'No mark of the King' could be any male in the RF - why is the assumption it can only be Harold? there are plenty of males in the RF born not to be King not just Harold
It could be Charlotte or even Louis!

I personally don't think it refers to this generation of Royals, I think it refers to the Queen's parents, as he was the younger brother who took on the role of King

I hope, hope, hope that it doesn’t refer to William and Harry.
Even though I don't live in the UK anymore, if Harry became King I want a Republic!

Could have the mark of the Queen - Charlotte.

Also, since Charles is unwell and Camilla is taking over many of his duties and this isn't an absolute monarchy, in a way she is the one reigning (or a better word?), if only temporarily. Unless she has a tattoo of Charles, the quatrain could be interpreted as referring to the current situation

Or we could have a King Bob situation. What's up with the Sword of Excalibur nowadays?

Imagine Camilla with a tattoo of Charles though

The heroine in a Hindi film had this one - it says 'Dekho magar pyaar se' ('Look, but with love').

If I was Camilla I wouldn’t be entertaining future visits girl needs to put her foot down, Charles will be exhausted with treatment and we’ve seen the circus (press wise) that a 45 min trip has brought, KC doesn’t need all of that extra baggage and worry about when he’s coming/where he’s staying/what he can and can’t say to his son for fear of it getting leaked, especially when his strength needs to be fighting this horrible disease.

I wonder how much sniffing around Harold is doing regarding Catherine’s operation so Smeg can sell the information.
Maybe that was the real reason for the visit. "So Pa.....how is Catherine? What op did she have?".

Utterly disgusting. Briefing the papers against your own brother for your own ends and then suing newspapers for printing stuff you don't like. The man is rotten to his duplicitous fucking core. Fuck off back to the USA already.
Well it has proved to the RF that they still can't trust him - which may account for his cool reception at Clarence house yesterday. William has managed to visit a Central London hospital, probably daily, took Catherine home and did the school run for several weeks and only got papped a single time (probably deliberately). Harry deigns to visit - and Backgrid are fully briefed on his route and timings all the way from LA to CH. Yet after he is given a very short timeslot - as if by magic Harry manages to disappear to an unknown location because he didn't brief Backgrid.

Then Harry briefs yet another victim story against his own brother - seemingly Pikachu face shocked that they are not falling over themselves to meet with him and have their business blabbed to the tabloids.

I think that the treacherous little weasel has outplayed himself - especially with the Endgame book. It is only 2 months since the Harkle mouthpiece Scooby was making wild accusations of racism against KC and Catherine using information that can only have come from the Harkles. But it backfired in a spectacular way. It clearly was the Endgame - but not for the RF. Harry is clearly out in the cold with KC only prepared to extend a very basic courtesy 15-30 minute visit. It is clear he is an outsider now - in fact wasn't he gloating in Jamaica about not being in the RF. The stoat will have to slope back to LA with no new gossip to sell and no new Netflix content.

I really don’t understand all the rush to get to London, it’s not as if KC is on his deathbed..?
And all that media circus with police escort and shit like that
And then the King with all his exquisite and vast properties throughout the UK and the twat ends up staying in a hotel

What a fecking circus!

Maybe that was the real reason for the visit. "So Pa.....how is Catherine? What op did she have?".
"She's done with babies, right?"

If he was told yes, within ten minutes Smegs would be ordering another baby to celebrate (and rub Catherine's nose in her 'fertility').

I think one of the biggest problems is the invisible work they do that is not immediately obvious to people. It's the same with any job that doesn't only involve straight up physical labour, there will always be people complaining that unless they see a shovel moving, that person is not really working at all.

Most negative comments under any news story about the royals are about them doing nothing but cutting ribbons and eating free lunches wearing designer clothes. Even if we're not talking about royals per se, desk jobs and mental labour are not valued by some people. They also do not see how tiring in reality it is to attend events in formal wear, having to remember everyone's names, background, engage in conversation, look interested no matter what you are presented with, working to advance the issue you are promoting in that event, going from place A to B, then to C and D. It doesn't matter whether your arse is parked inside a luxury car or you're flying somewhere in business class, it's still not fun, it's work. You're tired, your legs and back ache, it's exhausting even if it's not the same as physical labour. And then that's only one part of it. People think royals have staff to do everything for them but if you are not a Harry but more like an Anne, you do the hours yourself and don't just rely on being quickly briefed while hurrying to some event. I'd love to see any of the complainers for example read all the boring documents Charles has to read at 2 am to be informed of all that goes on in the country and aware of the current legislation.

So, what they would have to do is make people see what it is that they actually do and how it makes a difference in people's lives. You can say royals have no place in modern society but then again, no tourist is going to visit a republic just to see a presidential palace and perhaps the parliament. Royals do have a place in supporting charities, working as a uniting figureheads that offer stability over long term without political leanings. I've also noticed the quality standards for many things are higher in monarchies compared to republics for historical reasons. Craftspeople for example had to strive to acquire royal warrant of appointment and you did not get there with shoddy work. This quality issue and the continuing traditions can be seen very clearly for example when talking about restoration of historical buildings; years ago I was living in a republic and they were renovating an old building. It didn't work out because "we just don't have the knowhow in this country for repairing this kind of thing" and a specialist had to be flown in from a country that still has a royal court. This all coming from someone who has observed the differences for decades having lived in both kinds of countries, monarchies and republics.

As long as people see royals as only useless handshakers cutting ribbons, they will want to get rid of them. I think Prince Philip had the right idea. I don't think I ever knew how much he influenced things until he passed away and I learned a lot more about the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and his work with environmental issues. Sorry for the long post, hope this makes sense at all!

There was a royal correspondent from The Times on GMB and she reported that the King felt tired following "a procedure" on Monday, hence the short meeting with Harry. Which reading between the lines would indicate that he hadn't expected Harry to come or made plans in his diary to see him...

The more I hear about it the more I become sure it was a field trip hastily organised by Meg and their agents, the sick bastards.
Exactly what I am thinking.
I was catching up on this thread sometime in the early hours as I avoided a lot of the Harry coverage.

So he and Charles barely met. Good.
It irked me the whole nonsense when the story broke that there was a statement about Harry coming to visit. And some idiots asking why hasn't William said anything! Because he doesn't have to. He is just getting on with his work and his responsibilities as usual.

I'm enjoying picturing imaginary scenarios.
Camilla ushering Charles to the helicopter while giving Harry dagger looks. 'Come along dear, time we were outta here'
Charles looking at him with his lip curling 'Well now you have visited, bye bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out'

I want to believe that they used a helicopter for maximum effect. Big deal of your man arriving, escorted and all the rest of it and then next thing P&C up, up and away. That has really entertained me.

I'm not one to hold grudges. I do believe people can change and like to try and see the best in people. I really think the RF originally had this mindset too! How many times did they openly give H&M the 'benefit of the doubt' olive branches much to our dismay. Yey time and time and time again they showed their true colours. They sold stories, books, have interviews dragging his family through the mud over and over. The RF have had enough!

Things could be going wrong now for Harry in Monteshitshow and he is honestly going to regret his actions. That time is coming sooner than he realises.

Or Charlotte. She wouldn't have the mark of a King because she'd be a Queen Regnant.

Haz thinks Camilla's some kind of Machiavellian schemer, doesn't he? Right now I bloody hope she is. Bring it on!

And thankfully the public still aren't having any of the "olive branch" crap.

The idea the media is perpetrating that the Royals are having some kind of staffing crisis and the only solution is Haz is utterly ridiculous. Anne, the Edinburghs and the Gloucesters work bloody hard and the media totally ignores it for the most part. Start covering them if you're that worried about senior Royals having to take a bit of time off.

Other RFs manage with only a handful of senior members.

Might also be a good time to tell those Realms that keep making noises about ditching the Monarch to get a move on. Cut the workload a bit.

No reason why the Monarch needs to be Head of the Commonwealth either. William's already talked about that.

was Paramount not the company she had pictures taken with in Jamaica the other week she probably meant the Royal family being viewed on Paramount just like what happened in their Netflix shit show

Well you can imagine how tired you'd feel after suffering from problems down there, having an operation and finding out you have cancer and still feeling out of sorts and needing to use the bathroom frequently and then be ambushed by your dimwit son with his frozen todger asking you if you might need some of Mummy's Elizabeth Arden cream to heal the booboo.

Of course he would so he'd have more material and victimisation in his mind to write about in the next book and leaks about the kids and Catherine's recovery.
For a man who complains about press intrusion and accused his brother of briefing against him he certainly doesn’t hesitate to brief against William.

I really applaud William- he’s doing what right for his family and the institution that he serves. It must be very hard. I wonder is all the pro Harry press is punishment for keeping Catherine’s condition private.

Yup it was!

Harold also made sure to get all close and intimate with the Marley clan.

Maybe he's looking to become reggae royalty next and bring back is alter ego Winston with the wig and everything.

The last few days makes me really appreciate how PoW can so effectively grey-rock the press and all of the nonsense. William is not needy to be liked by the press and doesn't crave positive spin all of the time. Whoever helped him with therapy deserves credit as well. I think this is what pisses off the pro-KC and pro-Harkle press they can't force a reaction out of PoW and that William's ship is not as leaky (information wise) - much as they try. They are probably worried about what happens if William gets to top job earlier than expected.
