To be honest if I was staying at a nice hotel and someone was walking around talking to themselves filming it all I would definitely be rolling my eyes. I would imagine the old money folks have the least patience out of everyone for that malarkey.

As for the ‘I do it for you guys’… no you don’t Hannah. This isn’t a charity endeavour. You get paid to stay in posh hotels and eat nice food etc as it’s all a business expense. You’re making thousands out of your side hustle and obviously enjoy being on camera so let’s not pretend otherwise.

I half watched the video, I assume the people she describes as unfriendly or whatever are just people annoyed and fed up with unflucners filming everything (as a Londoner tbh I get it, I won't move out of the way if I see someone clearly filming content, why should I?) Also annoyed me she spoke about the videos being so expensive to make... surely she wouldn't be doing them unless she was making a net profit on them?

She went to the Savoy today and that room was tiny and no plugs for the kettle. She ate but the serving was so tiny she went to McDonald's later for food. It made me feel better staying in a Premier Inn. My last stay by Kings Cross was 200 pounds but at least it had coffee and biscuits. Free coffee and doughnuts in the morning as the kitchen was having a remodel. I miss her lunches with the sister.
I've actually found her hotel vlogs over the past couple of weeks quite enjoyable. The latest one on the Savoy, wow, it was barely above Premier Inn level quality for about quadruple or more the price! What a total rip off that place clearly is.

Okay, what is up with the nonstop flirting, multiple “winks”/ almost ” winks”, and the cutesy finger waving at the camera pleading for people to subscribe and give the video a like to show YouTube that she “has done an okay job.” See the poor little Hannah needs your help to like the videos the big bad YouTube will think that she has done an OK job ? Really? WTF was the flirtatious look and sign off to the video, “ if you can’t be good, be safe.”

Sadly and unfortunately, Hannah has totally changed her philosophy from a couple of years ago and is now chasing the $$$$$$ nonstop and is100% committed to all the cheap YouTube crap as others in this forum have mentioned, e.g., inflammatory, usually misleading, clickbait titles, weirdly filtered screenshots of herself with a distorted body/ head and super intense filtered appearance. Such a shame.

She mentioned her weight about 3 to 4 times in the video yesterday. She made a comment about needing to go to the hotel gym, and other comments about not wanting to eat dinner at the hotel, just eating a few snacks, etc.

The zeal to win the YouTube lottery has had an obvious impact on her recent videos. She wants that cash. She loved showing off that trashy $2000 bag she’s hauling around as her ” new camera bag.” She loves all the special treatment and staying in five star hotels, and eating at luxury restaurants occasionally, yet still complains nonstop about everything in her life in videos.

She watches all the YouTube videos that were made about any hotel in which she is going to rent a room. She knows what aspects of the hotel to film beforehand and what exact type of room that she would like to rent. She likes to create scenarios where she is the poorly treated underdog and viewers need to rush in to save “ their girl” Hannah, by posting comments, flooding the booking.com hotel site for a hotel that “ hurt the feelings of their girl Hannah” or charged her incorrectly for her hotel stay. Hannah isn’t doing anything new. She is just rereading old ground that several Youtubers have done before her, usually days to weeks before her stay at a luxury hotel or restaurant.

I don’t believe she’s using fake names to check into the hotels. She knows that all the hotels are aware of who she is and what she is doing. I think she likes all the perks and indulgences that come with her new direction for her channel where she simply stays in a luxury hotel one night a week and films a lunch or dinner on anothe day for a video.

I think she’s trying to make viewers believe that she is struggling financially to afford the 5 star hotels and the majority of her viewers do not realize how much money she is making monthly off of YouTube. She likes to emphasize that she is paying for the hotels herself with her own money, like she is a struggling martyr or the new patron saint of 4 and 5 star London hotels. People then feel bad for her and send her money in the comments or feel as if they must place a comment in the comment section, subscribe and click like for the video, increasing her YouTube statistics, etc. She has never once corrected or told viewers that she can easily afford the expensive hotel rooms and meals because she is making a big chunk of money from the YouTube channel.

At times, I believe she is setting up or relaying exaggerated situations to viewers about how she feels like she’s been badly treated or will make some strange comment or complaint about a hotel in order to get hundreds of comments to up her ratings for YouTube. It is very disingenuous and is basic YouTuber manipulation for views, clicks, and $$$$, which is something that she swore for years she would never do. She seems to have no shame now unplugging sponsors during videos and using questionable YouTube marketing tactics to draw an audience. It is a disappointing change in her channel and in her philosophy towards vlogging. She works in marketing, she knows that some of the clickbait titles and tactics that she is using are sleazy.

I noticed that she did not want to show the welcoming note from the hotel that was on the table in her hotel suite. Is it because it has a real name on it again and she’s not using an alias every single time she books into a hotel? All of these hotels are aware that she is a video blogger. I believe she gets a lot of special upgrades, attention, etc., due to that knowledge. In fact, a few videos ago, she remarked that she had been placed in the same suite at a hotel that a well-known YouTube travel channel host had stayed within the last year.

Her videos are getting very perfunctory. She checks in, shows off her outfit, complains about her hair, nails, her job, and weight, rummages through the mini bar in the room, run her hands over the furniture, complains if she has not been left biscuits, makes comments about the bathroom. She then roams around the hotel, seemingly embarrassed if anyone notices that she is filming, and speaking in an exaggerated whisper. She pretends to be surprised when she is given an upgrade, a complementary drink, etc. Rinse and repeat every week.

I find it hard to believe that she’s never eaten Taco Bell or heard of Kentucky Fried chicken, etc.

I agree with other people in this forum that Hannah is playing a bit of a dangerous game with her latest “ date ” videos to hotels and restaurants. She’s getting more flirtatious with each video, creating a false intimacy with with her scripted storylines, “ pack your fancy pants cuz this week is something really rather special, rather expensive, rather fancy indeed. We are staying at the brand new Chancery Lane.” We are staying at this hotel….what would you like to order at dinner.…you are going to order the expensive drink, aren’t you…….I am taking you on a date to …..” she keeps referring to herself in the third person as “ your girl Hannah” in videos, to try to create some type of intimate relationship with viewers and to get them to be loyal to her and her channel. It is getting weird.

She is encouraging some of the strange men that show up in her comment section to believe or indulge in the fantasy that they are actually on a date with her or staying in a hotel with her. I recall a few videos ago that one man sent her $400 towards her hotel room. Other men are giving her $$$$ in the comment section to go towards her expensive hotel rooms. She’s getting overly flirtatious with her weekly dinners that she films for her channel, talking about going on an exclusive dinner date with viewers, asking what drinks they would like to order, etc. It is getting a bit creepy.

I liked the old Hannah better than the new exaggerated/ intermittent posh accent, manipulative, $$$$ hungry, disingenuous, influencer Hannah That seems to dominate her videos in the past several months. Do you think she’s trying to build her channel up so she can quit her job with Disney and become a full-time vlogger? I believe her videos where she went to different exhibits, went to different areas of London, etc. were much more interesting than weekly routine luxury hotel videos. Perhaps one or two hotel videos, a month, but weekly? That’s going to get old very quickly.

We are not her target audience anymore. She needs sheep, and sheep with credit cards. Preferably male and bored.

I don't believe for a second she didn't book that latest 5 star hotel under her own name. Especially as she refused to show the letter with the name she booked it under.

She got a crazy upgrade from a basic room to a suite with champagne, cakes, snack platter, fruit bowl etc. They aren't doing that for a random person, like she claimed with "this could happen to you".

Do you guys actually watch her london stuff? And if so why? I follow her for her Disney world content, but really not interested in her new videos so really surprised how she gets the views!
She did just treat herself to some big diamond earrings so guessing that was from YouTube!
I'm British and follow her. I like her and i like (most) of her videos. London is always an interesting city and the shopping ones are an easy way to window shop witnout having to actually do it. Plus sometimes its just an easy watch for 30 minutes. She doesnt come across like most youtubers on camera, she is quite calm and also quite funny and not too squealy girly. I like her honesty and lack of sponsored posts, she doesnt take herself too seriously, and calls people out sometimes. Also I find the few vloggers she does interact with (thisnatasha, lrdreaming, suitcasemonkey) a good sign, rather than the Adam hattans of the world

Was really liking these hotel videos, but really disappointed that she’s lied about using her real name.
there’s no way the Connaught would upgrade her to a suite on a Saturday night if they thought she was a bog standard customer.
Agree with @Yel - her saying she wouldn’t show her name on the letter because she wants to use that name again- there are a million surnames in the world- pretty sure you could just use another one.

Well yes, if you are filming a video staying in a 5* hotel in a major city, you would expect the outgoing cost to be high!! BUT no one is forcing you to stay there and do that! People were happy with the free walking around London videos!!

You guyz, I didn’t use the same name when I booked this place, but the name I used just happened to end in (most likely) a t and s. What are the chances, you guyz. So random.

Lol and the transition to cliche influencer is complete.

I dont know why they all think that anything negative must come from unhappy people. Its an arrogant assumption as it assumes the only possible reason people could think youre wrong or dislike you is because the issue is with them, and never you.

Im perfectly happy, just super disappointed what happened to her channel. Also, my whole family (4, different households) all used to watch and like Hannah. All now dont, or watch occasionally in spite of her (try and block her out) and how she's changed. So its definitely not a limited opinion.

People disagreeing with you, challenging your actions and pointing out your hypocrisy isnt hate. Especially as most here are/were fans.

Also, if she really didnt care she wouldn't address things in her videos. She would just get on with the content.

The whole stay with food and everything is a business expense since she's filming for YT, so she certainly doesn't have to worry about any costs, and for sure reaps way more 🤑 back.
I find it hard to believe that these ‘influencers’ can earn so much for content that is often so vacuous. Even those who start off with good intentions seem to be corrupted by the money or their perceived fame. People that I once liked eventually change. Gary Eats, for example, now uses clickbait titles with a stupid selfie pulling a silly faux-shocked face superimposed over some restaurant they are reviewing. Take Hannah’s review on Tuesday …

IMG_3408.jpeg

She actually enjoyed the meal! But here she is with an intentionally ambiguous/misleading title pulling an exaggerated face like a bad actor in a hammy silent movie. Gary has started to do similar which is disappointing. I do find it quite surprising that these fundamentally very unexceptional people can make a lot of 💰 from this content, in an economy where it can be challenging to make ends meet. Poncing around buying ugly handbags for £thousands. It’s a strange world indeed. Forgive the rant folks, had a trying day yesterday.

To be honest, I like Hannah and think she's just capitalising on the growth of her YouTube channel. I would do the same honestly.

It can start out as a hobby (and usually does for many YouTubers) but then they realise they can make decent money from it and capitalise on that.

She's at 100k or almost 100k subs, right? Also, maybe her job doesn't bring her as much satisfaction as it once did and she is exploring the option of YouTube as a second
(maybe main income) right now.
I like Hannah too, and this was a rave thread when I joined? 😂

And sorry, but if a hotel upgrades her because she’s a YouTuber, it should automatically be disqualified from scoring. She’s not reviewing the same experience we’d get, for instance seeing the state of the less premium rooms in the Ritz from other YouTuber vids.
She absolutely should be disqualified from scoring if she receives preferential treatment. The upgrade she got at the Connaught was mindblowing, and all the gifts at the Ritz ... unless you're a Sheikh from a high-status family paying full price for the premium suites, you wouldn't receive all those extras as a 'normal' client. I have very rarely received upgrades at hotels - memorably two because I travelled towards the end of Covid - I was given a Penthouse suite at a hotel in Dusseldorf and a very good deal at the Adlon Kempinski by the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin (which was a memorable experience for which I will be forever grateful) and Durrant's a 4-Star hotel off Marylebone High Street - because I've been a regular visitor over the years.

Personally, I preferred Hannah's walks around London - shopping, stopping for coffees etc at various cafes. It was more real. The hotels and restaurants are fine occasionally, but it is becoming boring.

Well spotted @Sabbie I think she was using her own name!

Loved the Gilbert Scott architecture but was surprised that the rooms weren't better maintained. Some of the common areas were beautiful, such as staircases, Gothic Revival features & etc.

Hannah is quite basic. Her identity appears to be limited to “conventionally attractive white middle class woman”. To say she lives in one of the most culturally diverse metropolitan areas in the world, the food she consumes is very boring.

We have an annual trip to our localish old English hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, I can’t ever remember being asked how I was, we’re usually greeted by “good evening” and shown to our table. Same at reception, although they may ask how our (25 min 🤣) journey was. I’m not stuffy and like to chat with the staff and they then respond and we talk, but initially, they’re quite formal.
As a British person I hate being asked how I am on entering restaurants or shops, it's not like it's a genuine question is it? I hate forced positivity like that

Oh she is 100% dropping things in to get comments to boost engagement, and pleading poverty and 'i do it for you guys' to get the tips coming in

Interestingly this one wasnt sponsored, unless I completely missed it.

Yes Hannah Ricketts is her real name, shes said before she regrets naming her channel it. Which i dont blame her on, no way would I use my real name for that.

And I don’t get why she ordered so much food this time when every other time it’s a club sandwich, and again did have a bill to show.
Yes that really didn't make sense ordering a vast amount, did she not show a receipt for it? I skim watched. It was just like the big spreads brands put on for influencers.

Also the hotel showed her the room she paid to get, which seems strange.

Felt like there was some kind of deal with the Connaught.
