Personally I found those stories hard to watch last night, doula there again, and those 2 in bed laughing and joking like teenagers because they were late to bed again on a night they have the help. I question where is her mum? I know things are difficult covid wise at the minute but surely a mum's help is preferrable to a night nanny? I know we are all different, and as I've said before on here, I found motherhood difficult at first, but they seem to be going round things in the wrong way? I follow a couple of other 'celebrity' mums and the difference between those and Kate is off the scale. Please someone step in and save the day.
I watched last night's posts literally agog. Who is advising Kate? Why isn't anyone being honest with her? The pair of them on their phones laughing and joking about how late they were staying up while their baby was in another part of the house with a virtual stranger was horrible to witness. Awful, self-absorbed and selfish people. No emotional intelligence at all (in fact, no actual emotions).

As for asking about her mum - I think that's unfair. Her parents are most likely in their 70s and have raised their own children. Why should they be getting up in the night to tend to their 40 year old's newborn just because she can't be bothered?? I know many people that won't overburden their parents with more than a few days childcare because it's not fair.

Noa is Kate and Boj's newborn baby - they clearly have no interest in raising a child and that's entirely on them.

I dont think we need to keep it going that mums should struggle in silence, or shut up and put up cos 'what did you expect', more should be done to actually help new mums, we shouldnt just be left to it when its actually a vulnerable time - but it is mad, they are very privileged to be able to afford help like that.

I cant help but think when Kate turns a corner and can fully embrace motherhood (she said first 8wks she wasnt ok - i dont think she is now), she will wish she did this stage differently. But then, most mums can say the same. I certainly can!
How has she not had help exactly??

Everyone else is awake WITH their little ones, not because of. Imagine paying someone to have your child so you can sleep and just lying in bed til really late then getting up at babies feed time anyway. Put your phone down and keep it dark
She's not up to feed her newborn. She's up to express because she expresses for HERSELF. It makes her feel good/ better/ thinner. Sorry she's acting very very odd. There is no love for that baby at all.

He's been up since 6.45 with Noa.. What does he want? A round of applause for caring for his own daughter?!
Also known as 'getting up'. How many people are up earlier to get the kids ready and get to work? I am literally in shock at these two. They clearly have had everything handed to them on a plate, have absolutely no concept of hard work and have never met a baby before! I don't find either of them remotely sympathetic. I feel horribly sorry for that baby though.

I would guess she’s only expressing in the night (the nights when Stand-in Mum Siobhan is there) to relieve herself, as she will still be experiencing engorgment at this stage. There’s no way she’s doing it for any other reason, no way. Not after the stories I’ve seen of this selfish pair clowning around laughing and being dic ks at 11.15pm whilst their newborn is with a stranger.

What I wonder is where are her mates? Where is Alison? One bit of podcast I did catch was with her, and I remember her saying she had to get on with it with her son from him being weeks old because the dad left (is that right? Did I imagine that?), I’d have thought she might have been a bit of support? Given her head a wobble.
Mind you, maybe she’s shaking her own head in disbelief like the rest of us....

I do think she’s avoiding Noa because she’s scared to be on her own, because she doesn’t know what to do, that bond and easing of those fears won’t form until she spends more time with her.
It’s a sad situation all round tbh. I do feel like she’s really publicly floundering for everyone to see but no one is really stepping in and looking after Kate in all this either

I'm against shaming her friends and family. If she really is going through it then they are probably helping behind the scenes. If she is just a self-absorbed narc that isn't interested in parenting, it's not her friends and families job to fix that.

Im talking generally; other countries really step up and help out. Here, its weird and mums expected to get on with it. I remember feeling like it was a dirty secret to say how tough and tit it can be. And mental health care - the perinatal mental health care roll out was good but so many still fall through the gaps.

I totally agree with that. I asked family and friends for help and I had two people say
‘What help do you exactly need or even want?!’ Neither are parents but I didn’t get any. It’s been a tough year!

And what help did you need?

Kate would have done better to have had a helper come in a few hours every day rather than a night nanny 3 nights a week. If she really was seeking help from doulas then why did no one say right "you go have a nap/shower/walk the dogs/ whatever and I'll take care of things here?" Which is what kate actually needs.

In my opinion she is too focussed on boj-job. There is something amiss in her relationship with him. He absolutely is not supporting his girlfriend though this time.

So the night nanny has been "up all night with Noa" and out working for another family all day today🤔

Noa can't be that bad then!

I agree! When she first mentioned the doula (when Noa was about 10 days old!) she sold it as a person who comes in and takes baby for a few hours to let you have a shower, nap, eat something and she claimed her and Bodge actually SAT DOWN and ate breakfast (unheard of until your baby is at least 3 months old, but hey Ho they managed it at 10 days) but then all of a sudden the doula wasn’t a day helper anymore and was now a night Nanny (I assume when the sleep deprivation kicked in)

Since then all I’ve seen Boj do is cook the meals (to be fair that’s more than my man ever did when mine were newborn 🤣🤣)

But then my man went back to work after about 4 days so I just got on with it and lived on cereal bars for months on end 😂 I’d have killed for a salmon fillet!

Genuine qu as I formula fed my baby.. do you actually have to pump / express in the early hours of the morning?! What if you have no night nanny and your babe decides to sleep through?

If your feeding your baby you just feed it. If your pumping you will need to keep up supply as a pulp isn’t as efficient as a baby, and nighttime milk is more abundant and fattier. So she will have to get up at least every 3 hours

To be honest, just someone to make a cup of tea, have a chat to, make a meal, hold the baby for me to shower. I know every parent struggles with all these things but the initial part of the pandemic where you could see no one, had none of the usual things that people get when you have a baby it was really tough. Now the new baby fascination has worn off. It was more the sarcasm and harshness from people when I just needed a bit of support, as has been said it does seem to be more of a community/village thing in other countries, we do push for mums to
be super mum and do it all with no help and don’t worry about the house etc but it doesn’t get done if we don’t do it. All in all, Kate I think has had a lot of help but not what she actually needs, she needs support to bond and good advice that maybe the way they’ve gone about it hasn’t helped her feel confident 🤷‍♀️

It must be very difficult for her. She was very vocal about how much she did not want children. She even did TV interviews about how adamant she did not want children.

Then she has a child. Someone who is 100% dependent on you for everything. It is overwhelming. It’s overwhelming for those new mums who desperately wanted to be mums, but for those who didn’t... I can’t even compute what it must be like.

I’m guessing her life was pretty cushty before being a mum. Yes, she has dogs, which are a responsibility, but nothing like being a mum. It takes a while to realise you can’t just up and leave the house without it being a military operation.

I get the impression that she can’t see the wood for the trees and is pretty lost. Although she’s trying to be honest, she also has to put some front on for the ads and TV show she’s being paid to do. It seems like a very confusing place to be in and I don’t envy her one bit.

Once the baby starts sleeping through the night your body does adjust. No woman on earth should be getting up to pump if the baby sleeps through. Yes you'll wake up engorged the first few days but it's all about supply and demand. Kate doesn't want to get up and feed noa but she knows if she stops pumping her milk will run out because she's not physically breastfeeding noa on demand. The expressing in the night and storying is very odd.

I don't think her parents should jump in and help, but why isn't anyone around her telling her that her Insta is a car crash. It's absolutely horrific viewing tbh, and difficult to not relate her actions/ feelings now to how adamant she was thar she would NEVER have kids. If I was her friend or sister I'd tell her to stop sharing anything about noa/ motherhood online and seek professional help. She's coming across appallingly and no one is stop her.

Expressing milk for your baby to fed by a stranger, whilst you are actually able to feed your baby.........WOW...... what would a psychologist make of that?

poor noa 😔
