How anyone can take a look at that kitchen shot and think this person is struggling is absolutely unfathomable to me. I live in a relatively middle class, Tory stronghold location and I can tell you that neither me nor any of my local friends have set ups anything remotely like that, and we all have decent jobs/rents/mortgages/bills/kids.

Well exactly this. I’m starting to think that maybe I’m A Poor, if Jack is poverty stricken and living in a place like that then I, in my far humbler abode, must be A Poor, no? Yet… I don’t boil soap or eat slop, nor beg for cashios on the internet. So what am I?
Makes you think.

One of my friends said how great she is, I explained why she's not, gave links etc, they say Molly is crazy, mean and awful making up lies about Jack.i truly fecking despair, and then said even if it's true she still represents poor people and should be supported! Ffs I truly give up

I wonder if the bollocks about ‘matching crockery with Harold’ was so that if she posted a food photo while claiming to be at his house, she could be like ‘Actually I’m at Harold’s. He has the same weird charity shop light fitting dish as me.’ She’s an odd one.

The budget Facebook groups are all really into the new asda value range. Loads of meal plans going up and reviews of the food. Obviously those meal plans must have taken HOuRs and have been forensically done, but maybe Saint Jack of the Poors would like to chime in on the new range?
I doubt she’s talking charity, probably the Sophie conran

1700 sq ft for one person to rattle around in (and very occasionally, SB). We have less space than that for 5 of us.
Im gobsmacked. I think this may be my aneurysm.
Yep.
Our 3 bed is 900 sq ft ish for 2 adults and a child. It's not massive but it's an ample size.

She has almost double that, plus outbuildings and a massive garden.

My friend said this too. It's the new party line of the well off fauxcialist.
There's a meme something like ' who cares if Martin Lewis is minted or jack Monroe's accounts don't add up, (& some other bloke lynch ?) It doesn't matter because they're still highlighting the poors' or somesuch bollox.
Posted by a staunch lefty activist who was living the tory lifestyle long before any of our lefty friends and actual Poors even had jobs.
Always angry on behalf of marginalised groups but never actually experienced any hardship and never will.
Makes you think.

My face at the moment!!

the size of that room, the size (and price) of those cabinets plus all the baskets on top which are different to the ones in the kitchen.
in a way I don’t care, and it isn’t my business how someone furnishes their home, but she has got some front in pleading poverty. I’m really annoyed at this!!

I think I might have to pretend I Am A Poor too and start using baking trays as hot water bottles come this winter. I'll pass at eating the slop though, I wouldn't feed that to my non-existent dog.

Hi folks, I have to dip in to say that this thread title is perfection! 👩‍🍳💋

Other miscreants' threads have the decency to ebb & flow in volume but being an overachiever (ahem...), our Jackie's do not. So I can't keep up with all your fab observations and hilarious comments.

Love & chapeau to all fraus & mithering ninnies for keeping up with the shenanigans from Slop-end-on-Sea. I am very much looking forward to Molly's blog ♥

I count three dressers in there alone. She also has sideboards, coffee tables and a TV unit (I think?). She has spent THOUSANDS on furniture. Christ knows what it must have cost to fill them up with so much tableware etc.

Again, I don't begrudge anyone nice things, I'm a spender and homewares is one of my fave things to buy. But I'm not sitting here pretending to boil soap as I can't afford shampoo and begging people on the Internet for money.
