I like Grace Dent, not a fan of Anna Haugh but her approach on this programme may be different to her time on the Professionals.
What is it you don't like about Anna? Like I said, I don't know her at all, so just curious. Your comment makes me wonder if I'll take an instant dislike to her! 😄

---
Gregg's absence was not mentioned at all. I thought they might say something, but I guess it's awkward.

I just found her a bit snippy in places on the Professionals one, like she felt she needed to assert herself/her knowledge to be accepted as a judge. When I’ve seen her on segments on Saturday Kitchen (don’t watch it often now as I have a toddler TV dictator) either cooking on air or stuff pre-filmed she seems really matey with people (overly nice and fawning) and I don’t like people like that. It also feels a bit Jekyll and Hyde. It makes me wonder which one she is so have no idea how she’ll pitch herself on the Amateurs show. Having said that at least I won’t have to see Gregg Wallace grinning, gurning, calling everyone mate or banging on about slippery aubergine or tropical mango. It was like he was some kind of badly functioning robot who only had only been programmed with certain phrases.

Yeah, Harry deserved that with his final dishes.

I thought Anna was fine as a judge. At least she didn't annoy me at all in those two episodes - was quite supportive, encouraging etc. Hopefully the new presenters will work well in the next series.

Yes I agree re Anna. I hadn't particularly liked her on Professionals as she was so intense. But I liked her tonight. She seems kind and enthusiastic but will still offer some criticism.
So hopefully she'll be good.

I think her thing on Professionals was chef on chef, so I'm not surprised she was quite warm and empathetic on this.

Right result, all very nice people.

I was rather pleased Clare didn't win 😖 Her food looked good but something about her wound me up a bit. Constant mugging for the camera.
Sophie will do well as a vegetarian cook if she goes professional - she does seem to do interesting things. I actually thought last night's was one of the weakest rounds for her. The main course was so sparse - three small spoonfuls of mushroom.
Harry was standout really. It was always going to be his unless he fecked up massively.
We'll see them all again next year no doubt as critics!

I do think Sophie's main course let her down. As John said, it was more like a starter than a main. It felt a bit like she had run out of ideas.

As soon as Harry started describing his dishes I thought he'd win it unless he somehow messed up.

Anyone know if they're planning on airing the celeb version that was filmed with John and Grace Dent as presenters?

Well I spoiled it for myself by looking at this thread during the night last night, forgetting the final had been on! 🤪 but it meant I could watch the final today and be happy because I already knew my fav was going to win

I'm also so glad to now have seen the last of Greggs stupid glaikit big grin and his "slippery" comments etc. What series of the professionals was Anna on? I've been trying to find it on iplayer

Anna was on to replace Monica in 2022, series 15.

I do like Anna, she has appeared on lots of cooking shows and definitely developed as a presenter.

Glad to see the back of Gregggg!

Ah I love Anna. And I like Grace but will be sad to see John go. Gregg can duck off.
Was so so soooo glad Harry won. I had him as the winner from his first episode!

Anna’s face is driving me ever so slightly insane, she’s like a nodding, grinning, bug eyed puppet! (Watching the new series on iplayer!)

And! When Sam was taking her dishes to the previous contestants Anna and Grace definitely exchanged looks that I construed as mean girl like looks!!

I don’t remember her being this manic on the professionals, it’s giving slightly unhinged 😂

We’ve seen the first episode. Can’t help but love Grace.

Taking the peppercorns out of peppercorn sauce is kinda stupid! 🙈
I think Anna is just passionate but I get that she is a bit crazy eyed! 😆
