I saw someone in the previous thread posted a tweet from Jack in March mentioning that the Mail had been in touch. I hadn't seen this before, I don't have Twitter. I contacted the Mail in early March once I'd heard about the Teemill thing to suggest they do some digging and listed some things she had been doing that deserved some investigation, with information gathered from my cooking/publishing adjacent cohort. I never heard back so assumed they weren't interested. I've been asking around and it sounds like some of them (who are on Twitter) *may* have heard from journalists recently.

I know this was said in jest however the whole "Jack has done more than you/most people..." to me is actually irrelevant. I don't understand why some people don't understand that you can do good things AND bad things? Notwithstanding the fact that I'm really not too sure what good she's done, the point for me is even if she HAS done good stuff, she has also done a lot of bad. The 2 can coexist and any good doesn't cancel out the bad.

reaction.I agree with you however I think the bad she has done, specifically:
1. Making people believe it's possible to live off £20 per week food
2. Taking money donations off people who stated that they were themselves skint
3. Bullying people on social media , some of them clearly quite vulnerable
4. LYING about various life experiences and conditions which are very personal and painful for some people
5. MURDERING various perfectly decent songs, such as Journey
6. Abusing innocent foodstuffs
....outweigh the good of encouraging other people to donate money to Trussell Trust.
Appreciate some people might disagree with this as charity is charity, but that's my personal view on the matter, Yer Honour.
Who was it who was in a court case (I think) and said that their tweets shouldn't be interpreted as the truth, because they are 'playing a character'? Was it Hatie Kopkins? Am I dreaming? I have a definite recollection of reading this somewhere, I'm sure of it, but time seems to have gone a bit funny in the past few years and I really have no idea when.
Anyway, the reason I mention it is because I wonder if this is going to be Jack's 'final form' on this whole mess?
I'm imagining some kind of epic response being written right now where she says something along similar lines, that being this Defender Of The Poors is something she never planned to be and she got sucked into the lying to Build Her Brand but it all went wrong because of her issues (glug, sniff) and now she's finally ready to be honest?
Is that another pig flying south for the winter?

I think you might be thinking of the Lorraine Kelly tax case where she argued that she was playing a role rather than appearing as herself on TV. That's the nearest I can think of, I don't recall anything Twitter related along those lines. Certainly wasn't Hopkins as she barely bothered saying anything in her court case with Jack.
The trouble Jack has is that she cannot explain the LIES. There are so many that it stinks of deceit. Even if she tries the ‘Oh look at me, a childish puppy who made a few mistakes’ or the ‘playing a role’ crap (bear in mind that’ll piss off a lot of squigs who will have to admit they’ve been made fools of), she has nowhere to go with the lies.
Beyond claiming to have an addiction to lies because she’s such a damaged pixie who needs attention.

Toot toot! Coming at you from the past as I’m still on the last thread but have dipped out to have a look at the replies on the Fail’s twitter article and I’ve just sat down at the start of a three-hour train journey home and I am practically giddy with glee! 
She might have got away with it IF she was actually a good food writer or campaigner but sadly she's neither

I think as well, she just appropriates SO MANY different things. Like, not even one type of thing but experiences, disabilities, personality traits, I can't even think of all the things she does but it's as though nothing can be mentioned without her having been there/done that. I think that has lead her down this path too, because of her constant need to have been through and experienced everything. I know it's plausible that people do go through a lot in life and a lot of things may be true/stem from the truth, but I find it very hard to believe that she can tick EVERY SINGLE BOX
And let’s not forget about the VBI. It’s been 10 months now - it’s pretty clear it’s never going to emerge. I wish someone would put her on the spot about it
