Had this exact conversation with my fella over the weekend. He was asking about the James Charles/Tati stuff from last year (yes he’s definitely not up to speed
) and questioned about any other scandals in the beauty world, so I told him I have no idea because I don’t follow much of it anymore. Literally think I have 6 or 7 beauty YouTubers left in my subscriptions because I’m fully over the entire fake, money grabbing, attention whoring community. Anyway, I digress...Fella asked me about Jamie as one he remembers me watching years ago and I told him she’s one I no longer sub to purely because of Jack and his growing presence in all of her work, desperately inserting himself into absolutely everything. I think it really changed her content and he’s so unlikeable yet is being forced on the viewers at every given opportunity! Popping up in a vlog now and again makes total sense as the husband but this narrative of it now being ‘The Jamie and Jack Show’ is such bull and I especially hate him, and all the clout-chasing partners like him, who make sure they control so much of what the influencers put out, be it via editing videos, taking all their pictures, going on every brand trip and basically riding coattails until they inevitably leave their jobs to become Insta husbands with massive egos. Makes me cringe more than the overdone guffawing ‘hilarity’ when they pull their unfunny Jack’s ordering room service schtick.
Also, side note, her boring as duck same look in every single video was a major factor in losing all interest in her as well. She had more creativity - and credibility! - back as an Illamasqua counter girl, it’s a shame that was ditched along with any ounce of integrity she had.
