I have been reading excerpts from The Bench and seriously not impressed. In fact the phrase that best sums it up is “vanity project”. I can only add self indulgent clap trap that would have been laughed away had it no connection to royalty.

I have family members retired from the RAF.
Back when they had their passing out parades and we were invited to attend I can remember asking "will we see any of the SAS?"
I was told they are very secretive but if one of them walks past you on the Base or is in your presence, you wil KNOW because without saying a word they emit a kind of silent strength and they stand out.

I will never forget that tense time in our history when the SAS stormed the Iranian embassy to rescue the hostages and they were filmed going in.
