I think in general, getting married or pregnant is still more valued than women's career successes. I don't want these things pitted against each other. But for me - my family were overjoyed when I got engaged, but not so bothered when I completed my PhD. I know which of these was more hard work and an achievement, but they don't see it that way. Women are not 'only' wives and mothers. Everyone has a different path. I feel that being a wife and mother is still seen as more of a celebration. What about women who don't want to get married or those who can't have babies? All of these things should be equally important IMO and they can be, if we acknowledge that all women should be empowered to do whichever of these things they want, and not do whichever they don't want.
Anyways that being said ...Grace can go to hell posting this tbh, she was born rich and white and had years of private schooling. She was always going to 'succeed' and her 'achievements' are not the product of hard work. Sorry not sorry.

Tala is hardly a green company if business trips involve flying abroad .. in business class ... the carbon footprint on non-economy seating is way bigger. There are calls for it to be scrapped completely
"Hey everyone! So I promised my EA a really fancy holiday and because of how hard we are both working all year (unlike you bleeping peasants) we were really lucky that our trip wasn't cancelled! Since I say how lucky we are it cancels out how wrong it actually is to fly anywhere during a pandemic. Actually we TRIED to cancel but it was absolutely impossible, which I know makes complete sense! We called and called and asked to make sure that we were absolutely doing the right thing. Just forget and ignore the fact that not even going on any trip abroad this year would be the best thing to do because of all the reasons I just said, it was impossible to cancel!! Anyways as I said I have been working so hard, the other trips and staycations I've had this year don't count because I have planned this trip for a while and it's NOT a holiday but an actual business trip (guys I can now say that I am OOO now that I also know what it means!!) so that's another reason why I absolutely deserve this trip and why you guys have to stay home for Christmas, instead of visiting your loved ones and families abroad. You could also start two businesses and write a book and do the same as me!! You just forgot to manifest this enough. She’s trying so hard to justify this holiday (because lets be real, thats exactly what this is). She acts like she’s so deserving of a break and hey maybe she does work hard sometimes, but this is just ridiculous. People act like they are owed holidays abroad when the reality is it’s a privilege and one many can’t afford- be that financially or because of the health risks and concerns travel now brings! She’s already been away multiple times this year anyway i swear? Can’t she just do the right thing for once jeeeeez. Justifying it by saying that she’s being tested before and after, when those tests should be prioritised for those working on the front line, not people travelling unnecessarily

I feel like these are the same people who would jump on Twitter to defend the existence of billionaires after coming home from their minimum wage job. People have to stop deluding themselves into thinking that these people represent a rags to riches story which could apply to their own lives.

totally agree about the belief in a rags to riches tale, it reminds me of whenever i see poor people voting for parties that will cut taxes for the rich but not them, its pretty bad here but even worse in America with their fear of "socialism". Talk to someone that looks after kids with significant SEN, who helps disabled teenagers go to the toilet and cleans them up for 15K a year and goes home to their covid-vulnerable parents because they can't afford to move out. Talk to someone who works in oncology and is faced with death every day. Talk to someone who is caring for dementia patients all day! Talk to teachers who have to catch up kids on a year's worth of work and be around COVID all day when they're pushing 70. Talk to social workers who know the children and women they work with have been stuck at home with their abuser for months. Talk to even a regular admin office job person, who probably writes more substantial content in a single email than Grace does in a day!
