid I find the older lady with red lipstick quite irritating - lots of stupid facial expressions.
They have cut a load of Gregg's 'banter' and instead you just see him standing there with his mouth open. 😄

But yeah, I had to laugh at Olivia. What a scowl! I noticed she never held the door open for anyone either. Would just let it slam into them! 😄

I didn’t warm to her, she seemed fixated on Italian food and could not accept criticism. I’m sure she knows more about a lot of Italian home cooking than Gregg at least but if you’ve entered a competition where you know they are the judges then you have to accept their opinion carries weight! She seemed very in with the delusional Brazilian guy but noticed that when she left she marched off without bothering to say goodbye to anyone. They probably had to taser her out the back because she was trashing the place 😂

I thought Chris had won it until they tried Brin's food. Then it was obvious Brin had won. His food always looked really elegant.
Louise didn't stand a chance in the final really.
I can see Chris having a sort of cabaret supper club type place.
I’m so glad he won. He seems like a thoroughly nice man as well

Im a sadistic bitch but I was over the moon that Hopes pastry didn't rise and she got booted off. Her face! She really thought she had it in the bag. I also thought Vera was getting a bit cocky as well.

Do you remember Rendang!gate? When they eliminated someone because the chicken skin in their Rendang wasn’t crispy enough and the Malaysian prime minister was like, “who eats “crispy” Rendang, anyway?!” I now giggle any time John and Gregg give any kind of feedback on anything, tbh. 🤣

I really really don’t like Hope .. I know my post isn’t on point or about the cooking but needed to share. I just don’t like watching a smug person who pretends they’re not exactly that.

Thank god Myles has gone. Smug and arrogant, and seemed to completely ignore how much criticism he got and that his mistakes were quite big ones. His face was a picture when he left. Annas face when he left also suggested she knew he'd be annoyed or she had clocked his cockiness.

Searched for a thread for this and couldn’t find one (the Celebrity, Professionals and Australia ones were all there) so decided to create one.

It may be bitchy but I love watching the really smug amateurs who clearly think they’re going to walk it go out of the competition early on. On this series (19) Zoe falls into this category so far:
• Bangs on about travelling, cooking authentic Italian food (she’s Scottish), having friends over for dinner parties etc.;
• Doesn’t take criticism well and looks as though the person giving it is clearly wrong and an idiot (William Sitwell* telling her raw cabbage is not a conduit for her celeriac dish);
• Blames the Masterchef kitchen for a dish not coming out right ahead of time just in case it bombs;
• Pulls a bemused expression when told they’re out

There also always seems to be one contestant (if not more) who is a one trick pony in terms of constantly cooking the same cuisine or variations on those flavour profiles. So far Matthew ticks this box.

Why does Gregg Wallace always reference a plate/bowl of sunshine whenever anyone cooks with mango or pineapple. It’s like he’s got a limited script. I enjoy the fact the contestants in the Professionals series couldn’t give a shit about his critique 😂

It's bugging me that they kept calling him 'Dr. George' but didn't afford the same respect to Dinta.

The vet is Brin from Bristol (not to be confused with Bryn from Barry). 😉

Both the vet and the two doctors said they hope to have future careers in catering/cooking. Absolutely their prerogative, but I couldn't help thinking that's a lot of medical training going to waste!
