And it is not that I don't empathise with her, I feel like she needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Especially about that twit of a boyfriend - who certainly is not what she thinks/wants him to be.

From when they start school (not nursery) to puberty are the best years IMO. You can nap while watching a movie, they are really portable without to much stuff and they become a really good laugh and great company. You can take them places and you ALL can enjoy it. Good times.

Puberty is worse than the 0-4 years, that's for sure.
Im dreading the moody years!! 😂 youre absolute right though. The change when they go to school is huge!

She had her whole life in control and he comes along and says he wants a baby. Did he give her an ultimatum?

I do and I don’t feel sorry for her obviously everyone compares it to their own experiences and I know her little one had a tough start but plenty have it tougher!
I’d just echo my experience is it doesn’t get easier some babies don’t my one year old has phases where she is worse in the night now with teething etc than she was as a 10 weeks old, is she waiting for something magical to happen where everything becomes perfect?! It would be great if there was but that’s not real life is it, so sad to spend all of her daughters life wishing for this moment when she can essentially look after herself she’s got a long 5/6 years ahead of her!

If they wanted to go crazy golf or whatever it was why not just take noa? Pop her in the baby Carrier jobs a gooden. I know it’s not a competition but my husband was out of the house for 12 hours a day with my first born literally 7-7 it was hard as my baby cried ... a lot (reflux) but I/we survived. He was amazing when he was at home though and helped with all the night feeds and never moaned. Both these people are home 24/7 I literally do not understand 🤯
I’ll be honest, I’ve been living for Narinder’s comments on Kate’s IG. You can tell Narinder is a smug person anyway, but she’s loving the fact that she’s an authority over Kate on the subject of babies. Her comments are LITTERED with subtle digs about “I did this before you” and she always asks prompting questions to get Kate to admit she’s struggling. Narinder seems to be loving it!
It was the most tone deaf post of all time!

Shout out to ya, but I'm going back to bed without having to try and get my baby back to sleep - you guys just suffer while I put my ear plugs back in!

Also we don't know how close they live to Kate's parents. I'm pretty sure Kate was brought up in Bromley/Beckenham and now lives in north London. Maybe her mum still works. It may not be as black and white as we would like to think.

It doesn't really matter where her Mum lives why should she help out? Kate is 40 years old not 16. If I had asked my Mum to help out when I had my first she would have laughed me out of the house. I would maybe have more sympathy for Kate if Noa had been the result of infertility and had been wanted for years, but I feel she just flipped a coin and it landed bits up! Tough tit Kate just deal with it ,

Why would your mum “laugh you out of the house” if you asked for help and support with a new baby? That’s not normal! Most people have some level of family support, stop shaming women who ask for help!

How dare you accuse me of shaming anyone! You are not aware of my family circumstances so lay off!

And you’re not aware of anyone else’s? Don’t generalise your family dynamics and make out anyone who does have family support is incapable.

“why should she help out” Oh I don’t know, maybe because that’s what some family members do for each other? I’m sorry yours didn’t but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to be bitter.

I’d imagine her mum is late 60s or into her 70s. Mine is late 60s and I’d never ask her to do any night time looking after, so perhaps Kate is the same. Obviously I applaud any pensioner who offers bless them! But they’ve done their time so over to us younger lot for those bits. However, there are two of them in that house so they should be able to manage 24hr care of a baby that doesn’t really need much, just repetitive tasks. And they both need to acknowledge that their sleep is less nowadays.

If I asked my mum for help she would probably remind me that a million people have had kids and looked after them while still doing all she could to help. I’d be hurt if she laughed at me for saying I was finding it hard.

But then I’d never go to her cause a baby wasn’t sleeping, babies don’t always sleep 12 hours a night

Haven’t really caught up on much of this thread yet but seen a headline stating she has a nanny to deal with the nights, is that true?! Why can’t the partner help!?
My kid is 9 and still doesn’t sleep through, it’s exhausting, medicine barely helps you just have to get on with it. Thank god for Netflix and caffeine ? 😂

Bodge wanted a baby but didn’t want any responsibility of bringing them up. He expected Kate to do it all. She doesn’t want to do it either so they have now just outsourced everything.

And before anyone says oh she’s struggling etc. Well if so, then instead of using the money on a night nanny she should use it for getting some mental health advice instead.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever that they pay for help when he is there. None - there is no justification for it. If it is that Kate is exhausted then splitting it 50/50 between that would solve that surely. And don't get me started on the 'won't feed the baby but will express through the night'. That makes no sense either. If she wants Noa to be comforted by her generally then she needs to be constant.

I think its a lot of avoidance isnt it. I dont think thats from a selfish place, more overwhelm/shock. But yeah, avoidance. Feeling out of her depth when alone with Noa etc.

This whole thing depresses me so much for so many reasons. However baby is fed (she’s probably extremely confused as she’s fed multiple ways and by strangers 🥺) they need a calm constant source, eye contact and even skin to skin at that age if unsettled etc. She’s so so brand new and I really think this is ultimately down to selfishness! How awful that this will all be out there for her little girl to see in the future. So many expressions of how she wasn’t really wanted, is hard and making her upset, is palmed off at night so they can piss about. How can she not link the lack of care she’s giving to how it’s all going? Just go to bed, stick netflix on if you like, get skin to skin with that baby, face gaze with her, drink her in! Urgh.

You can see she’s suffering terribly. I’m conflicted to be honest. It’s an emotional rollercoaster watching it and I don’t know them and never met them! Ultimately I feel really sorry for that little girl because putting aside how much Kate is suffering (there is no denying that) it does appear they both feel like they’ve made a huge mistake; he seems bloody useless. No idea what he expected, pop one out for me love but I’m not doing any of the work or night feeds.....he would irritate the duck out of me. Think he would prefer to just swan off and get back to his old life. Watching it all unfold is quite infuriating!

The baby would be more settled if she had skin to skin, someone speaking to her in a soft voice and just lots and lots of cuddles. You can’t cuddle a baby too much. All these celebs seem to want a brand new baby in a sleep routine as soon as they pop them out.

Did he really say about what time to set his alarm for the morning?
Do people really sleep that soundly with a baby in the house they need an alarm to wake them?
Haven’t used an alarm for 3 years now... my son is 3 🤣

He's been up since 6.45 with Noa.. What does he want? A round of applause for caring for his own daughter?!
