I saw Mike Tindall on BBC Breakfast this morning. He was talking about how the pandemic has been impacting on the charities he supports and I guess hopefully raising some awareness of them. It made me think that although Jack styles herself as a poverty campaigner and food bank qsupporter (though think that has disappeared from her Twitter bio and been replaced by TV presenter) she very infrequently users her sizeable platform to promote these causes, small charities etc. And if she does mention them, it's because she has donated some books or something else self serving so actually ends up all about her anyway.
Thats because JM is a beggy leech and what shes doing is leaching off food banks, not supporting them with her profit orientated books filled with digusting, wasteful recipes. And heres a shot of my gorgeous dog for her printer. Edited to take out all the other pictures i added by accident 🙈

My husband finds it interesting that Quack doesn't provide any nutritional information for her recipes. Had a look thru a few of my cook books just now and they all have it.

I have woken in a foul mood, after realising I was grinding my teeth so badly I have chipped a huge piece off my front tooth. Not sure today I can read any JM nonsense and not reply. She’s already blocked me on Twitter so it may need to be Instsa!!
Ouch 😦 I hope you can get it sorted!

You have my sympathy, as a fellow tooth grinder. I have a very sexy mouthguard thing to wear at night, because I'd worn them to the point of needing fillings.

yehthe only time ive seen her mention food banks was a bragging tweet to the food bank in question stating how much she'd given with a receipt
There is a very old picture (before the receipt one) kicking around of bags and bags of Sainsburys bags at a food bank with the name Monroe on it. It was a tasteless thing to do, even more, tasteless to see.

Loving the Lucille Ball pics - she was a very funny and talented woman, that's for sure!

May be quicker to list the jobs JM doesn't claim to have had - she has quite some resume for a woman of 32.

(Eta - some words)

To be quite frank, that pesto looks utterly revolting. Slimy salad is particularly unpleasant and I can't imagine that blending it improves the texture!

While I don't doubt that she's telling some porkies, I have a really long and varied CV at 26 that includes working in taxation, finance, international relations, data analysis, legal and retail. The difference is,nearly all my jobs were short term contracts of between 3 months to a year and I worked full time while I was in uni. I've sat in interviews and I have them ask was my CV out of date (because I was working full time while studying for an undergraduate degree) or that my experience didn't match my age. So it does happen that someone can have a lot of different jobs but that requires a little more grit than what Jack has

This is a long post to read if you can be bothered but since it’s on the subject of patron I thought I would share that my artist friend has launched hers and it couldn’t be more different than JM. So much gratitude to her audience who help her pay her bills.
I'm confused... Where's the narky sense of entitlement? The contempt and disregard for her followers? Not even a hard done by speech?? Most strange. Are you quite sure she's got this Patreon lark right?

MFK Fisher’s food writing is lovely. She was an American who lived in France.

Podcasts - have been enjoying the Louis Theroux lockdown one, and Attaboy Clarence which looks at old Hollywood movies.

@Breakdance Badass - so sorry about your tooth.

Oh I know, I had quite a few short term temp jobs in my early twenties! It's just that I think she's... let's say embellishing her CV somewhat.

Fellow hasufrau, I want to say thank you. All this chat about MH and recovery, hobbies and charlatans has made me reflective. I'm been spending the lockdown thinking about myself (how JM) and have begun taking tentative steps towards my PGED in primary education. I'm hoping to start next year. I'm the same age as JM and looking as her house of cards begin to fall, I felt sorry for her. She's buggered when this is over. I've not been in work for a while so my skills are dated. I begun thinking about what makes me happy and fulfilled. My daughter has had a gorgeously supportive teacher who has made a real impact on her confidence, education and overall happiness. Wouldn't it be great to be able to help like that?
As we broke down JM's lies and how she doesn't actually help, it made me realise I did. My priority would be to move into working with disadvantaged children, or those who need help outside mainstream education. Without seeing some mirroring of myself, I don't think I'd ever taken the time to figure this out. I still want to be able to take my daughter to clubs and not be rushed. I want to be able to feel fulfilled and I don't want to be 38 when she finishes school and be entering the workforce at the bottom.
So I'd like to reiterate that thank you for giving this internet troll the confidence to move on from housewife life. Like I said tentative steps. I think I need to brush up on some stuff and I'm trying to get some classroom experience. Be the change you want to see, not a grifter in socialist clothing.
I best learn how to proof read. 😆 😆
This is amazing! It made me a little bit emotional ❤

Jack is so ridiculous. She preaches a middle class idea of what she thinks poor people should be grateful to eat - joyless, tasteless slop in other words
This is so true! The only reason she hasn’t been rumbled for this over the years is because the liberal elite in the media who gave her a platform did so not because they actually rated her as a cook but because they subconsciously agreed that poor people should be grateful for joyless slop.

I think championing a “poor person” like Jack made them (The Guardian, Nigella, Fortnum & Mason etc) feel good about themselves. Look at us! Being all inclusive and tit!

And she was the acceptable face of poverty too - a lefty lesbian single mother of one, not one of those stupid feckless underclass single mother types. There’s no way someone with that profile would have got themselves a platform like Jack did.

Oh Badass, sorry for your trouble. But if it helps and you need bowls of slop to reduce any more impact on your teeth, I can recommend some books. Possibly a website. You will be expected to tip the “chef”, though x

this is super interesting and tbh a dissertation could be written on it. Agreed completely. I actually think the fact she is MC and fell upon hard times and it could happen to any one of us!!! Is a huge part of her schtick. This is why I’d also love for her to open up her platform to feature the “unacceptable” faces of poverty - first gen immigrants, BAME individuals, women with regional accents tbh 😂, disabled women, older women, etc etc.

Tbh even women from up north not that that’s a marginalised identity - but London/wider SE benefits from the disproportionate investment in infrastructure & particularly the arts. I grew up poor but still had access to the best museums and galleries in the country for free, and my travel to get there was free. Our school always got free trips to plays. We had talks and workshop days hosted by authors and poets just cos they lived local? We got to go to these mad science talks in a posh old building in Greenwich park too. Lived in bus distance of 3 good libraries I could study for my GCSEs in & use computers at. If you’re poor in Birmingham you don’t have any of that tit at all??

It’s like because she dipped her toe into poverty in adulthood she misses so much of the bigger picture and isn’t opening her eyes to it... I’m sure I’ll get done in court for this blasphemy x

Wow this is wonderful. Don’t worry about not having been in education for a while. You’ll soon get the hang. Don’t doubt yourself. There are plenty of people pretending their way in jobs they aren’t up to so don’t have any worries. Small steps and you’ll soon be in the swing I’m sure. Good luck 👍

Probably nominated herself she is that arrogant. (don't sue me). How anyone could nominate plates for slop for this award might want to go to Specsavers.

The ones that have teeth, probably not.

Because the food is grim. You cannot make wanksplat in a bowl look good.
wanksplat would be a great user name.
