It may have been addressed, but why was Ollie turned down for fostering/adopting by the HSE?
I don’t think she said the exact reasons she was given, I stand corrected tho

But she would stand little to no chance being single and not having money (like she can’t be minted if she needs a go fund me), her job wouldn’t be a top earner kind of job, she lives with a friend.
Now we all know them circumstance doesn’t mean she couldn’t love a child to bits etc, but when your up against a long waiting list of couples, couples who have money, couples who can provide for a child on one salary…like there is just so many variables she wouldn’t stand a chance unfortunately

I'm guessing the people including Ollie trying to join here today and being blocked from posting is because the minute they sign up they are going on a full on rant. Like I joined here over a year ago, and liked comments etc before posting anything. It's probably about building a profile here and so to prevent people joining for that exact reason of coming on to answer 1 thing specifically. This is a community of people discussing their opinions so not opening it up to the system of tattle being abused which is what they wanted to do exactly, fire back abuse at someone they don't agree with. Move on Ollie please, you're the one obsessed with here and playing the victim.

I’m assuming age and being single income maybe ?
I would say her mental health was against her too. She said many times she’s suffered with depression etc. i know when I went for fostering it was because of my mental health, (depression and anxiety) I was knocked at the first hurdle.

I never heard or Tattle life until Ollie started talking about it, so I dropped by to see what all the fuss was about. When I read the comments, I have to say they were all valid point and the majority of stuff said were things I had been thinking myself. She's very immature and definitely lacks common sense/cop on. I don't know how or why she thinks that she knows enough to be giving fertility info, because she always fails to get it right. Only speak facts or don't speak at all! And this whole Greek family and Serum staff being her family/friends - She's deluded and inappropriate. How can she keep recommending Serum when everyone's situation is so different, yet she can totally diss Irish clinics no problem. I think it was because the Irish clinic(s) were actually realistic with her and stated the obvious about her fertility status and weight/BMI.

She must have read all the comments here as she had posted. I hope she stops posting pics of "hot docs" and "baby daddy's" now.

I did think it was funny that the English lady who’d been staying with her was like “don’t contact me, I’ll contact you.”
Erm…take the hint.

Exactly. A number of friends of mine have had good experiences in clinics in Ireland, others abroad. Every journey is different. Irish clinics not supporting her can only go by their experience of success.

I don’t know about fostering here but adopting is all but impossible even for couples. There’s very few countries we can adopt from when we’re living in Ireland. Like less than 5 I think. Adopting from the US is one of them but I think it takes about 4 years if approved for it. Her age may be going against her too.

I'm a former Serum patient, and yes they are lovely and treat you well and all are very friendly, but it's really down to the patient and how they present themselves and interact. Penny is lovely but sometimes I think they are all too nice so they would never tell anyone they are being too over familiar and crossed the line. This is where the problem lies, lines get blurred and some women in a, lets face it, vulnerable position, might not know where to draw the line. Especially if you have no direct support system. Yes Ollie has friends etc, and tries to make friends with other Serum ladies, but it's not the same. She is relying too much on Penny and team. I have been in those very scanning rooms with those very Dr's, and I am absolutely mortified about the way she is "joking" around with them. Someone in Serum needs to have a gentle chat with her and explain that she cannot continue like this. It really doesn't reflect well on the clinic. Yes Ladies wanted to be treated with respect and care, but also want to have confidence that the clinic is 100% professional at all times.

I feel bad for her and wish her the best. Penny was the same with me, encouraging to use own eggs time after time but after many many rounds we parted ways with them as I felt we were just wasting valuable time and money. And it is hard to walk away from them when they have been so nice, but I think that also maybe a crucial business practice for them.

Moved to another clinic, again very nice but by god you wouldn't get away with that behaviour there.
I don’t really hear that many success stories with Penny and Serum, obviously she has to have had success but shows how much disappointment there is in the IVF World.

I have 2 friends going through the adoption process at the moment. I don't think they will reject you solely on bmi but it's taken in the context of a medical review. The process is extremely difficult an invasive though including going through bank statements. My friend said they can even ask to speak to your exes

To adopt or foster your whole life is under a fine tooth comb, your medical history and your mental health there are so many I to dot and T to cross.

First time poster , long time reader. I definitely don't think any comments on here are valid and making good points.

I'm also a previous Serum patient. After being on a 10 year plus journey and using clinic here and abroad I would absolutely say Serum are far more advanced than clinics here. Penny started the clinic because she had issues herself over 30 years ago so she is incredibly empathic with her patients. Alot of clinics here are blunt not because they are being honest but because they don't want to affect their sucess rates. They tend to turn down complicated cases. Serum specialises in complicated cases, it's not generally somewhere you end up for your 1st fertility treatment. All that aside.
I have actually emailed Peny and mentioned that some of the insta stuff is damaging the clinics reputation. I've 2 friends I've recommended the clinic to and both are very nervous and worried about misinformation etc. I really hope in Ollies case she gets her happy ending but 2 follicles do not equal 2 eggs let alone 2 viable embryos when you are in your 40s sadly.
Gianni the dr in the video is a fantastic dr but as friendly as I remember him from meeting him multiple times I was cringing with second hand embarrassment during that clip. He is incredibly professional and lovely to deal with.
Penny is very friendly, invested and overjoyed with each and every sucess. She emailed me during my pregnancies to check all was OK and congratulated me when my babies arrived. I've known her for years but no she is not family. She is a lovely woman who is dedicated and passionate about helping people with infertility grow their families. At the end of the day its a business and penny is a business woman. Ita a more personal service because its family run but I think ollie is definitely overstepping with her videos and remarks.

I wish Ollie every sucess. Its a tough journey but posting publically brings positive and negative opinions unfortunately.

Sorry that post above meant to say the comments are valid and making good points. Apologies

On my last trip to Serum in 2019 there was a whatapp group of 14 ladies. Each ended up with sucess and a baby born. Not all directly via IVF but alot also from the hysteroscopy and investigations they do. Most couples are told to try naturally for 6 months if issues are found during the investigations and rectified. Not saying its a 100% sucess rate at all(like all clinics unfortunately there are people who never get their miracle) but as I said in my above thread they take on alot of complicated cases where people have tried for years.

@Reasons Unknown great post and wanted to come on to say I’m also a serum patient and echo everything you’ve said about Penny and the clinic. We went after disappointment and lack of support in Irish clinics. They’re a business at the end of the day but also lovely - we had a particularly tough fourth round with them and Penny was wonderful to us. She didn’t give us false information BUT also didn’t lead us down a garden path of false hope. We’re still with them as have an FET upcoming but after that will be moving on - not because of anything they’ve done but just because the travelling is taking it’s toll. Compared to Ireland they are very affordable. With own egg ivf Two rounds for 4K is huge when you’re in the unfortunate position of having to do multiple rounds. They’re very advanced and decisions are made best on your individual case.

Just wanted to speak about serum as if anyone on this page might go there I wouldn’t like to see them derailed by the instagram page of a patient (I’ve not been on the page).

Wow ! Two standard cycles of IVF for £4k ?!? That's unreal! My rounds of ICSI here were £4975 each ! Before meds.
Think their prices have increased since as its now €3,000 for ICSI. Realistically how long would you have to go to Athens for? Just wondering if it would make sense for us to go there. I had planned on going to Dr Lyuda but seems she isn't doing treatment anymore, just consultations and then you go to another clinic for treatment

For a full cycle you need about 10 days. It makes sense financially if you time it to go from Sept to April/may. Accommodation is cheap if you go Airbnb and you can eat out cheaply. The metro is cheap and super easy to use and taxis are not expensive.Summer is expensive for flights last minute and Accommodation but you can make a holiday out of it.
There really aren't any extras either. A couple of blood tests maybe. The drugs payment scheme still allows Greek prescriptions as its in the EU.

Wow. Its so lovely to hear stories about success. We're about to embark on fertility treatment and I'd definitely consider Serum but would be wary if the IG stuff at the moment
