If we didn't know Jack better we could be forgiven for mistaking this sanctimonious screed for satire. It would show Chris Morris levels of ingenuity as a parody... except she actually means it.

And of course... OF COURSE... she is blameless in the entire thing. Poor single mum Jack whose poverty porn narrative must never, ever be questioned.

My son and his class of 14-16 year olds had to write a poem about social injustice for their citizenship class after watching a film about a black female scientist from America whose name escapes me - and they all did a better job, even my son whose poem had the non ironic refrain - "is it because I'm black/that you think my science is slack?"

I've been pondering how she managed to fit all these jobs in? She's 32, SB is 10, so she's not 'worked' in that sense since she was 21ish (not stalking, she's mentioned their birthdays are in the same month, so allow for that crossover mat. leave bit) Assuming Saturday jobs starting at maybe 14, that's only really seven years to do all these things.

Shall I hire Jimmy Nail to drive over in an ice-cream van later today as a treat? Dispense some Soleros and do a short set that only consists of one song? I’ll bring party bags, a jar of mayo and red lipstick in each one

I am very left wing but I hate this sneering, sancitminous attitude that some lefties have. The views Jack is writing about are deeply ingrained into a lot of the population. Do you think by putting them down and making them sound like stupid idiots that you're going to change their minds?

And depending on where you read, she worked for the fire service for 2/3 years.

I do believe that she's probably had fuck loads of jobs though. She probably got sacked off/quit in a huff every few days.

You read my mind In fairness I had a lot of temp jobs as a teenager and young adult because securing a permenant contract is hard. It's not something I reference every time I need a decent proof point though.
