Because three whole nights away a week from their newborn isn’t enough escapism for them- they needed to leave her for crazy golf too 🙄

If she was struggling with sleep deprivation (which is awful) then go bed at 9pm and not mess around on the phone. I imagine she would love to go bed early but she has to keep Boj entertained to prove how motherhood hasn’t changed her.

Thing that annoys me is you can’t even voice some of these valid concerns without being brought down in flames by her followers. People saying ‘if I had the money I’d do it’ really? You’d not mother and bond with your child if you could outsource it?? If that’s true it says a lot about you as a person.

I hate that Kate’s normalising this?! It’s like she’s a Victorian duchess...children must be seen and not heard ☹

Some people are just not maternal. A couple of women in my life are the same they’d do anything to get rid of their kids. Don’t get me wrong we all like a break, but to let someone else do everything you’re meant to be doing for your children isn’t natural to me.

I always think if I had money I’d hire a chef, cleaner etc so I could spend time with my kids without worrying about all that other boring stuff. I wouldn’t pay someone else to spend that quality time with them instead.

Id have paid for a night or two, out of sheer tired desperation 🤣 but not on a regular, not when baby is so small. Id have loved a few hours alone during the day though!

Oh to be able to have a nap in the afternoon, go to the shop alone, have a tit in peace! That’s what I’d get a doula for 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah but Kate can do all these things because Martin is at home, 24/7. They can easily both have time out to relax or do whatever they need to do - they just divide the parenting, so that one has baby while the other does whatever they want. And then swap. There’s no need at all to be paying a stranger to look after the baby when there are 2 able bodied parents at home all day every day!!!!

Just an observation. When you have PND you sometimes blame the child for not being able to shower, eat, have free time etc. But it is actually the depression that makes you not do these things.

If she is saying to herself "maybe when she sleeps through night I will feel better" "maybe when Siobhan gets here I will feel better" but when thay happens, she doesn't feel better. Then GET SOME HELP!!

The behaviour I am witnessing is not normal. I too posted gushy posts about the child I felt nothing but resentment for.

10 whole weeks of Noa. She’s rapidly growing and changing day by day. My heart hurts watching her cooing, feeding, sleeping, stretching, opening her eyes, looking around, her sleepy chops seeing us for the first time each morning and smiling, enjoying a the bath, being held by her Dad, licked on the ear by Baxter or Shirley, and recognising new things each day.

Awwwwww, has the doula filled you in on how much she is changing Kate??

She should sack off breast feeding. I think breastfeeding is lovely if you can do it without getting upset.
it’s more convenient too, putting baby straight on to feed. No sterilising bottles etc. But her method is stressing me out.
pumping in the middle of t njiyht, crying because baby isn’t latching on. Not making enough milk.
just give her some formula and share the work. If you can breastfeed, brilliant. If you can’t, then don’t. Babies getting everything it needs is also brilliant.
she should
Go to bed at 8pm, dodge can do the last feed, she gets up in the night, he does early morning. Done

That’s exactly what we did, on our second, I did last feed went to bed and my husband had her til she needed a feed again so I could sleep for few hours with our toddler. It’s all we could do to ensure we all got sleep 👌🏽

If your feeding your baby you just feed it. If your pumping you will need to keep up supply as a pulp isn’t as efficient as a baby, and nighttime milk is more abundant and fattier. So she will have to get up at least every 3 hours
Once the baby starts sleeping through the night your body does adjust. No woman on earth should be getting up to pump if the baby sleeps through. Yes you'll wake up engorged the first few days but it's all about supply and demand. Kate doesn't want to get up and feed noa but she knows if she stops pumping her milk will run out because she's not physically breastfeeding noa on demand. The expressing in the night and storying is very odd.

I don't think her parents should jump in and help, but why isn't anyone around her telling her that her Insta is a car crash. It's absolutely horrific viewing tbh, and difficult to not relate her actions/ feelings now to how adamant she was thar she would NEVER have kids. If I was her friend or sister I'd tell her to stop sharing anything about noa/ motherhood online and seek professional help. She's coming across appallingly and no one is stop her.
Thank you ladies!

To me, that’s what a doula is for. To help you out with day to day things, feeding the baby in the night to me is a very personal thing. If you’re not working and you’re getting up to pump anyway it makes no sense?
yes, like this sort of thing.https://access-nl.org/healthcare-netherlands/having-a-baby/kraamzorg-postnatal-care/what-is-a-kraamverzorgende#questions-1763
If kate can afford support, I’d think she’d be better off getting a couple of hours of sleep during the day each day. But then Bol-the-duty-dodge could presumably look after nos whilst she did that

From that post it looks to me like she just needs reassurance. Like yes you are doing well. Yes you are holding her right.. she's crying because she either wants fed, nappy change or simply a cuddle or maybe she's just tired. She just needs to be told not to worry and you'd think she could ring health visitor or ask the night nanny for advice. She's just needs reassurance. I don't know cause I'm not a mum but I'm a godmummy and all my friends have been through motherhood!

Being a new mum can be really tit for some people.
It just can be.
I didn’t feel a real connection to my children until I ditched breast feeding, which only took 2 weeks both times, so whilst a lot of people find the night feeds to be a great time for bonding, the same can’t be said for everyone.
I also had my sister come sit at our house for a few hours a couple of times when the children were days old, so my partner and I could get some sleep. Not the same as having a night nanny I know, but I felt very comfortable with it and was able to get some decent sleep, I didn’t feel concerned about spending a few hours on a different floor of the house from my newborn at all, which is obviously very different to how some of you feel.
My point is, no one size fits all when it comes to motherhood. Whilst some may feel that Kate is lacking, maybe she’s doing all she can to keep her head above water?
It seems to me that she could really do with some support - maybe she needs to talk to her doctor or health visitor.
I know lots of people have it harder and just ‘get on with it’ but the whole stiff upper lip, ‘I did this under these conditions I don’t see why they can’t do it under theirs’ narrative can be really harmful.

to balance things out, the voice she talks to her dogs with and the whole hot and bothered bull makes me want to rip my ears off

Night feeds can be lovely regardless of wether it’s a breastfeed or a bottle feed. My kids were both bottle/formula fed and I have no issues with that at all but regardless it was still nice to be up late with them giving them a bottle. I don’t think that’s exclusive to breastfeeding.

Being a new mum is hard; no one has ever said it wasn’t hard. Yes, it’s a strange and crazy time and it takes time to get back to a place of some normality. That in itself is completely normal!

I think the thing here that’s so obvious is just how Kate & Martin don’t seem to have a grip on the reality of having a child. They are behaving like stupid teenagers. They don’t want to actually put the work in to look after their child so they have got some random stranger in to do the hard graft all so that they can piss about acting like dickheads - like seriously, what normal adult couple who have a very young baby dump the child with a babysitter to go to play crazy golf...?! They are just acting like idiots. They are behaving like stupid little kids and seem to get off on it.
