I do hope that Aardvark Rubella Orrery will stock musical instruments. Here is one used previously by my good self to demonstrate sympathy whilst watching the Oprah Interview with dear Henry and Meagain View attachment 2840929
Was that the Stradivarius you ordered from that well known site that begins with T and has an emu tagged on?

Dooley Doo said:
I am still catching up on the last thread.

I would like to thank the tattlers that posted in reply to the HMQEII involvement in WWII post.

Your relatives stories are very interesting.
Thank you for reading these histories, @Dooley Doo. They're quite fascinating, aren't they? I'm not sure there's a museum or permanent exhibition of women's wartime efforts.

@Beaology
Do you have a link please? I love researching and reading about that period. Especially the Women’s forces.
@Beaology - is this of interest?
Some memorabilia here....my mother did her initial training in the same unit: the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service - part of the British Army).
These women were responsible for keeping K2 ambulances and other heavy duty vehicles fit for field work - that is, battlefields. These K2s are the vehicles that we see in photos of Princess Elizabeth working on and driving (I have similar photos of my mum).
These women had a thorough training in motor vehicle mechanics and HGV driving - both HMTLQ and my mum could have set themselves up as garage proprietors after the war!

My mother, being a woman of indomitable derring-do was promoted out of this unit into the rather elite
Organization initially nursing but later transport, spying, disaster support
fany.org.uk
The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry is a British independent all-female registered charity formed in 1907 and active in both nursing and intelligence work during the World Wars. Wikipedia
I'm still not sure what she did in the FANY but she did gain her paratroopers wings, of which she was very proud, and worked with very top, household name people and the police. She was also a brilliant A&E medic - when I was a child, I just happened to see her in action a couple of times with badly injured people, she was a force of nature!!

These ATS and FANY people were phenomenal women. They were highly skilled, courageous and played a crucial part in the war effort in various key ways behind the scenes. I believe that they're rather under-acknowledged and unsung today.

Maybe because the Sun's really going after the Squaddies this evening.

I'm on catch up so apologies if this has already been caught from the article, but what the frick...

"There is no suggestion the group of trolls are endorsed by The Sussexes."

Like hell there isn't!

I can't remember the exact details, but I am sure some good person here will remember or be able to point us in the right direction, but didn't the gruesome twosome actually phone up one of these leading lights of the Sussex Squad and thank them for their support? Especially all the online support, and the fundraising? Isn't there a video of them gurning away in their new monteshithole 16 bathroom hidey-hole while they phone up the Twunts that are making people's life hell?

Don't let them off the hook, they're right in the middle of this particular cesspit!

It was on Stef the Alternerd.
And she was playing clips from a podcast - Sussex Squad I think...

(Earplugs recommended for those of a nervous disposition)
He's an absolute twit. Let's hope W&K sue him for what he's said.

They'll have wised up to feathers and candle so needs to be something else - maybe statues or pillars.

Or, as in their demotion on the webpage, it'll be seats right at the back, around the corner, behind a pillar, next to the bagpipers!

The last thread closed before I had a chance to comment on the article about Smegs‘s new vision of clothes for her and her ARO customers. This is a quote from the article…….

Through Mizrahi’s expertise and Markle’s vision, the new wardrobe is poised to become a standout collection that reflects the Duchess’s personality and taste. By combining elements of luxury and understated elegance, Markle’s clothing choices will likely appeal to a wide range of consumers seeking a balance between sophistication and comfort.

No doubt this new vision range will be modelled by supermodel Smeg herself showing ……’understated elegance, sophistication and comfort’ ……. I will believe it when I see it! More like move over Primark you have competition!

Thanks to @Doodlebug005 for starting this new thread and @InkHeart for the fab title.
And because everyone wants to wear clothing that reflects someone else’s personality and taste. This Duchess overuse is really starting to get to me. I much prefer Rachel or even Megan Markle (I think she’d like to be iconic and known by one name, like Cher or Adele). How big a protocol breach would it be to refer to her as Duchess of Sussex County? Seems more fitting, and we could always accidentally forget the “o” on occasion.

This is interesting. Happening tomorrow.

Why is it only Birmingham Live reporting this and none of the big names, Sky, BBC etc.

Edited to say The Sun also mentions it. It's an Easter message. 😁

I think it's to do with Maundy Thursday where the late Queen used to give out money to people like the workers

Re the Duchess of Dog Food's latest offering, the peer group's feedback is in, and it was unanimous.

Yes, so they did indeed pick up the phone as mentioned by Oh-my Scabies

The Sewer Squad also organised a virtual baby shower for Archifical and they reached out to them on Instagram after that. The sycophancy in this article will make you want to vom so if of a fragile disposition I'd go and grab some motilium and a sick bag first

We have time still to brainstorm. Although I can make some mean abstract sculptures with clay in a pinch. The last time I made one, I nearly beat out fine arts students who were specialising in sculpture. Only thing is - it's a secret so don't tell anyone 🤫 - I didn't even remember what the animal we were supposed to make looked like. So I just joined a couple of blocks of clay in the vague shape until I ran out of time 🤷

If that made me sound as incompetent as Smegs, I'm not. The judges actually liked my "work", so I did something right. Unlike Smegs whose failure record is 100% so far 😂 Won't really count bagging a prince because she caught the one no one else wanted to catch 😂 he was actually caught and quickly and quietly thrown back into the pond 😉
