Firstly - a big welcome to all the newbies.
Hmmmm, Debretts seems to have completely missed the fact that our late Queen had several non-titled grandchildren. So, the titles can't be automatic. It can clearly be agreed to bestow them - or not. Otherwise, it would have taken an act of parliament to remove them.
Princess Anne has always ever been a working Royal, so there certainly is precedent for the monarch not to bestow Prince/Princess titles, even for members of the "senior team"
I cannot see any reason why Archie & Lili - growing up as citizens in another country - should ever have titles. Just...why?
It would be beyond ridiculous - especially in the streamlined, modern monarchy that Charles envisioned.
Also - I think the reported trust issue that KC3 has - is not with the duo (that boat has long sailed) but with the children themselves.
Monarchy is about the long game.
Fast forward a few years when the flatpacks could potentially join in with other royal children/teenagers at parties and holidays and Christmas. Except they won't. Because everyone in the RF will know that every single word could be carried back to mommy dearest and sold by Papa to the highest bidder for another interview.
Let's face it - even things that were never said. Because it's not like Mr & Mrs Reek haven't got form for inventing stories and selling them. It would be very damaging for the monarchy to give those traitors even a tiny foothold back into the RF. Any level of access will give the duo that element of "it could be true" on which her PR thrives.
Not forgetting, the children will be foreign citizens, with zero clue as to protocol - with titles that would forever represent our countries and commonwealth, our monarchy, our Head of State. Even if they become wasters, drug addicts or porn stars.
Those kids are out. The parents are out.
Or should I say...."overseas"
As ever, my recollections only and differing opinions may vary
