What an amazing nursing home your husband is in.I got an invite this afternoon from the nursing home where my husband is cared for to their jubilee barbecue on Saturday. I mentioned that hubby might not be too keen on seeing me eat a burger when all he can eat is pureed food.
"Don't worry" I was told, the chef has pureed the separate ingredients of a burger and then moulded them back into a burger shape, bun and all! How fabulous is that! So hubby can have a burger but as it will be soft it will have to be eaten with a spoon, but it will taste like a burger. The chef is also going to do the same with fish and chips.
And to 'crown it all', so to speak, we can finish off with the Lemon Platinum Jubilee trifle, pureed for those who need it. I can't wait. Will try to get some pics and post them on here if I can.

Also, interesting profile of PW in the New Statesman. Considering the publication, which is pretty republican-leaning, it comes across as fair. A lot better than some of the stuff the RRs are putting out these days.

If it is the case that there's no photos, this suggests that H&M are not in control of the arrangements, the RF are. News of their arrival is all over the UK and US press but there's not a single photo. Will wait and see if any turn up of them arriving but it looks as though there's a press blackout and any photos would have been published by now.

It is, all the staff are so friendly and his food is, 99% of the time, what other residents have but pureed. It is then moulded into the shape of what it is so, for example, pureed carrots look like a pile of baby carrots. Makes it look a lot more appetising and they know what they are about to taste. He eats it all and has put on over half a stone in 8 weeks!
They have all the bunting up (not bun tins) so really looking forward to the events they've got lined up for them on Fri/Sat/Sun.
