My son and his class of 14-16 year olds had to write a poem about social injustice for their citizenship class after watching a film about a black female scientist from America whose name escapes me - and they all did a better job, even my son whose poem had the non ironic refrain - "is it because I'm black/that you think my science is slack?"
I am very left wing but I hate this sneering, sancitminous attitude that some lefties have. The views Jack is writing about are deeply ingrained into a lot of the population. Do you think by putting them down and making them sound like stupid idiots that you're going to change their minds?

In fairness I had a lot of temp jobs as a teenager and young adult because securing a permenant contract is hard. It's not something I reference every time I need a decent proof point though.
