Absolute belters of comments under Joe’s latest post with Rhitrition. She throws home straight under the bus without realising what she’s done (or maybe she does….)

As I said yesterday, the odds are high at least one will be as it’s genetic and he’s clearly ND himselfI actually suspect one of his children is neurodiverse, there are clear signs.

Please don’t stop a diagnosis. I know it’s scary but it will (hopefully) help him achieve his potential as sadly you struggle to get support with a diagnosis let alone without. Also, for jobs if adaptations are needed he is protected by law. Also, he will understand himself so much more and not feel ashamed if he’s not feeling like he’s to hide who he is. I share with the world I’m neurodivergent since I discovered I am. I feel empowered by it. Yeah I have moments where I realise the world isn’t made for me but I also love challenging people’s preconceived ideas of what autism and adhd are. It blows their minds. I keep hoping if I spread the word then I can help change peoples perceptions and they will be more accepting in future. Sadly dickheads like Joe show you why people don’t want diagnosedOne of my children is suspected ADHD. I have been pushing against him being diagnosed but eventually school will probably force the issue. People like Joe trying to say it's my fault that he can't focus and sit still, upsets me. Obviously it's nonsense but it makes you start questioning yourself! We often cook healthy meals from scratch and he doesn't even like chocolate or sweets (all the Halloween sweets are still uneaten). But he obviously also has chicken nuggets and pizza some of the time. Doesn't everyone do that? The rest of his class presumably sometimes have chicken nuggets too, but they don't have the same difficulty focusing![]()

I was honestly expecting him to add a splash of gin.bangs on about diet and processed food but is giving his toddler fizzy drinks (yes Joe, tonic water is a fizzy drink and full of sugar) he really is a hypocrite!
That tonic water has 5g of sugar per 100ml which is the same as Fanta!
Thank you, I know you're right it's just the stigma of admitting there is 'something wrong with him' and the fact that he can't do what the other kids can do. Also, some extremely poor family experiences with stimulant drugs have made me nervous about medicating him.Agree with all of this.
Refusing to get your child diagnosed won’t make them any less ADHD. They’ll just be left wondering why they aren’t like neurotypical kids, and hating themselves for it. Been there, done that. I didn’t get my autism diagnosis until last year.
My husband didn’t want our daughter to have an autism diagnosis (even though he knew she was) because he felt it would hold her back in life. I went behind his back. Fast forward three years and she understands herself so well, and advocates for herself too (if her social battery is wiped out, she knows what to do).
ND kids deserve to know that they’re ND, not failed neurotypicals.
Didn’t you know, exercise banishes any mental health problemsOn his stories today he said he'd been working with Children in Need and talking about child mental health. On what basis is he qualified to be talking about this topic? Surely after the ADHD fiasco he would learn to stay in his lane?
He was a self declared expert on child nutrition after indie had been on solids for a fortnight, now he’s decided he’s also a menopause specialist, educational psychologist and child psychiatrist. On his stories today he said he'd been working with Children in Need and talking about child mental health. Let's not also forget his expert teachings on how to make porridge, how to pre-warm a thermos flask and my personal favourite of the best way to teach children to swim is to take them to a swimming pool.He was a self declared expert on child nutrition after indie had been on solids for a fortnight, now he’s decided he’s also a menopause specialist, educational psychologist and child psychiatrist.
