Romans so cute and think nothing wrong with speech. I actually enjoy watching him. He’s just a little kid and funny.

Just a quick disclaimer: I am not in any way saying anyone here has done anything wrong or having a go at anyone here.

But this is exactly why influencers and celebs and ‘mommy bloggers’ etc make me so angry, we should not be able to have conversations in which the speech of a child, what he eats or whether he’s too old to be in a pram can be discussed.

We are going to have huge amounts of children damaged by this from ‘small’ things like being teased at school to huge things like young adults unable to leave the house because they’re paranoid they’re being recorded and watched.

I don’t know how we are so many years into this ‘trend’ and there have been no laws introduced to protect the privacy or children. If I recorded everything my husband did, if I left him to cry while I opened my camera to record it and put it on social media, photographed him every time he looked messy or cute or funny and showed millions of people online, made him perform things over and over until I got the perfect shot and uploaded videos of him in the bath and let millions of people know what he looks like, where he works and comment on his every movement, would that be ok? Would it be more or less ok if I was paid for it? Why are children ‘less than’ an adult? Why aren’t they allowed privacy?

Might have guessed Roman would blow out Lilahs candles, even when Scott pulled him back he was still trying and no one told him off 🙄

Absolutely, teach him that it is not his birthday so he doesn’t get presents. Or get him a tiny gift to open, not a bleeping expensive personalised scooter! He’s absolutely gonna grow up to be one of those horrible kids that gets everything he wants or has a complete meltdown. So they give into him for a quiet life.

Roman came across as such a spoilt brat in that video, playing up to the attention as well by trying to blow the candles out again. Bless Lilah just sat there taking it all in!!

Roman blew out the candle in take 1 but in take 2 Elsie did the same and nobody stopped her- Lilah hadn't a notion what was going on
Nice to see Scott has some sort of cop on trying to hold Roman back as his parents were too busy 🙄

Buying presents for a sibling so they don’t feel ‘left out’ on birthdays is one of my pet peeves. So bleeping irritating- how is the kid going to learn not to be a brat if he’s constantly getting things on sister’s birthday so he doesn’t feel ‘left out’ 😡

We used to get presents on our siblings birthdays, my dad and step mum said it was just easier as it kept us occupied so the birthday girl/ boy could be centre of attention on the day (there were 6 of us in total so I can understand) but we never got anything as big as a scooter. I remember getting a teddy or a book or something

New thread suggestion - Lucy Mecklenburgh #8 Roman is becoming a bit of a brat, no surprise with parents like that.

My eldest is the type of child to be upset on a sibling’s birthday and she would huff and strop if she doesn’t get to play with their presents. I don’t pander to this at all, I sit her down the day before and remind her that it is not her birthday. When it is her birthday she gets the presents. She has to learn.

I come from a big family with alot of nieces and nephews and now 3 of my own and I have actually never heard of a sibling getting a present on someone else's birthday!! Will Lilah get something on Romans birthday?? Didn't see scarlett at the party. Ryan seemed like he was being a bit of a dick to her when they were getting the presents ready the night before.

It’s not just the scooter when they were in smyths the day before she said they got him that megaphone type toy so he didn’t feel left out, he probably got his own pile!! Same as everyone else I don’t do that, my daughter asked her big brother to help her blow out the candles but he knew not too take over and he only got involved when she asked
