Fellow hasufrau, I want to say thank you. All this chat about MH and recovery, hobbies and charlatans has made me reflective. I'm been spending the lockdown thinking about myself (how JM) and have begun taking tentative steps towards my PGED in primary education. I'm hoping to start next year. I'm the same age as JM and looking as her house of cards begin to fall, I felt sorry for her. She's buggered when this is over. I've not been in work for a while so my skills are dated. I begun thinking about what makes me happy and fulfilled. My daughter has had a gorgeously supportive teacher who has made a real impact on her confidence, education and overall happiness. Wouldn't it be great to be able to help like that?
As we broke down JM's lies and how she doesn't actually help, it made me realise I did. My priority would be to move into working with disadvantaged children, or those who need help outside mainstream education. Without seeing some mirroring of myself, I don't think I'd ever taken the time to figure this out. I still want to be able to take my daughter to clubs and not be rushed. I want to be able to feel fulfilled and I don't want to be 38 when she finishes school and be entering the workforce at the bottom.
So I'd like to reiterate that thank you for giving this internet troll the confidence to move on from housewife life. Like I said tentative steps. I think I need to brush up on some stuff and I'm trying to get some classroom experience. Be the change you want to see, not a grifter in socialist clothing.
I best learn how to proof read. 😆 😆
Amazing and good for you to get some clarity. My friend did it 3 yrs ago and is loving her job. She got some great teaching experience locally that really set her up for the interviews etc. You will be fab (as you know you’ve really helped me with all the info on dyslexia and I can’t thank you enough) x

Ouch 😦 I hope you can get it sorted!

You have my sympathy, as a fellow tooth grinder. I have a very sexy mouthguard thing to wear at night, because I'd worn them to the point of needing fillings.
Thank you @Cookiecookie . I wear a mouth guard but had actually ground through it and was about to get a new one when lockdown happened 😱 Phoned dentist and only emergencies now so they won’t take me as no pain!

Oh I know, I had quite a few short term temp jobs in my early twenties! It's just that I think she's... let's say embellishing her CV somewhat.
It's that she had these jobs for a short time and considers herself a voice of authority in every industry she's worked in that's the problem.

The best of luck to you, it's a big step, and I'm sure you'll be great. A good friend of mine is a mature student just finishing up her primary teaching postgrad, a lot of work by the sounds of it, but incredibly rewarding too. Good on you!

It was me! It's properly laugh out loud funny isn't it? And very naughty.
Yes! I looked like a mad person walking along HOOTING to myself.
This is a long post to read if you can be bothered but since it’s on the subject of patron I thought I would share that my artist friend has launched hers and it couldn’t be more different than JM. So much gratitude to her audience who help her pay her bills.
This is very sweetly written, bless her.

And this highlights exactly the point of Patreon. To me it isn't supposed to be a gift, it's a way to pay people for a tangible output. I support two podcasts on Patreon because they put out something excellent that I listen to every week and people shouldn't be expected to do that for free. But as well as that they do loads of extra Patreon content.

I can only imagine her Patrons have simply forgotten they subscribed.

I don't have the brain power today to think of a snappy thread title, but surely beg-a-Smeg has to fit in there somewhere 😂

47 broken bones in her foot, almost new fridge gone kaput, and no freebie from Smeg to boot!

I got mine off Amazon a few years ago, they sent me goo and a guard, then I did and impression and sent it back.

Spot on. I thought the same.

Not bragging but sharing. I managed to snarfu a 16 kg bag of bread flour off Amazon today. Seeing as I am baking lots of bread, including for neighbours, I consider it a good find!

Ah so it’s Jamie now is it, rather than THAT MAN!!
She is such a complete and utter witch.

I have woken in a foul mood, after realising I was grinding my teeth so badly I have chipped a huge piece off my front tooth. Not sure today I can read any JM nonsense and not reply. She’s already blocked me on Twitter so it may need to be Instsa!!
Have a couple of linty hugs and a zerb badass. xxx

Just because, I have missed him.

Not an entry as way too long - just a lunchtime musing .....

Beg a Smeg ... Weird-looking poached egg ... Anchovy fingers ... Christ that smell lingers ... Louisa moved out ... Check out my pout ... Communicate with Mum on Twitter? ... I'd rather Nigella say I look fitter ... Finding my inner GI Jane ... 47 broken bones and no pain ... Tracey Emin on the wall ... Still waiting for that BBC call ... My ex left saying I was erratic ... VITAMIN D BABY - I'M ECSTATIC!!

Jack Monroe #17 Poor bald headed beg-a-Smeg, she still can’t beat THAT MAN’s shed.

"Dissenters", does she mean Italians that would love for their traditional recipes to remain authentic?
She's talking absolute crap again as usual, anyway. Neither Jamie nor the BBC use cheddar, though I think Jamie said it was OK to do if you didn't have any other cheese on the programme he STOLE from Jack.

In her own words - She is untrained. She is irreverent. She is a maverick. She is a tosser. The Italians will just have to learn to move with the culinary times.
