When I first came across Ms Flavell she was a voracious instagrammer, so much so that she seemed not only self obsessed but pretty lonely and desperate. Her only friends were her followers. The stories went on and on, her candlelit soft porn bath story in Rome was one that was both bizarre and scary to watch thinking of all the creeps that would be getting off on it. Now however she is barely on instagram yet her followers there are increasing everyday by 100 
. I know she has bought followers in the past but why now? What's her plan? Also her patreon page has not been updated, apart from a few posts, since she first set it up. What's in it for them? It's all so cult like, her adoring, unquestioning followers and subs, even though she promises them insights into her life in Italy yet delivers only scraps. Where is part 2 of the Q and A? The 13 part series of places in Tuscany? Instead only mashed up bits of boring drivel that I can barely sit through. What colour to paint a car...really??? And tbh I probably wouldn't watch if it wasn't for this forum. This forum has brought to light so much and you are such a fun bunch that after being a long time reader I just had to join in! A ten minute ad for the Panda, wonder how big her cheque was from Fiat. They don’t even pretend to be anything but scammers now.
And €3100 for a 29 day car rental ? No wonder they always claim poverty. Until recently, I was paying €750 for a month; prices have increased due to Covid, but not THAT high.
So, just saw the video; vacuous. (Sorry Mkm if that’s too harsh for you, it’s just my opinion, you don’t have to agree with me if you think it’s cinematic, don’t want to hurt your feelings or sense of fairness if you don’t agree).
And if there is something I find funny that makes me laugh, it doesn’t mean I think you have to find it funny too. There is something called free choice and I respect that. It means we can be different from each other without becoming offended.
Next time you want to go on the attack, try not to use the same behaviour you claim to criticize. I don’t know how old you are, but I think society has spent enough time catering to faux sensitivities such as yours, no matter how young or old you are.

Guido, as I understand it, is an accountant and, with such a fiduciary position, he has various professional standards to uphold.

It’s not an uncommon advertising technique to cast to the past to promote products in the present. Afterall, a car that runs 20 years and, as Mr. Potato says, is easy to repair, parts available, (the seller gives a personal testimonial too) it goes towards promoting the whole brand; Fiat.
10 minutes. She’s not getting something in return with 200,000 subscribers ?!
Will we ever know if, instead of a 20 year old heap, they start driving around in a new Fiat ?

This is the last time I'm even going to THINK about a Fiat flipping Panda just to say they bought the cheapest, most reliable car they could find - quotes €900/ €1,000 or less in car mags - odd she carefully didn't mention the price but totted up the expenses to show for grifting. I really don't think Fiat would be wowed to give her any sort of car on the basis of ads for outdated models- in any case there are so many discounted offers already on the market. G has his & she can't drive AS YET - how many vlogs would that take in driving lessons?? OMG
not to mention the detailing of the money her parents had spent renting... how could it be so much? he has a car and would (presumably been wfh for a lot of the time, unless italia has been very different) they could have used his surely?

But I had wondered that, too. I guess I just assumed he either drove them places or they used his car from time to time. I don't think he is always "in giro" for work. That rental was ridiculously expensive.
Can anyone see the dates properly? It looks like 24/07/21 to 21/08/21 but I'm not sure. If so for a small car it's exorbitant but it's at peak season. If so again, does this belong to her parents ?

Possibly. It's seems like she has lost her way and doesn't know what to post/vlog anymore. Her life is kinda dull now in my opinion unless you are a god fearing conservative that has an idealised view of life in Italy. I don't think her current crop of worshipping admirers were ever her intended audience but now, in these Covid times, she has realised their worth and her content is aimed solely at them...and they love it...and we hate it! To be honest, I never loved her work before but I did find it entertaining in a scab picking kind of way. Sorry a bit gross there.
Of course they got the cheapest, oldest heap they could find that still runs; they have to do a complete pivot away from the luxury, lavish lifestyle they were presenting of themselves for the past few months in their manor house, garden party and “week” at the Hotel Splendido in Portofino. Who would send money for THAT on the basis of poverty !

I am similarly disenchanted with Kylie Flavell. An Italian friend introduced me to her videos because I had some questions regarding a future move to Italy for work purposes, and he thought her advice regarding her own move might be helpful. In some regards it was, e.g. advice about internet, heating bills etc. However, I became increasingly irritated by her faux elitist and superior attitude. This forum often draws attention to her stereotypical view of Italy/Italians, yet she also stereotypes Australians. For instance, I recall in one of her videos she said she had to leave Australia because Australia has no culture and Australians are merely sport obsessed. Its completely untrue, there are many intellectual and cultured people in Australia, who like or don't like sport! But let us imagine that it is true for a moment, that is to say, that Australians are all uncouth and ignorant, what does this culture magnet do when she gets to Italy, does she do a higher degree in humanities at Bologna University? No, she involves herself in the Youtube hustle, whilst maintaining a pretense of superiority. Indeed, she is the very epitome of the uncultured, inelegant Australian that she professes to be escaping from! Certainly a refined personality would not beg for money on a public platform - unless said person was truly in desperate need. At best she is a hobbyist with no serious skills or training - Drone pilot aside, pretending to be more accomplished than she is. Which is not to say that I have a problem with people who want a simple life. I often fantasize about leaving my competitive work environment for a quieter life. But I do have a problem with people pretending to be something that they are not. Don't get me started on the white shoes and the tea-bags - surely somebody with Kylie's aesthetic sense would buy loose-leaf tea and a teapot!
