@Gentlemensrelish, I hope that baby Patum Peperium is happily reclining on your Cotswold Sideboard sweaty belly right now. Having a baby at any time is momentous but a Covid baby is doubly hard and big hugs to you both x

It actually did take 10yrs for me to get help; pushed medication and fobbed off every year or two from CMHTs until I finally hit rock bottom and was close to giving up. Early intervention is non-existent and the actual MH care is inconsistent to say the least.

Jack, though? Obliviously selfish whilst financially able to get help. bleep.

How was she a key worker? She was barely working full stop!
key wanker more like, big mirror and a tub of puréed washed beans to get her in the mood.

I may be a bit crabbit after reading all her pish about mental health. She has absolutely NO idea.

Not to get too deep with our Jackie, but Kae Tempest has properly come out as non-binary. I bleeping love her and think that Jack could well do to read and reflect:

Hold Your Own.

When time pulls lives apart
Hold your own
When everything is fluid, and when nothing can be known with any certainty
Hold your own
Hold it 'til you feel it there
As dark, and dense, and wet as earth
As vast, and bright, and sweet as air
When all there is
Is knowing that you feel what you are feeling
Hold your own
Ask your hands to know the things they hold
I know the days are reeling past in such squealing blasts
But stop for breath and you will know it's yours
Swaying like an open door when storms are coming
Hold
Time is an onslaught
Love is a mission
We work for vocation until
In remission
We wish we'd had patience and given more time to our children
Feel each decision that you make
Make it, hold it
Hold your own
Hold your lovers
Hold their hands
Hold their breasts in your hands, like your hands were their bras
Hold their face in your palms like a prayer
Hold them all night, feel them hold back
Don't hold back
Hold your own
Every pain
Every grievance
Every stab of shame
Every day spent with a demon in your brain giving chase
Hold it
Know the wolves that hunt you
In time, they will be the dogs that bring your slippers
Love them right and you will feel them kiss you when they come to bite
Hhot snouts digging out your cuddles with their bloody muzzles
Hold
Nothing you can buy will ever make you more whole
This whole thing thrives on us feeling always incomplete
And it is why we will search for happiness in whatever thing it is we crave in the moment
And it is why we can never really find it there
It is why you will sit there with the lover that you fought for
In the car you sweated years to buy
Wearing the ring you dreamed of all your life
And some part of you will still be unsure that this is what you really want
Stop craving
Hold your own
But if you're satisfied with where you're at, with who you are
You won't need to buy new make-up, or new outfits, or new pots and pans
To cook new exciting recipes
For new exciting people
To make yourself feel like the new exciting person, you think you're supposed to be
Happiness, the brand, is not happiness
We are smarter than they think we are
They take us all for idiots
But that's their problem
When we behave like idiots
It becomes our problem
So hold your own
Breathe deep on a freezing beach
Taste the salt of friendship
Notice the movement of a stranger
Hold your own
And let it be
Catching

She keeps talking about “chemical rollercoasters”. She is so dramatic. It’s a term normally used by onlookers to describe medication for severely mentally ill people, or by people looking back on a time when they had to take high doses of medication that has intense side effects.

GP’s can only prescribe anti anxiety meds and anti depressants. It’s not a big deal and hardly a chemical rollercoaster. And they would start her off on a low dose.

My suspicion is that the chemical rollercoaster involves coming off the amphetamines that she clearly never needed and obviously doctor-shopped for.

Fair play to her, though: I've had two major breakdowns (and a few minor ones) in my three decades and I know the first thing I did every time I was finally (NHS) diagnosed was to post a photo with loads of skin on show along with a huge bleeping caption of bullshit.

Oh, wait...

It's all lies, every single word of it. I don't believe a word Jack writes. Not a word.

Genuine question from someone with no clue, but is it possible that a liberal use of amphetamines could be responsible for rapid weight loss?

Me neither.
I had a horrific bereavement at the end of last year and even on my lowest days I’ve never felt the need to be a sandpaper bleep like she is. She should just go and ask someone for a role in some cockney soap or something - she’s already a professional liar.

Aye but she wouldn’t be sleeping 22 hours a day!!

I think her weight loss might be related to giving up alcohol.

I say this because my Husband stopped drinking after a serious major health issue ( not alcohol related) and lost two stones in weight.

I can't speak from experience really because the main factor in my losing weight once I started ADD meds and specialised therapy was the fact that I stopped binge-eating as a coping strategy: I was morbidly obese before diagnosis. I would assume for straight-sized people, though, that meds may indeed be a cause of extreme weight-loss, yes.

I am extremely suspicious of Jack's ADHD diagnosis, as her tweets around the time of DKL implied that it was relatively recent (as was mine) but even on an NHS pathway I was kept an extremely close eye on. Would they not have noticed that she was absolutely spiralling (if, indeed, that was the case and she's not just going through a bit of a crappy breakup?)? Is private healthcare somehow shitter than NHS care? I strongly suspect not given how much it costs.

So much in her tales just don't add up. It makes me mad because my diagnosis absolutely changed my life for the better and her portrayal of these "rollercoasters" and meltdowns and inconsistent monitoring may well put people off seeking further help.

She's a menace in martyr's clothing.

She even admitted this I think, in some long-deleted tweet, that weight loss was due to ADHD meds, and it set off some arguing on Twitter when other people jumped in saying they wished they could lose weight that way. Does anyone else remember this? Then she decided the weight loss was due to the break up.

I really don't think that this sort of speculation is fair. I lost a tit load of weight through grief.

Yes. I abused them a lot in my youth and was pretty underweight. They are a well-known appetite suppressant and a major stimulant
