I find it hard to believe her family would have nicknamed her Jack, which is a diminutive of the English form of her brother's name - it'd be like naming brothers Henry and Harry, or sisters Liz and Beth. Her family give the impression of being quite formal and 'proper', the sort of people who care about what names mean and how they're seen - see Big Dave and all hist post-nominal letters.

I don’t know how anyone could call this thread full of trolls whereas in my experience it’s full of intelligent, articulate individuals who have offered love, support and understanding to the people sharing their experiences of addiction and alcoholism- I would never have shared on the other site due to fear of judgement.

I don’t understand why giving AA related literature would be against tradition or group conscious- in my experience people buy literature directly from the aa bookstore and no funds go to the home group and group conscious has been more about finding people to fill service commitments and shares for chair meetings- however I’m happy to accept I could be wrong.

I really hope that Jacks sponsor is aware of the misinformation she is spreading and I hope to god she’s being discouraged from taking on sponsees as she is not following the steps and I can imagine her appropriating other’s experiences.

Also, and obvs I’m generalising here, her parlance isn’t that of a working class person. I say this as one, and I’m not saying it because it’s oddly fashionable at times- I’m saying it because it’s a crappy fact. And when it’s a crappy fact it’s not a fun childhood.

An example being her tweet the other day when she said ‘Dad popped round’ or whatever she said- I never met anyone round my endz saying that, they always say ‘My dad’. It’s a big bear of Steve Googan. I know it’s tiny but it’s very telling, so many things are to us adults that are scarred from having a genuine working class tough upbringing. I learned how to chop and change the way I speak to suit my audience, and I do see an awful lot of that in Jack. The difference is I do it to fit in but she does it to manipulate. I feelJack does it as she wants to be the top dog in every scenario, to be adored, to be the victim- whatever as long as it’s the ‘most’ in that particular situation. My 2 pence worth anyway. And it’s not from Jacks arse crack or tit cleavage thank duck.

I had a horrible moment where I might actually do some work and accidentally ended up on an old thread through Google. Two things stood out immediately...

Do we remember this? A charity aimed at feeding the homeless asking people to donate to a celebrity, and her liking the Tweet instead of pointing out how ludicrous this was and asking them to delete it and promote their actual mission.

There are ALDIs and LIDLs all over the place, they are cheaper and pay their staff well. What is the point of targeting the big 4 and ignoring them? The majority of the main supermarkets stores are 'local' type which are differently priced and stocked anyway, ALDI and LIDL are consistent.

I've known brothers called Edwin and Edmond, and (a different family) William and Liam (and their sister was Lydia). It's very strange. But yeah, why would anyone call her Jack? It's probably already been said but as usual, a quick Google shows her giving a different explanation in various interviews - ' She even chose the name Jack as a nod to “Jack of all trades”.'

They are truly awful people, as well. I know the people that wrote their songs and got them their record deal - they sacked and uncredited them for no reason whatsoever.
They also took the piss out of one of their exes Mums when they died and wrote a crappy song about it - and they make sure that their (young, male) backing band only get paid minimum wage whilst making sure they’re the only ones who get paid any royalties.
They’re the Jack Monroe of the music industry and I can’t wait until their 5 minutes is over.

I’ve never heard of a successful writer of many books moving into a one bed property with their almost teenage son before. Ever. It’s beyond cruel to SB. He is entitled to his own and to observe his mothers privacy.

Mind you I’ve never heard of anyone being so skint they cannot afford to own lightbulbs yet can afford a full bleeping array of Snap-On tools to open tins of shite and to make visually appealing aesthetic eggs etc so what do I know?
