I don't have any problem with clearly labelled ads and the monetization of content when an influencer has built a following.
What irks me is that all this gifting and discounts has homogenized design. Everyone has the same gifted brands in their house. There's clear style tribes on IG (scandi/boho/period/faux period) and all the homes within these categories look more or less the same.
The only accounts that are worth following, in my opinion, our actual interior designers. Yes they're advertising their services but you see things that are different and so well thought out. You get a sense of the person the home was designed for which is wonderful! Not the same 'be kind' prints and loaf sofas.

What I don’t understand is why on earth you would stoop to swipe ups when you are obviously very wealthy and don’t need the dosh?
It's bloody embarrassing and so attention seeking I mean genuinely who would be checking in on him after 1 or 2 days. Do these instagrammers sign a contract committing to daily posts ...why is he apologising. Its just cringe like his tan. He put up some pictures on his stories to include real life karaoke nights. I couldn't understand it if it was a Friday night why did the clock behind him say ten past 1 unless that was am?? And those personalised aprons ffs...one sock off and one on. He tries way to hard there is no way on earth that was natural in any way.
I see in his stories that he refers to "all the hateful comments that me and I my friends have been exposed to" - I think the reality is that these people put their lives out there and it is going to provoke comments particularly when its clear that they are trying to promote themselves as a brand often trying to dupe the consumer...
The thing is, I bet by using the word hateful he probably means people who say they don't like the colour he's painted something, or the fact that he doesn't wear socks. That's note hateful, that's just people having an opinion. I know someone with a pretty large instagram following and he's never had any genuine hateful comments or messages! Toby just needs to grow a thicker skin, or better still, get rid of his account if it's getting him that down.
Yes I've followed them both infact I buy from West Barn as I do like some of her stuff. Thry are both wealthy women from their online shops but they do tend to rub it in sometimes. Fern annoys me more as Colleen is okay if not desperate for a man. No idea why she separated or got divorced but over lockdown she had 2 different guys move in with her at different times of course. She started redecorating a spare bedroom for one of the guys daughters which was way too quick for my liking. I'm not sure her and her sister get on as never mention each other whereas they did before. Wouldn't surprise me if they fell out over Colleen's need for a man and any man.
They were in business together then fell out (posts hinted it was Coll husband fault getting involved) fern moved away. Then after marriage split the sisters seemed to bond again. Started mentioning each other. Now it’s gone quiet agsin I noticed too.
