This dog was very hot on the train so his owner was holding him up to the window . The train was intensely crowded going from Austria back to Italy after a 40 km bike ride on the busiest day of the Summer …It was 2019 pre pandemic 😷 riding through the countryside with Italian alps on one side and chocolate box perfect Austria on the other.

The cat is the new cat we have , Champ , short for Champagne.. he’s a bit of a bossy .. ankle ambush type .. he’s a rescue, from a deceased estate, 3 years old. I am trying to keep him as an indoor cat .. a new thing in our lives after losing our last fluffy to cat flu at the start of the pandemic … ( I’m still looking for a dog but everyone has put blue chip prices on dogs once $ 400 dogs are now $2000+😱

Got to visit yesterday and, this morning, he goes for his vaccine, after which we can go home together.

Also had a nice time on Lake Garda in the afternoon, photos to follow.

This woman is empty as a drum, she has no authority over anything because she is no expert in anything. These are her blunt and ignorant opinions at best and it comes off foolish. She basically makes a fool of herself anytime she tries to explain something or lecture about anything related to knowledge and depth really. Next on K’s show I’m expecting her to start talking about buildings, design and her views on architecture. What a laugh that will be. Can’t wait for the idiotic comments. She is so far out of touch, the audacity she has to present herself as some guru when her opinions are of a either a child or an ignorant, poorly educated and dogmatic person.

I don't want to see any content from Kylie. To be honest. She should recede into a life of being a member of the family she married in to. Life has its phases. Sometimes, you need to move on.

Once upon a time, I enjoyed her travel videos. Until I noticed everything that everyone else mentions here, and I cannot "un-see" any of it now.

For me, she is now unwatchable.

Agree that the video was boring, and I also found it a bit strange. It seemed like it was trying to be too many contradictory things at once, especially in just a 7-minute video. Parts of it felt like I was watching a basic PR/tourism advert, but this was punctuated by the vintage film filters/cut scenes and voiceovers that had a totally opposite vibe - like it was trying to be some kind of artsy/avant garde/hipster film school project. Then there were the gratuitous midriff/body shots, and at one point a closeup of Guido’s face with a crazed-looking expression that felt like we might be watching a horror film. And then some of the swimming and bedroom shots... I get that this is partly a “this is my honeymoon” video, but something about those felt, well... like they could’ve been more tastefully done. Then the caption about how long it takes to produce and a plea for Patreon donations... sigh. I feel like this video does capture in just 7 minutes basically everything this forum has been describing about the current state of her content.

@PlinyinTorquay I don't know that book, but what a sweet thoughtful gift!

As @Jerry mentioned a page or so back, all art was at one point "contemporary." I really can't stand when people who simply dislike a style or movement and label it "bad" or unworthy. Ughh, this is why I'm not ready to go on with the video. She's so dismissive of things she actually doesn't understand and has developed such a clichè idea of "culture."

And boring Guido as @Rina Valtellina mentioned...😅 I used to enjoy his rare presence as a change from 'all Kylie all the time.' But now, what phrase can I use? Too much of a good thing? Familiarity breeds contempt? Lol. Now is in in virtually every video and they're like a Couple's Vlog channel, or seem to be heading that route.

@Alessandro good to see you again, I’ve missed your insight and wit 🦧🤙🏼You are so right Everything about this is so self-conscious it’s painful to watch.
It’s not the accent that gives her away as an Australian it’s the irony. The irony that the effort she goes to pull focus on the details she chooses to pull focus on all betray the point she is flogging a dead horse to make.
Kyles would have us believe that everything she dreamed of has happened, instead I see an uptight girl woman who can’t relax until everything in the room is aesthetically as SHE wants it (poor Guido must be banished to the other room if he just wants to kick back chill with a beer, scratch his balls and watch the football) that’s just the limpid tip outside leaf of the daggy iceberg lettuce.
The greatest gift you to give a friend is to have the house smelling of cooked meals !.? what the actual ef? It’s a basic sweet thing but if that’s the greatest crikey !
Some of the greatest most fun and interesting people I know can’t cook and never clean up after themselves
As for force feeding us these ridiculous calculations that examine the cost of the meal in minutiae, ( hurts my eyes ) well Kylie honey I just don’t give a damn! So in fact instead of looking down your nose at people who buy aioli Kylie (the patron saint of DIY home crafts and purse-string pullers) consider this - The global economic community is on its knees and maybe spending a couple of euros on a damn jar of aeoli at the local grocer or even at the damn franchise might help a couple of immigrants who have fought very hard to legitimately move to a new county survive the next 10 years of debt repayment .
Also I’m uncomfortable being cinematically manipulated to the point of being a peeping Tom through the door at KyLIE while Squids gives her the swirls AGAIN .
Ordinary work KF here’s a C+ at the very most if had to grade it .

"Religious melodrama" ... not sure the Catholic instruction is going well. I think Church attendance is, for those who are religious, a profound sacramental connection with God! As @Jerry suggests K sure does have a talent for trivializing intense human experiences. This episode reminded me of one of my favorite lines from an odd movie called the Piano Teacher, by the German director Haneke. In the movie an attractive young protege is playing Schubert with much hubris, when the teacher cuts him down by saying, "you are too attractive to play Schubert, you can only paly soft to loud. Schubert was an ugly man and he played from a whisper to a scream." Seems to me that people who try to gain the attention of others by seduction, and who have no intention of actually entering into an amorous encounter with those they are trying to seduce, can never really achieve the depth of connection that being truly vulnerable elicits. Instead, they leave people, somewhat...unsatisfied.

As @Jerry said at some point in this long conversation, there is no beauty in teasing money out of people in a pandemic, or trying to seduce people into a dead-end business venture at this difficult time. It's really very ugly behavior and her moral compass is clearly a blunt instrument...just because you can ask, doesn't mean you should! I was incredibly touched by a video she made some time ago when she volunteered with a group who were rebuilding houses after the devastation of a natural disaster in the US (forgotten which one - my apologies). And I was also moved by the experiences of the man in this recent video, so I do think she has a soft side. However, she has not been seasoned by life, and hence, she does not have the capacity to truly elevate others. Moreover, she is not open to the criticism of others, and hence, cannot reflect and grow.

Finally...but not my area of expertise...in my view, not all contemporary art is bad, and not all baroque art is good. Might we say, Kylie is a traditionalist, but not an art critic! However, neither I am, so maybe I should be quiet on this front!
I have watched the first 2 minutes and doubt I will continue. The relgion comment is bizarre, as is the comment about people going to mass maybe once a year, considering she had never mentioned religion at all before the wedding. Her obsession with everything being better in the past is just grating. where on earth would her "career" be if she wasn't born with the technology of this day and age?

Guido’s purse ?
Lol ... as I told you, I have had to set up a new app for entering Qatar on my iPhone. My password is. Guidospurse@1. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Some of you might remember that I was telling you about Clara the Rhinoceros some time ago. Today I heard the news that my article is finally published online. Will be available as a hard copy later. But here it is in the Journal, Luxury, by Taylor and Frances together with other contributions from the Venice Symposium. I 💕 the journal cover!

Yes, what a frog-like image with big web feet - so odd I wondered if it had been photo-shopped or something. Haven't gone thru vlog but beginning was very cliché Conde Nast. Can't believe it took so long to edit as she's only done the usual copy & paste job with the vintage voiceovers that I thought was her, so bizarre her accent has become.
It is very Conde Nast travel! Lol. I agree with other comments, too, saying pethaps her being in a more stable place has led to a decline in work. At the same time she can't be rolling around with other men, I guess.

I never thought I'd be so bored with her work that I am not even inspired to comment very much. Lol.

I am similarly disenchanted with Kylie Flavell. An Italian friend introduced me to her videos because I had some questions regarding a future move to Italy for work purposes, and he thought her advice regarding her own move might be helpful. In some regards it was, e.g. advice about internet, heating bills etc. However, I became increasingly irritated by her faux elitist and superior attitude. This forum often draws attention to her stereotypical view of Italy/Italians, yet she also stereotypes Australians. For instance, I recall in one of her videos she said she had to leave Australia because Australia has no culture and Australians are merely sport obsessed. Its completely untrue, there are many intellectual and cultured people in Australia, who like or don't like sport! But let us imagine that it is true for a moment, that is to say, that Australians are all uncouth and ignorant, what does this culture magnet do when she gets to Italy, does she do a higher degree in humanities at Bologna University? No, she involves herself in the Youtube hustle, whilst maintaining a pretense of superiority. Indeed, she is the very epitome of the uncultured, inelegant Australian that she professes to be escaping from! Certainly a refined personality would not beg for money on a public platform - unless said person was truly in desperate need. At best she is a hobbyist with no serious skills or training - Drone pilot aside, pretending to be more accomplished than she is. Which is not to say that I have a problem with people who want a simple life. I often fantasize about leaving my competitive work environment for a quieter life. But I do have a problem with people pretending to be something that they are not. Don't get me started on the white shoes and the tea-bags - surely somebody with Kylie's aesthetic sense would buy loose-leaf tea and a teapot!

For me, it is now settled - I am certainly not jealous of Kylie. Some reasons why:
(1) I don't have to dig holes on the property.
(2) My work doesn't require me to roll around seductively on the bonnet of a used Fiat Panda (without airbags).
(3) My husband often cooks for me - midriff covered - no lip-biting.
(4) I don't think my dirty espadrilles are worthy of a slow camera shot. And
(5) I can enjoy the fun of this group.

When I first came across Ms Flavell she was a voracious instagrammer, so much so that she seemed not only self obsessed but pretty lonely and desperate. Her only friends were her followers. The stories went on and on, her candlelit soft porn bath story in Rome was one that was both bizarre and scary to watch thinking of all the creeps that would be getting off on it. Now however she is barely on instagram yet her followers there are increasing everyday by 100 . I know she has bought followers in the past but why now? What's her plan? Also her patreon page has not been updated, apart from a few posts, since she first set it up. What's in it for them? It's all so cult like, her adoring, unquestioning followers and subs, even though she promises them insights into her life in Italy yet delivers only scraps. Where is part 2 of the Q and A? The 13 part series of places in Tuscany? Instead only mashed up bits of boring drivel that I can barely sit through. What colour to paint a car...really??? And tbh I probably wouldn't watch if it wasn't for this forum. This forum has brought to light so much and you are such a fun bunch that after being a long time reader I just had to join in! Sorry I haven't really added anything that hasn't already been said but give me time...

What made you become a Patreon of KyLIE ?
Wow, @Jerry, you are asking me a question that will elicit a personal response. I am getting the vibe that my digressions are a distraction. Apologies to those who are losing patience with me.

To keep it ‘on the topic’, maybe it will serve as a case study on why someone should become a Patreon of Kylie. I don’t know how ‘typical’ I am. A little before Christmas 2020, I decided to subscribe as a Patreon, and I had been watching Kylie’s videos since the late summer of that year. I had been stuck in Qatar since early January 2020, not being able to see friends, family, things or people I care about. Although I have exciting work, working here is ‘psychologically difficult’. One needs to travel every three to four months for one’s sanity. Every year, pre-Covid, I made pilgrimages to my favourite places … Venice, Florence, Paris, the Côte d’Azur, London and Vienna. As an art historian and specialist in eighteenth-century Venetian art, I travel for the culture. I felt deprived after almost a year in lockdown. It was also frustrating as I had to decline a scholarship that would have taken me to Florence, Rome and Arezzo. I had always wanted to visit Arezzo after watching La Vita è Bella. I was dreading Christmas in Doha. Although some effort is made in the international hotels &c to hold celebrations for ex-pats, as we make up a large percentage of the population. It simply isn’t the same. So, perhaps you can begin to imagine why the opening five minutes or so of this video (from 1 min. 41 seconds to 4:14) seduced me at a time when I was feeling particularly isolated. .

Briefly stated, I wanted to do something nice for somebody, and so I became a Patreon. I was also emotionally hijacked when Kylie prepared one of her post-Christmas videos on love with a discussion developing on Instagram. It caught me off-guard and hit me in the solar plexus. I revealed, though quickly deleted, how I had lost my husband to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Though not before Kylie and several people had read it.
I had been in a May to December relationship and my husband was considerably older than me. He had gone into remission in 2014, but the cancer returned in 2017, and I spent two frantic months flying between Qatar and the UK. I was with my husband at the moment of death, which was painful and horrific. He no longer recognised me on the last morning of his life, but just 25 minutes before he died, he opened his eyes, and they locked with mine. He could not speak but waved at me as though he were taking a train or a plane for a very long journey, and I waved back. His breathing altered, becoming increasingly sporadic, and 25 minutes later, he gasped his last breath. It was the most special farewell of my life. It touched Kylie’s heart and as well as the hearts of some of her Insta followers, and she sent me the sweetest email. I mailed Kylie a modest gift of a book I had recommended, together with a pair of Richard Ginori, Oriente Italiano espresso cups. Ginori is one of my favourite Italian porcelain manufactories, and I adore the shop in Firenze. See 2 mins 46

I became disenchanted with it all when there seemed to be this concentration on the renovations, love, marriage &c. Maybe I lost empathy because it didn’t resonate with me. I did get tired of the sycophantic followers. I also felt that Kylie was beginning to cater mainly to her North American fans (I think most followers must be North American). I don’t entirely feel good about myself for coming onto this thread, as I don’t want to gratuitously hurt people or be overly critical of their endeavours. I try to be as measured as I can for the most part.

Two disclaimers: Kylie genuinely touched my heart, and that is why I did what I did. She has not extorted money from me, and I didn’t offer her anything I could not afford to give. When her creative output became tired, I stopped. I am not a vulnerable old lady who was tricked or deceived in any way. No two bereavements are the same but it took me approx 3 years to process my loss and when I felt ready to move on COVID happened.

Second, I am not a fan of holocaust movies (too tragic), but there are two moments IMHO in La Vita è Bella which are so poignant. This is one …

So, with a few customary Pliny digressions, there you have it @Jerry!

off topic question, but as she probably is reading here, what content would we want her to post? As I can't travel, I would like travel content, I don't want to see that house/kayak, even just filming food in italian restaurants so I can live vicariously. anyone else?
I would like to see beautiful italian buildings etc but ,really, what could she add to it, if she films anything it just ends up as her in focus adding boring commentary. Her parents must be travelling around surely, why has she not made the most of this?
It would be disingenuous for me to respond to this question with future content ideas as I do not want, in any way, to encourage her to continue along the youtuber, influencer, patreon scammer path. From the outset I found her narcissism unbearable but she was living in Rome at the time and that backdrop appealed to me. I'm not quite sure why I would continue to check in on her every now and again, some kind of morbid curiosity I guess, but in doing so I found this forum, yay, and have enjoyed being a part of the exposé.
So I vote for no future content from KF.

Stop focusing on herself and put the focus on the actual subject.
Don't reckon that's on the cards 😂

Grazie @Alessandro for the thread title.
Recap from thread 3-
-KyLie had her non wedding (neither official nor religious) despite being against restrictions at the time in a very boring video which mainly focussed on her lying on the floor surrounded by flowers
-She posted a long an rambling "part 1" Q&A, part 2 has not been forthcoming.
-Having asked followers to suggest honeymoon locations several of them were dismissed based on the fact that she had been to sid places "with an ex"
- Since posting the non-wedding video she has been radio silence on both youtube and instgram.

That is all I remember atm, as usual add anything I have missed!
