I am really sorry about this, because I know I posted about her being sectioned and I don't like that I made you uncomfortable.

I do believe that Jack isn't effectively managing her own health (physical and mental) at the moment, and I stand by what I said that during her late night tweeting she would have benefitted from medical intervention. When she was tweeting pictures of potentially fatal amounts of drugs and saying "not OK" over and over, I do believe that an assessment was urgently needed and if getting her in on a section was the only way to do that, it would have been entirely justified. I wouldn't throw around the mention of sectioning lightly, and fully accept that not everyone would agree. In my work I will always err on the side of caution, as I'd much rather see someone spend 2 hours being assessed under section than stand in a coroners court feeling like I could have done more, so maybe I seem trigger happy here but I assure you it's with the best intentions and I do apologise for making you (and anyone else) uncomfortable.

Just to add about the credit info. 15 odd years ago mine was trashed because I couldn’t pay my bills and they all registered as defaults. It took about six months for my great credit to crash and burn into awfulness. It was a terrible, horrific time and forms part of the basis as to why I DID admire Jack.

Being on Benefits played no part - in fact, part of my financial recuperation actually involved applying for what was then Family Credit as I had no idea I was entitled to it, due to being a deserted single parent on a part time wage. Then I got some help with council tax - which was actually the big bill that tipped me over the edge and into potential court appearance.....and I went through a lot of Money Saving Expert tips, to the point of obsessiveness. It took about 3 or so years to get debt free and I celebrated by applying for a Halifax credit card which was accepted. (I pay it off every month, when used - which is rarely).

Moving around is very bad. Not being on the Electoral Register is also bad. Defaults are bad. Benefit claiming in and of itself, is not part of any credit check that I am aware of and doesn’t preclude you from credit - although many institutions will not allow most benefits to be included in any income calculations. Self employment can cause issues because some will under-declare earnings to avoid higher tax costs if they can, which of course then ensures you can’t inflate the income for credit purposes without raising an eyebrow.

PS. Got my name on a mortgage 7 years ago - saved a lot and was carefully managing my credit file until it was gleaming. Did not buy any brand new, high end white goods, or fancy sideboards. My kids security came first.

That basically involved tramping the streets in the pissing rain delivering thousands of leaflets. I also manned polling stations at council and general elections. I delivered supporters letters. It is tedious. But you do it because you believe in a cause.

Jack? And don’t say you couldn’t because of your kid. I know of five year olds who delivered leaflets in 2014 with their mum.

Thank you I’ve had a quite severe MH crisis over the last two weeks tbh. I won’t go into it because I don’t know how to tag the trigger warning things for DV but I left a violent relationship 6 years ago and had issues with my ex since then. The Tom Keighan thing has triggered me today after reading the details. I like coming on here to vent and know it’s a safe space. Xx
