I don't think she's ever wanted to work - she's always thought she was above that kind of thing. Acting and modelling for her seems to have been more about the potential fame, money and glamour, the fancy parties with all the in people, her face in magazines, and being feted for her beauty than about any passion for the work itself or even pride in working, being independent and earning her own money. She seems to have spent her whole life believing someone else should pay her bills and take care of her. She probably would have been better off if she had stayed as a professional beard.
I think life was very different for Alice when she was young and beautiful, charming and vivacious. I can totally see her escorting, both professionally, and in a more socialite sense as an it girl about town willing to sleep with the right people for money and favours. She's not going to out anyone solely because to do so would be outing herself, and she wants people to believe she was successful on her own. She reveals herself all over SM when she's boasting about how clever she is, when she thinks she's in the right, but the fact is she can keep her mouth shut when she knows it's in her best interests to do so. Like Mimsy, I think that $100,000 childhood money probably came from OP. Wherever it came from, she never mentioned it when she was signing 50plus pages in the prenup.

100% this! Acting for Ioan is his vocation and for Alice it was just a means to an end. The fact she was so derogatory towards Ioan about his career during their marriage when he failed to rise to become a billboard name shows her true character. I don't know if she really did earn that much. I always thought the £100k was to do with OP, but now I wonder if her dad gave it to her when he cut ties, so she would duck off and leave them alone (perhaps in lieu of inheritance, could be why she describes it as ‘childhood money’). This would have been during the marriage so not in the pre-nup.
