Student nurses can apply for healthcare plans for placement, they used to be quite rare but now almost every student has one for some form of neurodiversity or mental health. It is SO hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. We can only have so many students on per shift but the healthcare plan might say ‘day shifts only’ which means other students experience suffers. The registered nurses priority is patient safety but often the student will only see their learning needs as a priority and it causes so much friction and tension.
